Podermen are my favorite Sentai footsoldiers because have to be the most hapless ones in the whole series. All others get at least a shred of dignity, however small, from the rangers fighting them properly, showing them a tiny bit of attention and respect as opponents. But the poor Podermen are often just caught in the crossfire between two teams who care more about fighting each other

Pordermen definitely are one of the best-designed grunts along with the Kuro Combatants from Toqger and the Mechaclones from Bioman imo. :rock:

They both decide to stay on Earth at the end of their shows while the rest of the team goes into space. I definitely see the connection. But if it happens again, fans will think Justin has spacephobia.

Rather not have spacephobia for Justin. Have him travel through space for a while with his new friend until he decides to come back home to earth and help the new rangers.

In JAKQ, Diamond Jack, who is a boxer, uses a sword, while the flying fist is given to the Clover King. I think this is stupid both within the show (because the hero does not use the talent for which he was chosen) and outside of it (because it creates a distinction for the viewer between the transformed character and the regular one).

Here's what I was thinking. Could Trini saving Billy in the second episode of MMPR be inspired by June saving Shota Yamamori from Bioman? It seems like Bioman was the one who came up with the idea for PR. Plus, Yellow Ranger saving a guy in the mountains. It seems like nothing specific, but that's the association I had.

Plausible theory. Bioman is the likely candidate for Saban's "saw Sentai while flipping channels in a Japanese hotel room" story.

Here's an idea I had. If Jetman had aired 10+ years later, Birdman Dan from Back Dimension Dimensian Soldiers would have likely survived and remained as the show's Sixth Senshi.
It would also be interesting to see how this would affect the show as a whole. From what little was shown of him, this is essentially Gai in miniature, both in plot and character. So it would at least be interesting to see how Gai would react to his less mature, but therefore also more amenable to change version. And how this would affect the fate of the Black Condor himself.
True, there is another detail that the reality where Jetman emerged in the early 2000s most likely remained without any of the iconic Kamen Rider shows.

Possible. Personally, if they had a 10 years after special I would've loved to see Jeff/Green Eagle from that epilogue manga in live action. Would've been befitting too being its 10th anniversary special and it releasing during when Super Sentai celebrated 25 years.

With Gozyuger nearing its final arc/portion of its story, I hope the final episode's opening clip is another special one that's newly shot with You Be One Winner playing but the chorus is the second chorus which has Gozyuger in the lyrics.

An incredible idea suddenly occurred to me. What if Toei had sent Toshiki Inoue to help with PR in the 90s and Saban allowed him to work on the script? I imagine it would have been an American high school soap opera, like Beverly Hills, 90210, with the obligatory tokusatsu attributes.

They should come up with a better way to celebrate a Sentai season anniversary rather than just releasing DVDs and Blu-Rays.

I grew up on Power rangers but aside from that movie reboot, I haven't watched it since I was a kid. So when I watched Zyuranger as my intro to Sentai, I absolutely loved having Power rangers nostalgia + discovery of something new and exciting. Now, I'm 10 years in and have seen muliple seasons. However, even though I had hopes to, I never got around to watching Dairanger or Kakuranger. But lately I've been having a craving to go back and revisit mmpr.

So I'm wondering - should I revisit mmpr first? Or should I hold off and finally get around to watching Dairanger and Kakuranger first? What do you all recommend?

Well, if you have the desire, why resist it? MMPR has its advantages, otherwise the show wouldn't have spawned such a long-running franchise.
Although, for me personally, rewatching it was disappointing because I realized how stupid the writers consider their audience. I understand some Japanese yōkai can't be adapted directly, but Greek mythology is something we learn at the end of elementary school. And what about fairy tales? Most of the target demographic is certainly at least briefly familiar with them. So I think if the Minotaur weren't such a popular monster, they'd have named him Cow-Boy and voiced him with a Texan accent.
So for me personally, the peak of PR is from In Space to Wild Force.

I’d watch MMPR first, that way you can get a ton of “Oh, that’s what that was!” moments when you watch the Sentais. Especially for Kakuranger because MMPR changed so much of it.

I had always intended to watch Dairanger and Kakuranger first, and now I'm starting to go in the other direction. But instead of being impulsive, I'm trying to be intentional to make sure I get the best experience. So basically, I'm asking: will watching mmpr first make Dairanger worse in any way? Adding fuel to the fire of endless debate isn't the best idea, but I've come up with an idea on the topic of PR vs. SS that I'd like to share. I'll start from afar, but I'll eventually return to the topic to express my idea more clearly.
If you ask most people in the world, "Wooden boy who came to life," they'll answer, "Pinocchio."
But people from the post-Soviet space, like me, will start chanting:
"Bu-ra-ti-no!"
And it's not because they didn't know about Pinocchio or banned him. I remember a tattered book in the school library and a beautifully illustrated one at my cousin's. The Disney cartoon was also shown on TV.
It's just that Alexei Tolstoy's 1936 fan fiction about friendship, adventure, and revolution in a puppet theater was much more popular with Soviet children than the moralizing original Collodi with its biblical references. Just as the Disney cartoon lost out to 1959's "The Golden Key." And then came the 1975 live-action film with its iconic songs, which cemented the victory.

Why am I telling you all this? To convey one idea: back in the USSR, Buratino win fairly. And I'm sure that if MMPR and Zyuranger had been shown simultaneously on American television in 1993, most viewers would have liked the American adaptation more. At least, that's certainly true for the target audience. But that wasn't possible. And it's precisely this sense of injustice, conscious or not, that sometimes drives Super Sentai fans to excessive and unjustified anger toward PR. Or maybe it's one of the reasons.
Also, an interesting fact for general literacy: unlike Geppetto in the original, who is Pinocchio's only parent, Buratino's situation is different. He was made by the carpenter Giuseppe for his friend, the organ grinder Carlo (the two old men in the video). So, Buratino has two fathers. And this happened in the 1936 fairy tale! So Alexey Tolstoy was a very progressive writer. So much so that in the latest adaptation, from 2025, Giuseppe was removed, making Carlo a single parent.

I think 50 years of history will keep this topic alive. I'm sure sooner or later someone will want to share their thoughts on Gingaman, for example. But whether Project Red needs a separate thread remains to be seen.Especially considering that he already automatically received separate themes for episodes, which neither Ultraman, nor Garo, nor even Dogengers were awarded.

I had that thought too, but since Project R.E.D. seems to be the successor to Sentai moving forward, it feels more important than just "other" - it's already one of the big three. Metal Heroes not having one makes sense because it wasn't ongoing. And honestly...I have a feeling we'll get Sentai seasons again, they'll just fall under the larger Project R.E.D. banner.

BUT for now, I think what you said makes the most sense. It's really just a sequel to an old Metal Heroes at this point. Interesting how Gavan was what replaced Rider in the 90s and is now what will replace Sentai. It's all over the place haha

Which has me wondering what the average Taro Tanaka who grew up on Metal Heroes since, let's go with Jiban, thought when he heard Metal Heroes is ending and he has to watch Kamen Rider as of 2000.

Probably something like, "Tetsuo Kurata is back in the lead role?" and "I wonder how long Kamen Riders will last this time?" But I think Toei tried to make sure the transition was met with enthusiasm. Although Kabutack has its fans, too. The Chinese special of 2025 is proof of this.
