Getting back to the threads topic, anyone else keep up with Gaoranger through Go Onger as if its the Disney Era? Just a way I remember the series names I guess.

How is it decided whether additional members are part of the primary team, or 6th/extra/others?
Like, why are characters like Big One, GekiViolet, and GekiChopper treated as part of the main team, but characters like AbareKiller, the Gouraigers, or Beet Buster presented as if they were 6th or extra rangers, despite still being introduced later in the series?

Or how someone like Abarekiller is considered a sixth ranger when he's the fifth member of the team.

It was Big One vs AbareKiller that actually got me thinking on the question, really.

Id like to know why AbareKiller is considered sixth yet GekiChopper isnt. I mean Red, Blue, and Yellow, then a fourth member, Black/Violet, then the fifth member who is primarily white and has his own mecha, one is considered sixth, the other a basic team member. Always confuses me.

I guess it's because AbareKiller was a villain first, but I don't think that's a solid reason...

No. GekiViolet is in the place of Black. So when Gokai Green goes into Geki he's Violet.

It was about a comparison between Abaranger and Gekiranger in terms of character order.
AbaRed, AbareBlue, and AbareYellow/GekiRed, GekiBlue, and GekiYellow as the primary team.
AbareBlack and GekiViolet as an additional member
AbareKiller and GekiChopper as a final member.

The comparison was just about how why, the 5 member of both teams, both white rangers, had different ranger status.
GekiViolet and AbareBlack's coloration had nothing to do with it.

I think Ohranger is more misunderstood, since a good majority who scream "It almost killed Sentai!" have never actually seen it.

And with Ohranger it wasnt really that the show is bad.

The interest in Sentai was going down for years and with what happened in Japan during the time Ohranger aired it wasnt surprising that most people didnt enjoy what the show was doing in its early episodes.

Yeah, I never understood why it's so loathed.

Me neither. Most of it seems to stem from it coming right after Shinkenger a show alot of people loved and Goseiger being nothing like that show and then be followed by Gokaiger another show so many people went crazy over.

By that regard we could probably throw Go-Busters into the lot of Sentais that get a lot of flack as well.

There are 21 episodes of Ohranger subbed right now and I think Goseiger gets a lot of unwarranted hatred. Ohranger gets it too though.

As for my favorite 6th. I'm going to have to say.... Kyoryu Cyan. I know technically he was like 7 or 8. But he's like the first fat person to be a ranger/sentai that I can recall. Go Ramirez!!! Plus his dino was ankylosaur' one of my favs.

The one in the first picture is Raita aka Yellow Owl from the 1991 Sentai Show Chojin Sentai Jetman :)

First one is Yellow Owl from Jetman, you need to fix not knowing the wonders of Jetman. It's one of the greats.

Kiranger is 70's fat, which isn't as big as how most fat characters look today. Like I said, his only character trait was stuffing his face with food.

I just watched the episode of Gaim that your avatar is from Baron. It was a funny scene.

This is very common for male yellow rangers in earlier seasons, I have noticed. Val Panther only eats. The one episode I have seen (through 35 episodes) where he wasn't eating, he was following a kid around, but he ate at the beginning of the episode. He only character trait is that he eats curry. Daita also loves curry, I believe....hmm....

Hikaru in Gingaman was a bit of a face stuffer too.

I wonder if Ninninger's Sixth Ranger would be comix relief like Genta from Shinkenger? And second why they put comic relief sixth ranger if Ninninger is not dark Sentai show?
