Doodling today, and I remembered this plan I had a while back to draw OOO combos using Starter Pokemon, their evolved forms and Legendary Pokemon/Pokemon trios. I gave up when I realised the abysmal amount of Combos I would have to draw.

Now that I have beaten my cancer, finished my internship and thus no longer a student.......... I don't know what to do.

I mean, my ambition is to be a part of film industry, but the real ambition is to leave my country to pursue a new life, ideally USA or London or Japan or even Australia. But it's going to be so hard.

When it comes to finding jobs, sadly the worst aspect of myself is that I don't have faith in myself, the worst is that even if I'm good at something, I'm not good enough or that someone else is better.

I upgraded from S10+ to S21 Ultra 5G, and got pissed that the newer phone does not have an SD card slot.

Now if only we could get figma of Betterman's' various forms. That'd be sweet.

I think I have a problem with mindless browsing. I dedicate a lot of time to doing nothing, but don't really have the energy to do much more then this.

So yeah this. My internship has ended today, as agreed on paper.

Despite frustrations from both sides due to the whole COVID situation (also because of a renewed lockdown that was announced yesterday) which derailed a conference we were going to hold tonight, I still enjoyed this. Apparently the reason they haven't called me much recently was because they've been really busy trying to sort things out. I'm a bit worried about their health to be honest but I'm sure they'll be fine.

The best part? They said that because I have their phone numbers, I can call them in the future if I need their help for something. So my goal of expanding my personal network for my own future benefit has succeeded.

And they said that if the conference ever gets back underway they'll invite me so I can meet the veterans there. I love hearing people's stories, and as a wannabe writer this is great for me. I'm really glad and blessed to have taken this internship.

And I'll never take small businesses for granted ever again, now that I've glimpsed the struggles behind the scenes.

Sigh... I'm starting to think that Victim mentality is endemic to our family or something.

I called out my mother for whispering softly to get my attention while on the other side of the room and she was quick to act like she was being treated as a maid and then went on an hour long rant.

I called out my younger brother for talking on the phone to his girlfriend loudly at 12 am to 3 am almost every day because we share a room and I have work the next day and he got mad and called ME out for snoring loudly at night.

I pressured my youngest brother to do his homework because they're starting to pile up and he acted like he was being bullied.

My dad does this sometimes too but I'm willing to give him a pass since he takes just as much bullshit as me from my mom and brothers.

Sounds rough. I don't really know how to help you here but I hope you're doing okay buddy.

This year has been a good year for me. I got a new dog, I was able to see my friends again, I found a religion that I feel connected with, and I was able to accept my inner sexuality. The future looks bright at the moment in my opinion.

So today I found a nice computer extension called Sugoi Manga OCR which allows me to translate raw manga scans for my own personal pleasure.

I also found something called Visual Novels OCR which is an extension which allows one to translate visual novels as they play.

So where am I going with this aside from a free unpaid promotion for this extension? Well, a few weeks ago I got a PC (my first PC BTW) which runs on Windows. Being used to Mac, I had to get used to a different OS in order to work the computer.

Because Sugoi Manga OCR only works on Windows, I had to install an extension onto an OS I knew very little how to operate. And after an hour of trying to open it turns out that I had to extract the .rar file instead of trying to open it directly.

TL;DR I installed an extension on my new PC today to allow me to translate manga, but ended up having a headache of a time because I am almost computer illiterate (even in Mac) and don't know jackfruit about how to use Windows.

And just in case you're curious, the reason I installed this is because there are plenty of fan manga (doujinshi, the SFW ones you gutter-heads) out there that's been untranslated and I really want to know what they say so yeah.

Windows are opening up, stuff is being deleted, total chaos. I might have to do a complete reset.

You might've installed something bad. Just in case, while you reset the system, check other devices that had a connection with it and change the passwords you used to login from the PC. And any website that uses the same one.

Losing data on a PC that young isn't a problem, but if you did have a virus and did use the internet on it your passwords might be out there now. Better safe than sorry in that case.

Nah it's definitely not virus. I've deleted the extension and reinstalled it and contacted the developer through Discord. They're guiding me through any problems I might have. The software's a beta release so it's not too surprising there's some wonky stuff in it.

A software being a beta release doesn't cause stuff like that to happen, though. I really recommend doing what Kiwami suggested. That's the biggest red flag I've ever heard of.

Okay so I contacted the developer. After having calmed down I realised it must have been me because I was pressing keys on my keyboard like mad and clicking on random buttons due to stress.

It turns out it was some faulty code on the developer's part. They sent me an edited file with the fixed code over Discord chat and now the extension works. Nothing was lost except for what I deleted in my stress-fueled frenzy of button mashing.

So yeah the extension now works and, I have to stress this, there were no viruses. Otheriwse it wouldn't have such positive reviews on YouTube. The translation's a bit wonky at times but still better than Google Translate.

EDIT: Realised the first image had my computer's username, which is my actual name, on it so I quickly scrubbed that out. Not too confident on letting my real name out there. I mean, I trust all of you guys but never hurts to be too safe online.

Wonhobby is happening, which means it's the usual mix of emotions over what's getting made and what seems to have gotten The Axe.

Argh spending too much, and of course stuff I've been looking for for monthd pops up now.

On a related note though, I notice my own spending has gotten wildly out of control despite me not actually feeling compelled by anything lately (not keeping up with any series, etc.), so I've challenged myself to go June and July without ordering or buying anything that isn't a current pending preorder.

That last part is mostly because I'm expecting a Choudan Kadou announcement at some point between now and the end of July and I'm committed to that line.

No huge surprises this time around for me, a colored version of the prototype I was happy to see and Lady Maria still has no pre-order date. Apparently it was supposed to be happening in June but is postponed.

I was in a similar situation this week: "Oh this figure is very nice, but 100 bucks? I don’t know if I should..."

To my defense, the figure wasn't even half of the bonus and the rest will be spend for actually useful stuff. I'm a good little adult, everyone who doesn’t know what I spend my money for agrees.

The more spending power I accumulate the better it feels to say "no" sometimes and don't buy anything. I still fail miserably at it most of the time, but the rare times it does happen are nice.

The only things really catching my eye were two figma, one of which- Lancer Artoria- we've known about for about and I was seriously hoping would be painted by now.

Was let down by the lack of any more Girls Frontline figma so much as getting a placard, but at this point I can't be surprised considering Arknights is doing to it what Azur Lane did to Kancolle.

Same for me really. I was happy when they announced a certain figma during their last event, and now I'm equally happy to see it painted, but that's about it.

Shaman King figma are neat though, but we knew about Yō already. So I guess Anna is a nice surprise?

I offer my condolences without knowing what this means, just guessing it plays out with you not seeing more of what you would like to see.

I just realized I'm right there with you actually. I only have unpaid pre-orders for June and July, then it’s nothing until October. And all the companies I care for are already up to October with their pre-orders so - nice.

Of course, this doesn't help when Web-Exclusives or other items that want to be paid in full pop up like crazy :lol

I just kind of feel myself slipping out of the hobby and stuff like this makes it easier to go that route. Honestly at this point figma's in-house Styles line is more interesting than most of the licenses they have, if only because the simplicity means there's less room for serious design flaws, and they can actually get them out in a timely manner.

It certainly satisfies a bit of long-buried nostalgia in me but eh... it doesn't feel particularly compelling to me. If Tiga weren't shaping up to be a disaster I'd absolutely love to work on putting together a Fox Box display.

Extremely long story short, newer, vastly more popular gacha games supplanting their predecessors, to whom they are extremely similar, in such a complete manner that one could question whether or not the originals existed to begin with.

The furthest thing out I have is Choudan Kadou Tenkuu no Touma, only SHFs I have on order are Naki and Orthos Vulcan, and Naki is half paid off. Problem is everything else I have on order is damned expensive. Hence part of the motivation to cut back for a few months...
