Okay guys big new rumors this time, so I've seen this float around a lot today and it's new info regarding potential staff, the most important being that the head writer could be Shoji Yonemura. For those who don't know his most notable works are being the head writer for Kabuto & writing the second half of Decade. There's also a brief summary of what could potentially Gotchards plot.

There's also another rumor that was said by a Chinese leaker who actually was correct about some Gotchard stuff before so take that for what you will, apparently Masahiro Inoue will be playing the 3rd rider of Gotchard (whether it'll be Decade or him just playing a new character is unknown). Also, supposedly we'll see the return of Rider-esque rival characters ala Mashin Chaser & Night Rogue/Blood Stalk.

Again this is all rumors so there's a BIG chance this could all be 100% incorrect but it's fun for discussion nonetheless.

Masahiro Inoue is so synonymous with the role of Decade, that it's pretty hard to imagine him playing any other role within the Kamen Rider franchise. However, it's not like Toei doesn't constantly use the same actors for different roles. It could potentially lead to some funny callbacks, and there's certainly potential for future crossover shenanigans.

I don't really know what to make of the summary. I guess it's that we've just had a game-based series in Geats, and the premise sounds pretty similar to previous shows in the same vein. The gimmick sounds very Build-like to me, what with apparently mixing the organic with the inorganic and finding the winning formulae. In contrast to Geats, it seems that the Riders are supposed to work together from the get-go, but almost every Rider show tends to go that way regardless.

If these rumors are true, the characters and the action are what will make or break the show for me. I do like Gotchard's design, though.

The fact that it sounds so derivative of previous shows is also what makes me doubt the validity of these rumors, even if I certainly wouldn't put it past Toei.

I just realized that the two pair of cards we've seen so far: Steamliner (9) & Hopper (1) + Pilets (4) + Madwheel (6) all add up to 10 for each pair. Does this mean anything? Also if you pay attention on the cards for Steamliner and Madwheel there is a vehicle icon, for Hopper there is an insect icon and for Pilets there is a human icon. Perhaps these are like the attributes of the cards, like how YuGiOh has fire, darkness, earth/land, water-based, etc. attributes for different cards.

Yeah, I can't imagine Masahiro Inoue playing any character within the franchise other than Tsukasa. Maybe in some sort of one-off role during a 2-parter, but definitely not as a tertiary Rider who would presumably become a main cast member at some point.

Then again Kouhei Takeda did play both Otoya Kurenai and Kazumi Sawatari, who were both fairly important characters and Riders to their respective stories. So who knows?

Considering Shoji Yonemura is still head writing the One Piece anime right now I find it hard to imagine he'd take on a role as intensive as writing a rider series at the same time?

He did manage to head write One Piece and Pokemon Journeys at the same time though for a while so it's not impossible, but idk seems kinda unlikely to me nonetheless, rider is a pretty big commitment show that requires writing scripts basically weekly for a year

Like i'd be curious to see it, but I'd say it seems much less likely than Sanjo, who I also don't super think is that likely lol

This was exactly the example I was thinking of as well. Certainly major characters in their respective shows, but not the main character in either one and neither has been anywhere near as prevalent in any following entries as Decade has.

As I wrote in another thread, seven riders in a show is the bare minimum for Reiwa. But I can imagine extra riders being cast as villains or someone being 90% of their screen time as an assistant, transforming just to sell toys. It is also possible Drake's option, when the character was absent for most of the show, although he was formally listed in it. Finally, there is the idea of ​​having one character play multiple riders. For example, like Dan Kuroto at the beginning of Ex-Aid, being an evil rider and pretending to be an ally, but also being a "good" rider too.

Between Yonemura and Sanjo, I'll definitely pick the detective lover. Kabuto and Decade are at the very bottom of my show rankings. Also after Geats, someone closer to the viewer is needed than Tendo and Tsukasa.
As for Tsukasa... Well, given how much Gotchard looks like Ichigo, I wouldn't be surprised to see a rider that looks like Decade. But I also don't think he'll stay on the show for long. Maybe Inoue's character will just be the third rider to appear on the show, but not the tertiary one? Kind of like Buster in Saber. And in additional content, the likelihood of Decade appearing is very high due to the card theme.

The card color may also be a factor.

That being said, I don't think the cards the riders use will be the same as the ones used in the game, just from the card backs and lack of space for ability text.

Regarding the Decade rumor, the really interesting aspect is that unless I am mistaken, it wasn't so much an actor rumor as it was a supposed Chinese toy listing for a "Gotchard Tertiary Rider Decade Belt." Which I imagine means that either it's a belt similar to the DecaDriver, or it's related to Decade in some way. Also Ironheng (who has been a bit hit or miss when it comes to news) reported (I believe multiple times) that Decade's actor (and by extention, presumably Decade himself rather than a new role) would be in Gotchard.

IMO, if Decade is in Gotchard, I feel like it's either going to be

1. Regular Decade with a new belt with maybe new additions to the suit (like the Neo Decade Belt or Ultraman Z when he appeared in Trigger).

2. A belt that uses a unique card that gives him a singular Rider form based on the default Decade suit.

3. A situation similar to Revi/Vice and Ultraman Geed where they get new forms with different Riders/Utra's Devices using that Rider's gimmick.

In all honesty, I am really hoping that it is the last option, but instead of Revi/Vice/Geed's case where they kept a similar/same head design and had different suits, it would be insanely cool to see a brand new suit that has the same colors/barcode theme that Decade had, but maybe some different visual cues (like Revice Megalodon Genome). Plus, it would be fun for him to have his own cards (maybe give him Camera, Watch, Shark, or Sea Cucumber for some fun Decade references).

So yeah. As a big fan of Decade I am stoked for the possibility of a return, although I wonder the implications of him appearing. Maybe Gotchard will be also anniversary-themed, or maybe Decade showing up is more in reference to his backstory/origins of the Rider Card system.

Then the show will get the role of a whipping boy, and Geats will be remembered for a long time as a masterpiece sandwiched between two anniversary series. I still think that Decade's appearance will be limited to some kind of special.

Can't wait for Tsukasa to die for the... what are we at next now, 5th time?

I'm a pretty spoiler averse person so I don't really wanna get a bunch of info about decade and Tsukasa from Gotchard, it's a show thay I actually know very few story or character details of, and I'd like to keep it that way until I watch it lol

I know this is 100% a "me" problem but in part i wanted to mention it bc imo it would be funny to see Rider start adding legacy characters into current shows, while Ultra is currently phasing out that exact concept, likely bc it was making it hard to attract new fans

Generally I like when rider series are more self contained, as far as I know Gotchard doesn't represent any particular huge anniversary, so adding decade as a major character soley bc they share a card gimmick? Idk that sounds kinda dumb to me, it just feels like a way to alienate all the potential new fans that just hopped into the series from Shin Kamen Rider tbh... feels like bad timing all around

I love Tsukasa but I just don't feel like Decade is going to show up unless this is really marketed as an anniversary season. I think even Inoue said he wasn't sure how much more of Tsukasa he could get out as an actor.

He said this before Decade vs Zi-O, so I think these words are no longer relevant. But I also do not really believe in his appearance.

But in the end, Ryuki appeared in Geats. Does this mean that we should expect Kiva in Gotchard? But here I would rather bet on Den-O, plus they have a common theme of the train.

In this franchise, someone always comes back from the dead. Even those who are already dead in fact. If Riderman can come back, so can OOO. It's clear that the film is tied to the actor's decision not to take part in the franchise anytime soon, but he could very well change his mind on the show's 20th anniversary.

Inoue (Tsukasa) is busy with his own toku series anyways, Jisariz (it’s on YouTube so check it out) so I don’t think he will be on here.

Bro, OOO's movie, Let's Go Kamen Riders, featured several deceased characters for their All Rider Break scene, like Zanki, Dark Kabuto, Sasword, Punch Hopper, Odin, Zolda, and Kaixa.

Speaking of, Kaixa has managed to comeback several times, despite dying. Same with Showa hero Riderman.

This franchise, and it's sister franchise Sentai, are not afraid to literally say "The spirit of this hero has returned to help you fight!" or just straight up not explain how they're revived at all.

Inoue left his prior talent agency and to form his own (the one that's making F8ABA6). F8ABA6 Jisaris is a short term project. Also, it's only slated for like 13 episodes or there abouts. So while the odds of Inoue coming back are slim, they aren't non-existent.

Of course not. He played the role of a typical Diend`s rider helper, only with a face and text. Plus, I'm sure "returned to normal" is a completely wrong description of Zi-O's ending. Basically, Sougo got his ideal world where he would live with his friends and continue to dream of becoming a king.

And I keep saying that he may well come back. Shu Watanabe is alive, continuing his acting career and did nothing reprehensible. If he ever wants to return, he will return and no one will object to it.

Seeing the whole X imagery and especially with how the two arrows meet at the tips I am expecting the belt to say SET UP as a nice little tribute to Kamen Rider X. It doesnt have to be but if they make it happen that would be fun.

Alright guys here's an in depth recap of Gotchard toy leaks: First there was the leak regarding the driver and the end of Q1 power up. The first leak of the driver described it as a brick that you slot 2 cards into as seen in the image that approximates the look (keep in mind this leak came out before we got the image of Gotchard's suit/ driver and it turned out to be 100% correct so I think it's safe to trust this one), in that same leak/image it was also said that Gotchard's end of Q1 power up is a hazard trigger like attachment (not so much that it's a berserk form, just that it's a separate trinket unrelated to the gimmick that gives him a power up).

A recent leak we just got states that Gotchard will have an arrow sword (follows the theming of the gun) and a wrench gun that can turn into a sword (both can scan cards, the Decade card used as an example).

And lastly 4 listings for new toys. One describes a weapon for a Rider-esque rival character, two of them describe toys for Gotchard's 3rd Rider (new belt + rocket launcher weapon), and lastly just a listing for that hazard trigger like upgrade for Gotchard.

Keep mind with that listing for Gotchard's third Rider... it is yet another rumor that says he has something to do with Decade (describing him as Decade with an altered/new appearance). Assuming the Decade involvement is true, I have to wonder if next year being Decade's 15th anniversary has something to do with it.

Keep mind this is all still rumors, feel free to discuss away guys.

Interesting, so assuming this to be true, then Gotchard will be breaking modern Rider tradition: Normally the Tertiary is the one that gets shafted in terms of toys, but it appears this time it'll be the Secondary. :lol
