Reviving this thread because I've started rewatching Adventure 02.

3 episodes in and I have 3 main thoughts so far:

1) I don't like any of the new human characters.
2) The armour digivolutions are fantastic (I said this earlier in the thread but I wanted to reiterate)
3) I'd forgotten all about that really creepy smile Angewomon pops up and does in the corner during the Nefertimon digivolution sequence :lol

I need to watch that, I missed that creepy smile.

Considering the closeness the angels and demons of Digimon have with the angels and demons of Christian theology, maybe that's a photo of Angewomon considering becoming Ophanimon and entering Falldown Mode or just doing a Slide Evolution into LadyDevimon because she secretly hates Kari's Mary Sue tendancies along with the Dark Ocean Plot Cul-de-Sac and wants to take over the Digital World like your typical one-note villian.

So, does anybody know when they'll start airing Digimon Fusion? Cause everything I've seen has just said that it airs in 2013.

Apparently it airs in Fall 2013 which could mean either October or November.

Or December.
December is "Fall" until the 21st...

Yeah that's what I don't like about the disconnect between the Gregorian Claendar and the Solstices and Equinoxes.

I'm about ready to be that Fusion starts airing before Megaforce finishes airing.

I've got up to episode 30 on 02 now (I'm getting through it a lot faster than I expected) and I've started to enjoy it a lot more, but the flaws are VERY obvious.

Ken is just about the only interesting (new) character in the show. Yolei is annoying, Cody frustrating, Davis strays between decent (when paired with Ken) and extremely annoying and TK/Kari are just dull Mary Sues. Some of the older Digidestined have become much more likeable - particularly Joe and Matt.

I've expressed my disdain toward the champion forms before, but now I've realised an even bigger problem with it - they're not just ugly, they're almost completely worthless. While the 01 champion forms had 2 arcs of being used, these show up and are overtaken by DNA digivolving 5 episodes later.

Yea I know you might like them more if you watching it subbed if its the dub your watching cause they all sound better and the narrator from 01 and 02 is the adult TI at the end of 02

I'm watching the dub. I'll never be able to get into the sub for Adventure 01 or 02 because I think half the Japanese names suck.

Tailmon being the worst offender.

As I said earlier in the thread I don't get on with the Digimon sub at all. Whether it be Digimon, Pokémon, Beyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh, DBZ etc etc I grew up wit those on Jetix and Cartoon Network with the English voice cast so ingrained in my memories that it physically sounds wrong to me to hear it in Japanese, even if the sub is technically better.

Yeah, that's a factor too.

I used to be like as well with dragonball z but then when it came t z Kai I was only able to get it uncut online subbed and I got used it I think I'm a purest when comes to cut or uncut due to I like every think uncut that's why I like my 01 dual audio I download it has Japanese uncut footage and opening with fox kids dub and and Japanese dub

Basically a cardgame where you have to match the types to attack. You then can get the other Digimon in the form of Digieggs then "fuse" (not DNA digivolve or Digixros) Digimon to level up your Digimon

Not really. Wasn't yours Crusader? Plus, the game came out 2012. If you thought of it before then, it wasn't really taken :)

So I just finished up Adventure 02 for the first time (stopped midway through the Arukenimon arc when I first watched it) and while I didn't think it was as good as the first season, it still was decent.

The positives:
- Ken. Easily the standout character of the entire show.
- Armour Digivolution
- DNA Digivolution. While Paildramon has always been cool, I didn't expect to end up liking Silphymon and Shakkoumon as well. Even if they are a little unorthodox
- The obvious theme of human weakness, corruption and redemption.
- The old Digidestined.

The negatives:
- Every other new character.
- Kari.
- BlackWarGreymon being emo.
- There being no point to Daemon.
- Ugly champion forms (bar Stingmon)
- The obvious theme human weakness, corruption and redemption essentially meaning nothing because they were all being manipulated by MaloMyotismon. The whole message just came across as "humans are never instinctively bad, but evil Digimon are".
- The ending.

You forgot Paildramon and how when he comes along everyone else becomes backround noise.

You mean Imperialdramon? Silphymon and Shakkoumon had their fair share of cool moments that came after Paildramon's introduction.

I will agree it eventually became the Davis and Ken show though, just like Adventure 01 become the Tai and Matt show.

Man, I hate ExVeemon's muscled dino-dragon design. Looks so dumb.

Anyway, at least in Adventure, characters like Izzy and Kari still had purpose to be there (Though, I still never understood that Digimon queen stuff they were doing for her in Adventure), in 02, it felt like, more often than not, it was Imperialdramon doing the fighting, the others being meatshields for Imperialdramon (I could be wrong, having not seen 02 in years, but that's what it felt like).
And finally, someone else acknowledges how emo Blackwargreymon was acting.

Yeah. After the fantastic Flamedramon and Raidramon it was difficult having to see that almost every episode.

Kari is just an odd character in general. With all the Queen stuff in 01 and then throughout 02 they try to make out like she's either got some higher importance or some significant link to the darkness like Ken does. And neither thing really amounts to anything.

That was pretty much the case whenever they were all in one place yeah. The show did do the decent thing of splitting them all up, but by then all the old Digimon had their ultimate forms back and that was more exciting.

Veemon got the shaft for champion forms, with his other option being the fatass Greymon expy, Veedramon.

It really does they kept trying to make Kari plot relevant, but just didn't know what to do beyond just saying "This girl is important."

I'm still not a fan of Imperialdramon.

I'm pretty sure his popularity at the time stemmed from being a black repaint and that the "Who am I? What am I? What is my purpose?" kind of emo anime character wasn't quite done to death at the time (At least, not on Western shores).

Yea, Imperialdramon. Sorry. But that's why I loved 03 so much. All the digidestined remained equal. Even when Juri was kidnapped and became a focus, she never became THE focus.

I liked Wargreymon. The emo-ness got a little old after a while, but I still love him.

I never really liked Omnimon either. DNA-Digivolution is very hit or miss when it comes to design.

BlackWargreymon may be very emo but hi's voice is smexy so he gets a pass for me.

His clashing arms are part of the allure. My only issue is that his sword is his left arm. I really have no idea why that gets to me as much as it does :lol

Blackwargreymon has a fine VA, but his character just gets old.

The fact he only appears in four movies and the tail end of Data Squad?

His sparring presence makes him all the better!
He wasn't overexposed. When you see Omnimon, you know it's time to get hype.

This is even proven in the third part of Xros Wars. Even though the main heroes all go into their most powerful form, who delivers the final blow that wipes out the remaining MaloMyotismons and VenomMyotismons? Imperialdramon Fighter Mode.

I guess I'm an odd ball, I love Digimon. I like every everything I've seen, which is Adventure Season 1 through Frontier. I haven't seen anything after that yet, just haven't had the time to invest in catching up like I would like to (sorry, that award goes to Gundam *swoon*).

What really gets me with Digimon are the designs, but really, I grew up watching it and have never found it dull or bad. I think it's great overall, the dubs have their moments but generally pretty good imo. That said, I'm slowly buying the recent DVD releases.. but I'd prefer to go back and watch the individual series subbed. Dubbed anime really isn't my favorite way to watch anime, but Digimon is pretty well done.

Tamers was the best series overall, hands down. Frontiers has some of the coolest Digimon designs in the franchise, I really enjoyed it. It has it flaws, like every Digimon series does and is weaker than the others, but I think it's great overall. I think Adventure gets a tough rep, but really I consider it a pretty good series. I will always love Adventure Season 1, it set the Adventure Season 2 has it's drawbacks, but I really I like.

My favorite Digimon.. That's a tough one, I always struggle with favorites. Well, I really like Beelzebmon, Myotismon, Weregarurumon, Angemon, and Omnimon/Omegamon. It's really tough to choose between them really. I'd probably go with Omnimon overall.

I just wish the Digimon D-Arts line would do better so we could get more Digimon figures and faster.
