Meh. Still not sold on the idea of Venom - as much as I like Venom - without Spider-Man. Even if it was some sort of Agent Venom that just happens to have Spider-Man-like powers without having come from him. They're just too linked.
But I'd probably see it anyway and casting Tom Hardy helps with that... |
After that Venom movie news I remembered something
Black Cat's gonna get her own movie too apparently. I'd probably watch that, Black Cat's always been fun. NOW THE ALLEGED SILVER SABLE MOVIE ON THE OTHER HAND... |
Venom is a worthless character and can not handle a solo title without Spider-Man in it. Every Venom comic has sucked on his own. The character only works as a villain to Peter.

Though Venom NEEDS Spidey for the sake of buildup |
Agent Venom is cool~

Unrelated note I am psyched for next week's X-Men Blue. And no that is not Earth-616 Hugh Jackman's hand. |

Venom to me is only a Spidey villain and he's not even a great one. I like him because he is meant to be the exact opposite of Peter in looks and personality. When you take that away, or take Peter out of the equation, he becomes a gimmick. He's almost as overhyped as Deadpool. Now Carnage I like because hot damn having a serial killer with the powers of Gak is awesome. EDIT: So I finished the Roger Stern Omnibus and my god I grew up in the wrong era of Spider-Man comics. Those issues were truly amazing. I loved the Hobgoblin arc and it is a shame none of the other stories (such as the ones with Flash and Ned being framed) are available to read in a trade or something. As such, I moved on to Hobgoblin Lives and have read the first two chapters so far. This was definitely past the part where I stopped reading the comics back in the 90s because I did not know MJ had a miscarriage (nor that she was ever pregnant), Norman returned from the dead (at that point), Harry died, and that Aunt May died. When I started back up with JMS' run, everyone was alive and the baby was never mentioned. Moving on, I really like how this story is progressing thus far and it is nice to have everything that is talked about so fresh in my mind. It is an interesting way to having Stern continue his story without retconning the decade's worth of stories. It also makes Hobgoblin feel even more badass than he was previously. Anyway, back to the other stories in the Stern Omnibus, I thought the one with Thunderball was probably the weakest in the entire book. The side story with the dying kid was really well done and it was interesting to see where the Animated episode got its source from. The black mail scene in the country club was badass and I'm surprised that scene has never been adapted in the movies or cartoons whether it were to feature Hobgoblin or not. In fact, this makes me upset even more than I already was with how underutilized Hobgoblin is when it comes to the other mediums. Even the 90s cartoon didn't make him this conniving. At least they gave us Mark Hamil, who is the voice I hear when I hear Hobby speak in the comics. Finally, the first issue with Symbiote suit could have been better. It just feels weird to have a new suit out of the blue (and the artwork wasn't as good). How did this work out when these comics first came out? Was Secret Wars happening before the end of 251 so that when 252 came out, everyone knew what occured? I've never read the original Secret Wars. In other Spider-Man news, Omnibus Volume 3 for Amazing shipped out. YAY!! Can't wait to go back to reading more of the Lee/Romita era. |

This one doesn't spoil the movie like the last trailer, got some good jokes though |
I'm good. I've seen enough. I was already sold on the movie the moment they showed the web wings. I didn't need to see anything else.

marauders?! marauders?! *slaps self* Freakin' marauders consisting of his old buddies from Earth-1610?! |
Venom #150 was a big throwback to 90s Marvel. Complete with terrible writing and awful artwork.

Artwork looks fine to me. It looks like Venom.
As for the writing, Venom has never had great writing. It's Venom, he can't be done on his own. That's like trying to give C3PO his own movie. |
Its pretty shitty man. The proportions are completely out of whack. The thighs are gigantic and the feet would never be able to hold up that body.
Except for the part where Venom had a great series going on for the last six years ever since Rick Remender took over that book. |

It looks like it came right out of the 90s cartoon.
so yes, it's terrible. |

I know OG Venom gets a lot love, but Flash Tomphson as Agent Venom was a great Venom and character all together for me, until the whole guardians and space knight thing got involved I dropped the ball then.
You can't go from this..... http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/...6433-Agent.jpg To whatever this is. https://news.marvel.com/wp-content/u...7879e228bf.jpg |

So for anyone reading any titles within ResurrXion, I'd like to hear your thoughts on it so far.
Person Opinion: I've never been an X-Men or Inhuman fan (especially the latter and Marvel's attempts to make it the next big thing) but I have been kept up-to-date with what's going on with both sides. So I thought I'd at least give X-Men a try with ResurrXion since my selection of Marvel titles is pretty much non-existent (98% of my weekly comics are DC). Here we go: X-Men: Blue: I have to say that this is the title I have enjoyed the most. I know a lot of people find the whole time-displaced X-Men drawn out (even me, a non X-Men fan finds that drawn out much) but I do find them likeable (mainly due to my limited X-Men experience) and I do like the art style with the covers and issues. I do like the story and it seems to be building up to a conclusion to the time-displaced X-Men (but knowing Marvel, they'll find a way to keep them around). I'm hoping it gets more interesting and entertaining. Will continue to read it. X-Men: Gold: Unlike 'Blue', I found that this title is boring. I know a lot of people were 'excited' for Kitty Pryde to return from her tenure in the GotG and to have some 'classic' X-Men together (apart from Old Man Logan), but her and the other characters in 'Gold' dont really interest me and are just kind of 'there' if you understand what I mean. I kinda like the art style but that seems to be the only good quality about it. Given how bland and short the first 'story' was (3 issues I believe), I will most likely drop this title and save myself some money. Jean Grey: This title has been good/okay so far. I do like stories that involve 'time' and trying to defy fate, and given how important the Phoenix Force is/was to Jean Grey, it was interesting to see how young Jean Grey deals with this inevitable fate (if Marvel ever decides to send the time-displaced X-Men back) and if I remember, they did make this a thing for the GotG and X-Men crossover a few years back. So far, this title is a maybe and I'll wait to see how the first 'story arc' ends to see if I drop or continue. Generation X:This title has been alright but bordering on meh. There wasn't anything really interesting or out there for me to be invested with it but given it's only had 1 issue out so far (2nd one will come out this week I think) I'll wait to see if it may improve my opinion. Will wait to read the second one to see if my opinion is the same or not. So that's my opinion on the select ResurrXion titles I've decided to read. I'll also be adding Cable once that comes out this week and maybe Iceman if I make up my mind. |

Looked up the plot for the new Venom series. It reads like the plot is basically Eddie being yandere for the symbiote which is ironic

Is that a fish Venom-fied Gwenpool? I I need a drink. Sounds cool but it's comics, a medium I can't easily access, plus there's my inherent issue with comics, you have to wait a few months to know if it's any good or not |
