It may explain why nobody is picking Precure up. Come on, give Precure to a company that will sub it properly!

If powerpuff girls and Magic Little Pony had success over here in the states, I expect no different if Precure was set up over here either.

It's a Toei thing, so Saban would dub it and Nickelodeon would air 20 episodes at 7:00 every other Sunday morning for a year and then canceled due to "unforeseen poor ratings."

Ok... Smile Precure is really quickly becoming my favorite precure season. Everything so far is just really awesome and great within the first 6 episodes already. The Chemistry between each character is nicely well done, and the fact that they keep on introducing new characters for the story doesn't feel forced or anything of sorts. Even though each the next 4 main characters becoming precure is pretty much the same way for the rest, to me at least dosen't feel bland once they're introduced. Another thing I really love about Smile Precure is everything is answered, like "Why they're called the Smile Precures", or Why can't they use their finisher attack multiple times. Really loving this season a while bunch.

It's trickier than that, in Italy Precure was dubbed and aired in a channel called RAI, there have been comments bout RAI not airing any more shows after HeartCatch due to Saban getting the license.

I never found the original news article, and in any case it would only affect europe, all izz well people.

Besides people are going crazy over that since 2013.

Smile gets a lot of hate for having a lot of filler. There's no real story arc, just random goofy happenings, which is great assuming you like the characters. It's not one of my favourite seasons, but it does have some really great episodes and yeah, the dynamics between the characters is probably the best it's ever been, aside from Heartcatch.

It doesn't really have that much HeartCatch, what Marine gets is hilarious, and it does have a frigging Moonlight/Ace team-up, but as a whole they aren't the focus.

I'd prioritize DX3 (the Suite/Heartcatch team-up) over this one.

It sucks that not even Max Heart wasn't dubbed, I really enjoyed the Futari Wa Dub.

I've started watching Yes 5 recently and I've got to say, so far, it's by far my least favourite season. Aside from the characters being extremely one dimensional, the romance plot is really unsettling. Not only is this guy really a talking raccoon plushie that the girls occasionally carry around, he's also their school teacher who frequently dashes out of class with one or more of them or is late because he's busy doing things with them.

What is it with Japan and thinking grown men dating middle school students is romantic? I'm pretty sure someone would have called the cops by the third episode.

I don't mind the cast as much as I mind the disconnect between the civilian and precure sides, pinky collecting is incredibly simple and as a result most battle happen just... because?
You take all the Cure business away and it'd mostly be the same show.

Considering he's a teacher, he'd have to be at least 5 years older than the girls and that's being really generous, but I'm guessing they avoided giving him an official age specifically to avoid that issue.

I don't think there's much of a disconnect between the civilian and hero sides, but there's definitely a huge problem just keeping the characters personalities straight. Coco (and Nuts to a lesser degree) are completely different people when they're in fairy form. Rin changes from being the typical sporty tomboy to being mushy-mushy over boys and wanting to make jewellery. There's even an episode where the characters worry about Nozomi (the lazy, scatterbrained, klutz) because "she's never late!".

And Milk is a terrible, terrible person who isn't remotely endearing. She does nothing but cause trouble for Nozomi, blame her for things that go wrong, she steals from her, insults her, refuses to apologise, all while the other characters are just like "don't be so hard on Milk!".

I'd always heard that this was one of the more popular seasons and I'm really struggling to see why. Perhaps it's just more well regarded in Japan.

Been watching Happiness Charge and I will say... I am enjoying it so far and I am absolutely in love with Aino Megumi aka Cure Lovely, The big love spreading throughout the world!

The villains are really enjoyable and I just love with Cures in this. Cure Princess is also very adorable and she reminds me of when I was in middle school. Like a female version of me basically. :)

And Ribbon is just so adorable and loveable! She's always encouraging Hime and then we have Blue-sama~! Love the guy. But... I'm starting to wonder if Deep Mirror is Blue or if he is like an evil version of him, since in the mirror, it is obviously Blue's size and appearance. But I will just have to find out... :)

I could go on for hours talking about Cure Lovely, Princess, Honey and Fortune but I can't post long posts. :lol

It was a serviceable debut, nothing really stood out for me til the fight scene, which was really fluid and dynamic, also the animation does seem more consistent than HapCha.

The new season had a pretty strong start, but much of that might be down to my dislike of Happiness Charge. The main character already has a lot more going on personality wise than Megumi ever did and she's not as overt as Mana, so that makes a nice change. She's sort of a more awkward version of Miyuki, though I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up dropping some of those traits when she's more settled in.

The boarding school setting is a bit different from what we usually get and did they say it was an all girls school too? Got to wonder if that's a reaction to what happened with Happiness Charge.

The plot is the typical Precure thing so far, but I at least liked seeing a return to the main character having a friend or two outside the Precure group (assuming she doesn't become our fourth)

Cute Flora is my new favorite lead precure after watching the first episode she knocked off Cure Heart which was pretty hard since I've watched about 5 or 6 seasons I believe? But yea Haruka is totally awesome for me.

So I watched this new Precure Princess thingy, because I had nothing better to do. Tell you what, it isn’t even bad. Won't continue with it since it isn’t interesting me in any shape or form, but man these girls pack a punch! After I'm always annoyed how Sailor Moon is just about throwing shit until Tuxedo Mask shows, then throw stuff again (for real this time), these girls actually kick some ass. That's pretty awesome. The message it brings over is also quite nice.

But since the major magical girl-things I don't enjoy much are still there, I'm not going to bother watching more of it. I can see now why people like Precure though.

Which series has the least annoying mascots Heartcatch mascots aren't that obxiounous compared to some others and I think that has been one of the good parts of heartcatch, as well as heart catch being a good show in general.

Fresh is has one that actually talks normally, Doki Doki the mascots are actually important for the precures Henshin devices.

Well, technically Tart has a kansai accent.

Fresh and Suite had great mascot characters. Candy in Smile wasn't terrible either, there was at least only one of her. The ones in DokiDoki are quite likable and get some actual character development and the Happiness Charge ones aren't too intrusive (I barely remember them).

They are by far the worst parts of the original few seasons though.
