Part 4.
This episode sucked in Megaforce, and wasn't much better here, but there were subtle differences here and there which made the Goseiger version much more tolerable. It is also weird the Megaforce version left Datas out as Saban usually loves that shit. But let's talk about Datas. What the hell logic is Master Head working on? He leaves a arcade machine, in an observatory, in the vague hope that there is an emergency and Gosei Angels are nearby? Why would he even use an arcade machine?! I will say that I am enjoying the character development in this show, the strong character development really does help convince us it's them in the suits as well. This is especially true of Alata, who if he continues on this path, will be my new favourite Red. And Takeru is a hard man to beat. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the villains in this show. They take everything I liked about them in Megaforce and just make them ten times more awesome. Did you know Buredoran derives from the Japanese pronunciation of Blade Runner? When a villain is named after your favourite movie, you know you have found a soul mate. Right it's almost 2am, so bed for me, but I'm four episodes down, thirteen episodes left to go. And four episodes in, I'm extremely positive! It's got strong characters, great action and cool mecha, I just hope the storytelling improves over the next thirteen episodes and even if not, if it continues like this I'll be hungry to see Goseiger through to the end. |

Goseiger Epic 14:
This episode was good. I liked seeing Hyde and Moune together as they work off each well and was a nice way to get the moral of the episode across. Now I believe that I am nearing the end of the "War Star Arc" and I must say I have enjoyed the series up until this point. The cast is likable and unlike some other sentai shows (looking at you Kyoryuger) every member serves their role and no one is forgotten. Plus the villains thus far have been interesting, Buredoran especially (Sentai I think I now understand what you saw in Fury now) and although they're doing the "Take over the world because evil" thing the War Star definitely seem threatening enough to come of as something for the heroes to face... Can someone remind me why everyone hates this show again? |

Part 5.
Much like the other episodes, Goseiger is just sorta like if Megaforce had plot and characters, I didn't realise how much Megaforce had stuck to Goseiger, and how much it had watered it down, until now. I certainly think Warstar have much more menace than the Megaforce versions, which made this episode feel a lot more twisted, in the best kind of way. So does that mean all of Warstar's footsoldiers were people once? That is gonna make the rest of the show feel kinda fucked up... I do like little nods to character, like Agri waves that axe around like it weighs nothing, and obviously Hyde assumed as much. Then he picks it up and it's heavy as dicks, and Hyde realises Agri is more badass than he lets on. It's just a shame that I'm really starting to notice how the suit actors heights and builds are all wrong. Seaick Brothers for the win! This robo was even better than it was in Megaforce. I hope it gets used more than it did in the other show, I actually think it was only used once in Megaforce. Also man that chick Hyde saved was HOT. |

Agri and Hyde are easily two of the baddest ass Sentai characters in a while. And Moune and Alata is right there with them. And now you see the problem with Megaforce. I like Megaforce. But it watered down so much of the goodness in Goseiger because they had to fit a 50 episode run in 24. Plus pepper in Gokaiger footage. |
Quote:
But yeah, I'm loving the Goseiger's, the only one I don't really care for is Eri as there really is nothing to her yet, beside being sort of like Alata with a skirt on. Moune! *_* I didn't like Megaforce, watching the original makes me like it even less. |
Quote:
And now you understand my anger at Megaforce. And when you hit Gosei Knight? You'll understand why I wanted RoboKnight to die a horrible acid bath death. |
Quote:
But aw, Robo Knight was like the one good thing about Megaforce :lol |
With everyone watching Goseiger... I finally got to continue my rewatch, so far, I've been watching Ep. 13-16. Ahhhh, it's been so long... all those FEELS ;_; But there are some funny things to notice as well. For example in one episode (don't read if you haven't watched it to the end, cause this is kinda spoiler-ific) Buredoran appears with the Goseiger's detransformation soundeffect. Someone say again that him being in the finale feels forced....
I feel more and more like doing my Eri cosplay...But I guess that won't happen until 2005, especially the GoseiPink suit. I'm too busy with what I planned for this year.... :lol |

Moune, btw, her actress Mihiko Niwa has some amazing Gravure pics out there. .. I know because I have an ungodly amount of them on my pc right now. |

Whatched the first ten episodes of Dairanger and I´m really enjoying it.

The zords are like the only good thing about Dairanger (except that stupid palace combination crap), at least let them have that. Without the zords Dairanger is complete crap.

The White Ranger, despite being a central part of MMPR lore, was actually used for about five episodes in Dairanger. |

That's kinda neat actually. |

Aw great KRDL is moving servers so I have to rely on TVN torrents which no one seeds, might be a long while until I watch Epic Seven! In the meantime, part 6. The adverts! Thank you TVN, thank you. Really, of all the wounds Alata took, the nick to his arm is the one that leaves some permanent black scar thing? Also, I dunno whether that 'feel the wind' stuff, is awesome or daft. I mean I know we've seen both Agri and Hyde sense things through their elements, so were we just supposed to assume everyone can do it? If so, Alata coulda pulled this out sooner! I guess I wont complain about him being a badass though. I also love how they tell Alata not to overdo it, before immediately telling him to face Dereputa alone. Cheers for the mixed messages guys! How about I face the monster of the week alone and you four face the general? Doesn't that make more sense? Still, I love Alata's and Dereputa's rivalry. I mean the action was just as good in Megaforce, as they used the same footage, but Goseiger actually has plot, characters and context and it makes the fighting even better as you get to actually be invested in it. So much love for Dereputa as well, it's a shame he's going to be dead in what, like ten episodes? He's easily the coolest sentai villain since I first fell in love with Juuzo. Landick Brothers SUCKS. I do like how Goseiger uses more CGI in its mech battles to try and improve the mech battles, and to be fair they are really well done. But once you get a Pirate Robo with shark hands, you can't really beat that with a couple of new feet and some horns. Kinda weird as well that it has the same finisher as Fourze. |

Oh wow that torrent downloaded already, time for episode seven!
It's kinda depressing that Eri's only real defining moment was being a prize. And how does a guy with super strength get beaten in a sumo match against an old man and then struggle to garden? And where were all those fancy moves he uses in battle? I'm starting to think the axe isn't heavy at all, Hyde is just a pussy. It was also a weird decision to make the farmer a likeable, grieving old man only to turn around at the end and just make him out to be a bit sleazy, and for the episode to have none of the depth it appeared to once have. I love these kinds of convention breaker style stories, but it's breaking conventions I actually like and not for the better. So what are The Warstar exactly? Like I know they are insect aliens, but what is their goal, why are they here? Where did they come from? Why are they only shown as a single ship, yet Drake seems to have endless numbers of soldiers? How can Blade Runner and Dereputa be his generals, yet know nothing of Drake's forces? Either way, the Researcher made for a pretty good of the week villain, his plan was really fucked up but scarily intelligent for a big supervillain plot. He even had the brains to learn his enemy, and go into battle with tactics. Shame his victory had to be so short lived, as they only have twenty minutes to tell the story. Also, what the fuck is with the sizes in this show? When the monster first grows and fucks them up a bit, he's about the size of a house, but then when the robo comes in, both the robo and the monster are three times bigger than the multistory buildings around them, it's ridiculous. |
Epic 8.
What a stupid plot for an episode. I mean what about all those zips and clips? Although so much love for Alata and his shit drawing skills. Also Exotic Gosei Great is so lazy. At least we don't have to see it again. The episode only got good, when Buredoran got involved directly. I'm really struggling to decide who is more badass out of him and Dereputa. Weird they didn't use this footage for Megaforce, as Vrak was the main villain. Could have made the plot about Troy losing control of his powers, thanks to nerves, as he dreams of being caught in a giant war. Thankfully through his favourite hobby (other than working out), drawing, he finds inner peace and reclaims control of his powers. And gets some new zords out of it! (just a shame his drawings suck). |
Bureduran. Bureduran is always more badass :lol

Epic 9.
Wow an episode Megaforce actually did...better?! Not only was the Megaforce episode funnier, but it was actually the better story. I'm...blown away! Skick Gosei Great is awesome though, no matter what version of the story. |
Yea.. I was hoping you'd skip 09 :lol
|
Bioman has been sucking me in lately. I'm on episode 9. I know what happens in the next episode, but am interested in seeing how they did it.

Epic 10.
What a return to form! Although I wish this had slightly more context (I think Hyde's lack of a partner was only ever referenced once outside of this episode) but the episode handled what it had well. And it's cool to discover a whole aspect of Goseiger that never made it into Megaforce. On the other hand, I guess due to budget reasons, the actual flashbacks and stuff that showed what happened to Magis really sucked. It reminds me a lot of when Shinkenger did that flashback to the past Shinkengers and how they were defeated, and they were just really rubbish. I will say that I like MOTW (or should that be of several weeks given his actual importance to the story?) like the one this week. For all its silliness Goseiger has some pretty great villains, sure there are those who just sorta blow up a few buildings and then get killed but there are a lot of smart ones too, smart ones with plans, with plans that effect the entire planet and really do make Super Sentai feel like the superhero show it's supposed to feel like. Honestly with how much of Goseiger feels epic (is that a pun?) it's a shame that Goseiger didn't get a proper adaptation, I know that Gokaiger used the franchises history which is great for an anniversary but you could have easily marketed the Goseiger adaptation as the biggest Power Rangers season yet, and have not been lying, and BIG is what you want for an anniversary season. It also has lots of elements to it, which feel like throwbacks to other seasons. Just grr, Megaforce makes me so mad! Also heck yes for using the Seaick Robo again! |

20 Episodes into Dairanger and I still really like it. Kou is not that annoying as I anticipated and I kinda like his story and the whole "secret identity" thing.
|
I just started tring to watch all of bioman again. i have a huge soft spot for the show. it might be bause it was my gate way in sentai.
