Then I watched it a few weeks ago and went through the whole first series in 2 days. It's set in a much more interesting time period and it's just so much better structured than the Clone Wars. It's not without flaws, but it's kept me hooked and season 2 has been great so far. I only hope these guys do get at least some kind of mention in Rogue One. |
|
And unlike all of the other trailers, this one actually kind of spoils a bit more. So beware. It's not horrible, but still some scenes I'd have liked to have been surprised by instead of knowing will come.

What exactly was spoiled though? Not that much. Maybe a character encounter but nothing really major.

I'm surprised this thread isn't alive with activity :lol
Saw the movie last night and absolutely loved every second of it. It was brilliant! |
The movie was pretty awesome. I definitely loved it~
"I thought you couldn't go see it." SHHHH! Lemme join the cool kids club! |
Plan on seeing it tonight. I knew that the movie was in good hands. I was not worry that it would not be another Episode 1.
|
I definitely appreciate how people around the internet sacrifice their own precious time to make sure no one gets spoiled. There are assholes everywhere, so it’s awesome that some people flag spoiler content on all sorts of sites. Because sadly people apparently try to spoil the fun on every possible website.
… Yes I haven’t seen the movie yet :lol And it’ll take some time before I can go. Two weeks plus. Quote:
I’m not a fan of Abrams so I'm still not convinced. |
It's great, really great. There was only one element of it I felt let down on but I haven't had a cinema experience like that in years. I've got so much to say but I don't even want to post non-spoilery stuff. Everyone should go in knowing as little as possible.

JJ did it again and did it well. The whole movie was fantastic and im glad i stopped listening to rumors

They leave me no choice for Star Wars, so I hope Disney kept him on a short leash. |
the thing is to me his star trek movie did not feel like trek movie they felt more star wars i mean more star wars say what you want about him. he was never trek fan he was always a star wars fan it showed in trek film and now that he started of new trilogy it was awesome
i went to the uk midnight showing with my dad and friend and i left the cinema wanting episode out. i read now that few thing hated of the film are thing i want mention untill later on i say this they played it safe using working formula that was not broken and told a new story with it but it felt like older star wars film all else it felt lived in it felt like star wars it was stars wars. |
Star Wars The Force Awakens - Wow, the franchise is definitely in good hands. It does retread some old material and areas, but the characters are actually characters with development instead of just being a plot device as they were with the prequels. The light saber duels are done with such finesse and grit that they really feel like the this is a better to the death and now it has made me question whether the cool choreography of the prequels were actual fights at all. You could actually see the ferocity involved when dealing with a light saber. The effects are top notch and there seems to be a bunch of practical effects to go with the CGI. Kylo Ren is more Vader than he is Maul, which was great as he is also actually a character. Finally, I feel sorry for all of those people out there who were spending huge amounts of money on the Phasma figure because you are probably going to feel like an idiot for doing so. In the end, there is nothing more I can say without spoiling anything, so just go see the movie and open your minds to re-enter the Star Wars universe. JJ Abrahms work on Star Trek was just him practicing for this delectable film that kicks off a new era for Star Wars. I give it an 8/10.
Kiwami, JJ is the only man to have actually made Star Trek interesting to me. His two movies are far more entertaining for me than any thing else with the Trek name on it. |
J.J. Abrams definitely layed a great foundation for future movies to build on. Lets see what Rian Johnson and Colin Trevorrow will do with Episode eight and nine.

So I have an unpopular opinion...this recent movie was mostly fanservice and nostalgia baiting.
It had good parts, but serious?! Another Death Star-like weapon? Is that all the imagination these guys can muster? Kylo Ren is just another Skywalker? Or sorry, he's basically Jacen Solo, except now they call him Ben (not a bad choice, at least). Why can't he be an unrelated Sith Lord? Once again a droid holds a secret that Stormtroopers want. There's making heartwarming references to a movie people like or paying respects to previous entries, and then there's copying the same damn plot points. Sure, this time the Rebels/Resistance were more concerned with looking for Luke than TAKING OUT THE MULTI-PLANET BUSTING DEATH PLANET, but it's still the Resistance being on the run than this new story, which was supposed to be the idea, that it was new, giving them equal or slightly better standing against what remains of the empire. They get the actors from the Raid and treat them as canon fodder for those space beasts, Captain Phasma was Boba Fett in the sense that anyone without a stick up their ass knows he was worthless/cooler looking that he really was. Luke doesn't say the line from the trailer, hell he doesn't even say anything, just stands there awkwardly staring at this girl handing him what's supposed to be his lightsaber (wasn't it green in Return of the Jedi? Oh God, I'm becoming one of those fans). Kylo Ren started off cool, but he literally became as whiney as Anakin did right around the time he took off his helmet and looked just like Granddaddy. I won't say there weren't interesting parts. Han was as fun as always, BB-8 didn't need any time to grow on me, I'm a little suspicious of Poe but I like his character, Finn was interesting, and I liked that they pulled a slightly effective fast one on viewers by making Rey the actual new Jedi (though really, considering how much they brought up about Finn and how little they mentioned what Rey deal is in the trailers and info it should have been obvious. Though that scene where they fought off Tie Fighters in the Falcon makes me think they're both force-sensitive, Rey just has a stronger connection). The Nostalgia trip was nice until I realized that I was mostly seeing a rehash of A New Hope, with just no mentor Jedi to actually guide the new blood on their way from the start. I've yet to see more of the "official" reviewers take on the movie, but if they're soft on this movie, I'm going to laugh. Because this bullshit is barely tolerable to them in other series, so the bias would be just adorable to watch. Not a bad movie though, just not the best. |

Actually, They say it was Luke's original light saber, the one Anakin used. The one Obiwan gave him in Episode IV that was lost down the hole. That is why the lady was asked how she got it.

Spoilers spoilers everywhere:lol
But seriously thanks for tagging them guys. |
I really like the movie a lot. Somethings did confuse me.
How did Han Solo's son become bad. It seem like it was hardly explain. How did the girl somehow use the power of the force? Anyone feel like that the movie feels similar to the New Jedi Order series written long before Episode 7. Both had the idea of Han Solo having a son becoming a Sith lord. I can't help to notice between the similarities Kylo Ren and Jacen Solo aka Darth Caedus.. |

And they do talk about how he falls to the dark side while training with Luke. They sent him away and as a result, because he was away form his mother & father, he was more susceptible to Snoke's influence. Which is how he became the monster he is today. While they glazed over it I found the explanation sufficient. They will of course flesh it out in Episode 8. |

Then again my big plot detail that I wish to know about is "why didn't the Resistance just ressurect the moniker of Rebellion/Rebel Alliance when we clearly see by the trailers that Han, Chewie and Leia, all Rebel scum :D, are showing up for this escapade through the stars?" I mean I suppose it's because a rebellion requires an established power to rebel against while a resistance just needs to fend off an opposing advancement, and Mr. Kylo is advancing instead of sitting in a chair aboard a starship going "good good, and tell me Commanderr how is Bespin's infrastructure doing after diverting major trade routes from their space? They're super pissed? HAHAHA classic. Keep up the good work of being evil shits." No spoiling me, just tossing out a text block of my own. |
Kylo is what Anakin should have bee.
|
The Force Awakens really exceeded my expectations. I have to give it a 10/10. I remained completely spoiler free before watching this so I really got the most out of it. I was not expecting Kylo Ren being Han and Leia's son. It's interesting how he's trying to be like his grandfather, Darth Vader. I have a feeling that this is not the end of Han Solo and Kylo Ren. I know they'll be back in Episode VIII and IX. The only thing I didn't like about the movie though was that it was so predictable. It was so obvious Rey was going to use the force to grab Luke's lightsaber from the snow. Unfortunately I also new Kylo Ren was going to kill Han when he handed him the lightsaber. Also, when Rey was goo to open the little chest. I knew it was going to be Luke and Anakin's lightsaber.

I've seen the new Star Wars film and it was super awesome!
|
I really wish JJ would direct Episode 8. However Disney went ahead to hire a director for the movie. Episode 8 comes out in a year and half from now. I do worry that Disney is going to burnt people out with so many new movies out so soon. What made Episode 7 feel so special is that it's the first SW movie in a decade and a long waited sequel to Return of the Jedi. I don't want the series to lose its novelty.

Saw it again and I just realized a few things this time around:
1. Snock says Kylo is from the Knights of Ren. Does this mean there are more of them and that Ren is actually their surname while their first name is the name they choose? Does this mean the Knights of Ren are like the Inquisitors to the Empire? 2. There is actually a double meaning when Kylo has his conversation with Han. I just realized when he says, "I have this pain that won't go away and I need to do something I'm not sure I can do without your help to make it go away." 3. Rey must have been at the island Luke is on before because Kylo saw it when he was scanning her mind. |
