They hype up these fancy trailers so much the tonal whiplash will be insane once we watch the first episode and the guy inside the suit is introduced as Raudomasu Hakuchi, whose biggest dream is to collect all the Gachacapsules, I’m sorry, "Capsem" to impress his big brother who once called his drawing skills mid. And then nuked their hometown out of disgust for said drawing.

Oh and Hakuchi has a habit of clumsily falling down but he's so brave he gets up immediately after, proudly yelling "Good morning!" on maximum volume every time he does so.

I'm sure that once the first episode airs, all the controversies surrounding the teasers will be forgotten, as has happened many times before. I immediately recall Geats' gun, which surfaced simultaneously with the murder of the former Prime Minister, or the revelations about abuse of the employee who worked on Revice. Although, perhaps, as a representative of a not very high-tech country, I underestimate the hatred of AI. There is also always the danger that the show itself will create a new reason for hatred and that will not be forgotten so easily.
In any case, I hope that the international showing will bring new people not only to the franchise, but also to this site.

Hi! You're probably right. My general point is to encourage people to focus on the positive. Always voice what you don't like, but in a constructive way. If this bombs, how likely do we think it is that Toei will continue to make efforts to bring Rider projects to the US?

Even the most agreed upon contentious issue -the use of AI generated imagery- is worth thinking about. If I'm honest, I don't like it, either. However, we'd be jumping to conclusions to criticize it based on the teasers. We don't know if it'll even be used in episodes of the show. Even if it was, we'd have to take into account how it fits in to the storytelling. In a dream-themed show, the surreal quality of AI generated images may serve a very specific purpose.

In a broader sense, we have to look at it with a view to the past. Just as the matte painters, stop-motion animators, and model makers were eventually put out of work by the CGI programmers, the CGI programmers will likely be put out of work by "AI." The genie is out of the bottle, whether we like it or not. I'd encourage people not to throw out the baby with the bathwater, as the crusty old saying goes.

I think they will definitely try again. But maybe after 30 years.

I doubt there's going to be much AI in the actual show itself, the real footage seem like the usual Toei sets.

The weapons are cool. The shapeshifting has a very dark feel to it, especially the wings. This, coupled with the dark style of the trailers, tells me that, at least visually, the show is going to be dark. Which is interesting and unusual.

I think it's cool when forms get their own sub-forms like Drive and it gives them a reason to show up regularly.

Looks like the center lights on each side of the Driver's Capsem port are the ones that illuminate the straps.

You know I saw so many people say Fourze because of how it's kinda module based. But Drive's a much more apt comparison, especially with each Capsem relating to a different main form.

Ok I LOVE the weapon! Having one blade attach in different orientations somehow hadn't occurred to me (even despite using it in one of my own ideas), and it's such an elegant way to give it very different modes.

The sub-forms seem cool too. I'll need to see more than just glimpses of the budget figures to form more of an opinion. So far though, I'm liking how Zeztz's aesthetic is unlike any previous rider.

I wonder if that's why Toei made the base form such a strong Ichigo homage, as a way of saying "yes, even though it looks so different, this is still a Kamen Rider"? I've also noticed Reiwa so far seems to be alternating between main rider designs that strongly homage Ichigo or past riders in general (Zero-One, Revice, Gotchard, Zeztz) and ones that don't (Saber, Geats, Gavv)

I want to keep my expectations low because the last time I liked a suit/form design this much, the show ended up being a big disappointment (Wizard).

It's actually surprising that this hasn't happened before, since it's a popular theme. Most likely, Toei didn't want to bother with decorations.
It also looks like the Paradigm Wonder sickle will be used as a pickaxe for the smaller Zeztz. Which makes for a funny analogy with Vram.

This guy has like 4 different straps across his torso once he puts the belt on, lol.

I am warming up to what I am seeing of the show. The small form seems fun and I like the look of the main character's actor. The suit also looks way better in in natural light I think.

He looks very manly.

The baku is a kind of youkai that protects children by eating bad dreams, a very fitting namesake for a dream-traveling Kamen Rider!

I like his style too, he seems to be going for a more 'cool' look compared to the 'fun' looks of a lot of other Reiwa main riders, closest to Ace but a bit more rugged. It makes me hope he'll have a more cool and professional personality too, to go with the secret agent concept.

They're low quality, but I found some magazine scans! Looks like Zeztz has multiple gadgets, and I notice a few interesting details about the different forms. They each seem to use a different colored capsem, with ones in similar shades being related forms. Also, the ones with extra attachments have the boots, gloves and body lines grayed out, which makes me think the color represents some kind of power that gets concentrated into the attachments, maybe?

Interesting. Two retail toy lines:

Capsem Change Collection is 4-inch, lower-detail, and lower-priced. It incorporates Zeztz's form-shift gimmick via parts-swapping, including wings and alternate lower limbs for the Physicam Impact variations. It comes with two alternate sets of hands.

Kamen Rider Action Figure is larger, higher-detail (the texture of the black parts of the suit is present, and there's probably more paint), and higher-priced. Looks like it's more poseable, and although it doesn't have the other figure's lower limbs and wings, it comes with seemingly the same alternate sets of hands.

Both of them include an unpainted version of the sword. Both lines appear to be set to reproduce the other three forms, and the Capsem Change version will have their attachments and different limbs. Owning more than one would allow for swapping around different combinations that might not appear in the show. Pretty Fourze. I could see it appealing to kids.

You're right! Reminds me of how Mission Memories worked in Faiz, which is fitting as Zeztz is an agent who goes on missions. Another detail is that the Driver color even changes for sub-forms, as shown clearly with the yellow on Espirim Barrier.

I've changed my mind about Paradigm being my favorite after seeing the action shot, as it has less purple in the chest area than I was expecting. Now my favorite is Physicam.

Also the Japanese word for the animal tapir, which derives from the mythical beast iirc. It's another case of the giraffe-kirin/qilin situation where they have the mythical beast first but later name a never-before-seen animal that. :lolol

By the way, in the case for our titular hero, his name is written as 莫 in kanji. Apparently it means nothing or nobody depending on context.The mythical beast baku and the tapir are written as 獏 in kanji.

In essence, this trailer is a combination of previous teasers with a minimum of new footage, which is a little disappointing. But it's okay, I'm sure that the time will come for a more plot-driven presentation. In terms of forms, I can say that the zoom-out effect looks quite convincing.

Looks like some pretty standard Kamen Rider. I kind of see what you mean about the protagonist too, he reminds me of Ace and that is not a good thing in my book. At least the little sprite art when transforming is quite charming.

Well, this cut definitely has a lighter atmosphere than the promotional materials. It seems to be a case of Zero-One, where the futuristic rider in the darkness did not prepare the viewer for Aruto. However, Byaku seems to be quite an experienced rider and easily defeats the kaijins. Personally, I caught the vibe of Wizard, partly because of his spectacular abilities and some playfulness of the belt. Also, the reference to Inception did not go unnoticed. I also hope that the gun will find a use and will not be just an accessory. In the sense, even Shinosuke had the opportunity to shoot not only as a rider.

I guess it's just a difference of tastes, because I love stylish riders so to me the similarities to Ace and Wizard are a plus

Personally, I wouldn't mind a rider similar to Haruto. As for Ace, I perceived him as Geats' energy-saving mode. That is, the guy literally looked and spoke as if he was about to yawn, and at some point he literally began to sleep in episodes.

Very true. I personally like all of the Rider actors we've gotten. But I personally find it a little hilarious that people talk about not liking "hot pretty boy" actors in Kamen Rider.

Like have people not seen Hiroshi Fujioka when he started? He was hot (even now, arguably, he's one of the few people who ages very well), it's just that what people consider "pretty/hot" now is different from what people considered "pretty/hot" back then.

Just to be clear, I will never complain about hot people in tokusatsu. :lolol

I just think the protagonist has the aloof, unemotive vibe of Ace, which makes me nervous he will be pretty flat.

I think some people just want variety. I mean, Tetsuo Kurata noticeably lowered the age of the main character of Kamen Rider. Or the actor who played Hibiki, who was hot and pretty, but a man, not a boy. It's just that most of the rider protagonists are very monotonous in appearance. For example, I'm think that those who haven't watched the shows but have seen the pictures will hardly be able to tell Takumi from Kenzaki at a glance.
