Well, that was something. :lol
|
I liked it. The whole color switching thing is pretty damn cool. Yeah IMAGINATION is silly, and its for kids, (but I like how they put it in English). And the only complaint was the poor special effects when the minions exploded, really looked bad in my opinion. But otherwise, I do like it. Should be a fun series, and....MALE PINK RANGER....that is all.
Also, I guess the name in english is basicall Express Sentai Limited Express Rangers? (or whatever the ger means, google said tokkyu means limited express). And, what does the gou mean after the japanese number? Like Sun Gou, Ichi Gou? |

The gou is pretty much the japanese equivalent to #.
1Gou/Ichigou = #01/Number 01 |
ToQIchigou! ToQIchigou! I hate that a little bit in the show. It just takes twice as time to finish the roll call and transformation.
|
Anyone get the feeling that unlike other Sentai, the giant mecha battles are invisible to the general populace? Or that they don't even physically affect the world?
|
Caught episode 1 last night. Overall I enjoyed it, although it was a bit sillier than I thought it was going to be. But that's okay, nothing wrong with silly. Loved all the train jokes and references (the Crow having to get behind the white line was great, as was Right forgetting to scan his pass). I liked the scrolling text on the Rainbow Line cars ("Next Stop: ToQ Punch!") as well.
The Shadow Line designs were sharp, for the most part. I also liked their base, with the many different spur lines coming out of it. I liked the IMAGINATION! stuff at the beginning, where what the kids imagined was real. And then the very scary idea of the girl being kidnapped while right next to her mother, as a parent, that was creepy. I had passed on both Go-Busters and Kyoryuger but I will be watching this one. So looks like this episode did it's job. |

I was thinking since the whole imagination aspect is played up, perhaps the battle happens on a different plane or is a psychological battle or something. :D |

Yep the battles are as real as in any other Super Sentai. Nobody noticing two giants duke it out in the middle of the city is nothing new to be honest. In Kyoryuger the general public rarely acknowledged the Zyudenryu fighting with the Deboss Monsters.

The lack of city-smashing in these fights is more of a budgetary thing than anything else, I think. Much like how Ultraman Ginga conveniently takes place on a mountain so that the fights are in an open area. Regarding the roll call, I liked it. I assumed that the names being called twice was a reference; like that when a JR train comes into the station, it's name is called twice? Considering all of the other dedicated train gags, it seems to fit. |

The only Den-O crossover I want to see is with New Den-O and the original Imagin as far in the background as possible :lol

Not so much 4-Imagin action and not so much Ryutaro for me please (if there's one rider protagonist I really hate, then he's the one x,D). Though I'd be fine with Sieg and Deneb. And Teddy, of course, because Teddy is awesome, just like Koutaro. |
Especially since "old Den-O" doesnt really exist anymore. Its the Imagin that transform completely without the need of a human host and thats kinda lame imo.

I want to see a real crossover but it'll never happen. Takeru Satoh has distanced himself as far as he can from Kamen Rider. I doubt he'd even be in the Heise/Showa Taisen film, even though the ToQgers will have a role in it. And that's by far the best opportunity to cross over. Original Den-O still exists, his character has just been forgotten about over time because neither of the actors who played him wish to do so any more. So the easiest and most logical next choice is Momotaros, which is fantastic. Kotarou/New Den-O is out as well. He hasn't been seen since "Let's Go Kamen Riders". I believe his actor is doen with Kamen Rider as well. So in the end we have the chance for the 5 Imagin to team-up with the 5 ToQgers. Which sounds like the greatest consolation prize of all time to me. I don't even know how someone can appreciate Den-O and not like the Imagin. If you have Den-O in a crossover without them, it's almost pointless if you ask me. I'd kill to see Momo, Urataros, Kintaros, Ryutaros, & at least Sieg team up with the ToQgers. Throw Deneb in the mix too while we're at it. I'm desperately hoping they at elast show up to give the Den-Liner Ressha to the ToQgers. |

Thing with Den-O is excpet for New Den-O/Teddy,Zeronos/Deneb and Owner I dont care for anything that has to do with the Den-O series. |

The Ryutaro/Imagin relationship is integral to the story. |
I never said that I care for Den-O as a series :lol
|
I'm starting to think I might be the only person on the boards to like Momotaros and Kintaros. (Urataros isn't bad, but I've never been much of a fan of Ryutaros.) I'd love to see an Owner/Conductor bit, to be sure, but Momo and Deneb I think would fit the absurd humor of ToQger quite well. New Den-O just doesn't resonate with me quite as much as the original story crew. (Of course, I would never say no to more Naomi, either. Mana, yes. Naomi, no. :lol)

I can just imagine the zany antics that the ToQgers could have with these guys. Man it'd be awesome. |
I just finished watching Den-O myself, and i have to say I loved it and would love them making a special/movie with the Imagins, Ryutaaro, and Yuuto.
Momo could be like the Red ranger, Urataros (blue), Deneb (green), Kintaros (yellow), and Ryutaros (purple) and maybe sieg as a white ranger... would definitely be worth watching And please excuse me for going off topic slightly, but, i cannot contain my excitement cos Den-O was that good. I loved all the characters apart from Kai cos of how weird and undeveloped he was. the touching moments and general interactions between the Ryutaaro and the Imagins were brilliant, and throw in Yuuto and Deneb as well = PERFECTION. |

I loved Den-O, the Imagin were great. Aside from Ryutaros, his kiddin was got on my nerves. Sieg thank zordon was just there a couple episodes and then forgotten about aside from movies.
But my favorite has to be Deneb and Yuuto. I think they has more of a relationship than Ryotarou and the Taros. |
Loved this episode and its gag manga feel. ^^

Finally watched the episode proper and...It didn't do anything for me. Aside from the literal final lines, it didn't hook me at all. The villain designs are nice, if that's something, at least...
I'll keep watching because pilot episodes tend to be of poorer quality than the rest of the series, but I'm just not as in love as everyone else is. |
We are getting a Den-O Ressha. I would be shocked if a crossover of some kind doesn't happen.
