Watched Little Witch Academia. Being only 26 minutes long its fair predictable on the plot front, but Trigger really delivered on the visual. I'm even more excited to see their first proper series now.

Little Witch Academia, eh? I'll have to give that a look later in the week. Sounds interesting to say the least.

I just realized that in two of my favorite anime, the main character dies. Sadly. Light (Kira) in Death Note (I was far less sad when Misa died. Misa was a slut and needed killed before her sluttiness spread like a disease), and LeLouch in Code Geass. His death was saddest of sad of sadness.

Okay... now get back to Eureka Seven. :p

So started watching Danball Senki WARS

The main set up is so far interesting, but the first two episodes have been kinda boring. Lots of exposition It's basically Yu-Gi-Oh! GX without the ridiculous premise of an entire school devoted to teaching people to playing a god damned card game.

Basically, the students of a school run war time simulations and even become part of fictional nations divided up by their year or class.

So far so good though. I like the different tone they've set up with the battles, and I'll probably be following this weekly along with Valvrave.

I normally oppose Death Note, but I'll keep my yap shut because I finally found someone else who didn't feel anything when Misa jumped...
Damn, I hated her.

My only exposure to Death Note so far has been the live action movies and a few episodes of the anime and I think I'm better for it.

The Anime seems like it's more dragged out from what I remember of it.

The problem with Death Note was that, for my circle of friends, for a while, that was all they'd talk about. So it was either keep up with DN and join the conversation or sit in silence.

Still watching Gintama over here.

That's the main reason why I can't watch animes like Full Metal Alchemist, Nartuo, Bleach, ETC.

Not to say there's anything wrong with the series themselves, but everyone talks like they're animes that you SHOULD watch, it gets to the point where it's like they're trying to shove it down your throat...

I felt something. Abject joy.

Death Note the Anime does tend to drag. They could've made the series about four episodes shorter, but it's still good enough I'd recommend watching it if you haven't before.

Or read the manga.

I remember, I was actually afraid of watching FMA after being disappointed with Naruto and Bleach (And One Piece) because those were the anime my friends would never stop talking about.
I am glad I tried FMA, because I actually enjoyed it, but I understand how you feel.

But generally speaking, if you think the anime has potential, but is dragging, it's a good idea to try the manga before you drop it altogether.

I just started watching "Tiger & Bunny". first episode really pulled me in. i also love how some of the sponsors on the show are IRL companies (S.H.Figuarts, Tamashii, Pepsi, Ustream, ETC.).

I know, I feel the fabric of reality ripping open as we speak :lol

But I'm about to disagree with you and make things right in te universe again. I liked Naruto, and Bleach, and One Piece. But they all suffer from the same Shonen Jump problem. Filler Episodes. Naruto is the worst offender. Bleach and One Piece aren't as bad, but they're up there. There are entire twelve episode archs of Naruto that are nothing but filler. The time between Naruto and Sasuke's final battle and the time jump is an excellent example. Bleach does about four in a row sometimes.

The overabundance of filler is their biggest hindrance, but not their only one.
Naruto and Bleach keep hitting logical ends, but then a villain will almost literally pull a plot twist out their ass, keeping the series going for another 60 episodes or 80 chapters.

It's reached the point where you could give both series a "Kai" treatment in addition to removing dumb plot twists and improve the series greatly.

Tiger and Bunny is awesome. Glad you're enjoying it!

Death Note the anime was pretty underwhelming. Once the stuff with Near and Mello hit, the show was a real chore to watch. I thought the live action movies were much better, and the ending far more satisfying.

Wait... When did Misa die? In the anime she was the only one left unharmed due to her loosing her memory.

I just started Yuyushiki. Don't doubt me when I say this is hands-down the most generic show I have ever seen. Absolutely nothing about it feels original. That's fine though. It works well as something to numb the mind after a long day.

Honestly, I prefer the live-action Death Note movies. It's all the best parts of the anime with a better ending than the anime.

... Dude she died in the Anime. Right after Light. Or before Light... In that final episode somewhere.

Sweet! Tiger & Bunny is an awesome show.

She lost her memory, but she was still madly in love with Light. It isn't outright shown in the anime, but it's implies she commits suicide right at the very end. Its the movies she survives in.

I sometimes think Light planned the entire last episode solely so he would die, and never have to see Misa again.

I might watch "Haiyoru! Nyaruko san" after i finish "Tiger and Bunny" for an obvious reason.

Hey, In FanService News: High School of the Dead is coming back. As an anime, or if they're just going to drop the pretending it's not and make it a full on hentai, I have no idea. But it's coming back.

That was actually the very anime that made me realize that I was no longer an otaku nor weeaboo, and that anime as a whole had nothing further to offer me as a form of entertainment.

High School of the Dead was what made me realize anime wasn't worth watching, anymore.

My two cents:

Ok...not all anime is high school of the dead...that would be like watchinng fish hooks and saying "All American cartoons are stupid."

Let's look at anime that came out after high school of the dead:

Madoka Magica (yes, I know you said you dislike magical girl animes, but looking at it objectively...the quality is quite good.)

I'm not an otaku or anything, but I just don't think you should just give up on all anime after watching one really bad one, there are good anime shows out there.

That's fair enough. And I do occasionally watch anime, having watched Tiger and Bunny, and checking out Digimon Xros Wars, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Clannad, while also having gone back and re-watching GaoGaiGar (And FINAL).

But it was just disheartening. Seeing that not only is it common these days, but generally accepted as supplanting story, plot, and interest for mindless fanservice.
I didn't want to associate myself with being an anime fan if the general practice is "Shower scenes and beach episodes are more important than plot."

*Raises hand* Bleach has little fanservice. Only that one beach episode was all fan service, everything else isn't. (And yes I'm ignoring Miss Big Boobs.. Both of them)

I don't shun that kind of fanservice, though it can be needless and excessive sometimes. I enjoy the referential type of fanservice more. For instance, in the most recent episode of Hayate no Gotoku, a fluffy green bird suit was used and it was labeled "TaJaDol Combo" and that was horribly amusing.

I actually watched Bleach for some time. I think I stopped when Aizen kept bullshitting his way through.

The problem is just that. When "Fanservice" pretty much become commonly refers to the more sexual variety than general shout outs and fan nods, it's clear how I have an issue with it. I do try to tolerate it (I'm not just shutting off an anime because someone shows up in a bikini), but it just seems to occur at every turn in every episode to the point that I'm just not enjoying what I'm seeing.

The series isn't off to a bad start by any means, but they sure give a lot of focus on the bits involving the high school students that I sometimes forget that I'm watching a mecha anime.

The series isn't bad by any means, they've set up a lot of interesting ideas and plot elements and I'm eagerly awaiting to see what the payoff is…it's just that it seems to be incredibly slowly paced.

Eh it's not a terrible series, so I'm probably going to keep following it.

You know a while back when I said that you should never watch before going to bed? Well I was wrong... The show you should never watch before going to bed is Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni.

Yup. According to the bump tonight on Toonami they're starting One Piece... 200 episodes in.

Because CN hasn't pissed me off enough. (Canceled Green Lantern, and Young Justice. Show stupid kiddish Teen Titans Go! in it's place)

Honestly, starting One Piece over AGAIN would be the dumbest decision they could ever do. No one would want to tune in for the Buggy arc with different voices for a 4th time.
One Piece is turning into the biggest time sink for English anime these days...

Oh, and give Teen Titans Go a chance. It's rather enjoyable.

No. I hated it when it came on DC Shorts, I'm not sitting through it for a full half hour. The only DC Short I want made into a show is that anime Chinese Batman one. That was epic.
