I honestly don't recall Blade having a 2 episode format.
At the very least, if it did, it wasn't blatantly so, having more overarcing stories. |
Some story arcs in Blade were definitely the two-parters, but those were pretty much just the ones that were meant to sell toys or the ones that were otherwise outlandish (like the weird motorcycle one or the taiyaki vs. takoyaki thing).
|
I know there were some two parters in Blade.
But I'm pretty sure every episode arc wasn't broken up into 2 parts like current series. |

Watched Kabuto episode 4, and I got teary eyed, I wanted to cry for Kagami, I felt so sad for him because of what happened to his brother. I love how Tendou acts and reacts to stuff he is so much fun and his sister is awesome too.
|
Watched Kiva episode 3 enjoyed that too, I love Otoya from the 1986 story he's so much fun and Nago was awesome. Love the Kiva suit that's just awesome and love Wataru too. As you can tell I have too much free time on my hands lol.

I watched another couple more episodes of Kuuga, and again, I'm feeling that all the stuff between the human characters is good, in theory, but is too long in practice. The character stuff feels stretched over the two episodes, when it would really fit fine in one episode, but I like that Godai's journey as Kuuga takes two episodes for him to learn his powers, and how to defeat each new Grongi.
Also over the weekend I watched another couple more episodes of Faiz, and I'm liking the characters more. I still don't like Mari much, she's kind of a jerk to Takumi, but she's improving. Takumi is definitely improving, and he finally even explained to Mari why he's very standoffish and it kind of endeared him to me for the first time. As for the Orphenocs, Yuka is a pretty tragic character, so far as they've shown us. I definitely sided with her when she murdered the entire basketball team. She and the other guy, who's name I don't remember and can't be bothered to look up at the moment, then finally meat some guy at Smart Brain, who explained to them that the Orphenocs are at war with the humans, explained that when they kill people, most will remain dead, but some few worthy ones will revive as Orphenocs. Thought that was pretty interesting. That made me think back an episode or two to when Mari and that other guy tried to wear the Faiz belt, and they couldn't, but an Orphenoc could, makes me wonder if only those with the potential to become Orphenocs are able to wear the belt. Anyway, then Faiz defeats the Orphenoc that was explaining stuff to our main Orphenoc characters, and he suddenly appears before then to die, which seemed to really affect them. I'm interested to see where they go from here, since they rejected his notion that it was their responsibility to fight and kill humans. |
I watched the Gon Arc of Kabuto. I'm happy the Gon Arc of Kabuto is now over.

He's a slippery cockroach. |
Recently I've been watching Den-O. First Kamen Rider series I've ever watched. Pretty fun so far. Momotaros is hilarious.

It gets light on the plot in the later 4th, but it's still pretty nice overall. |

Since I still don't feel like getting back into Kuuga and given the upcoming Figuart release, I downloaded some of Blade and will be giving that a shot soon.

Blade is a great show :D |
I want to see Gaoh, but I don't want to sit through all of Den-O. So when does he show up exactly?
I need a break from Kabuto. Not Kabuto, just from Drake. His suckiness depresses me. |

I don't even remember Gaoh appearing outside the movie. |
Gaoh was referenced in the series, if I recall, but he only ever appears in the movie.

Watched Episode 4 of Kiva. I absolutely love Kiva is a really awesome series, I just love the visual elements, the characters and the connected storyline and mystery. Now I'm just to Blade for a couple episodes.
|
Watched episode 1 of Blade last night while waiting for AmiAmi preorders. It was... interesting. I do want to watch more, especially given how it ended on a fight cliffhanger. But it did leave me rather confused about the whole Undead situation and who these Riders really are, how long they've been fighting, etc.
|
Yeah. Blade just begins. No introductions. No exposition. No overarcing back story.
It's awesome. |
And that is one of the things I like about Blade. It starts some time into the story and builds up the plot through flashbacks and it doesn't give you long drawn out exposition on what happened.
|
I always appreciate shows that do that. It's less linear without being convoluted. Like Batman. His cartoon started in the thick of things and his backstory was explained later to great effect.

After falling in love with Dragon Knight, it being one of my most favourite Toku series of all time, I've always wanted to find another Kamen Rider series I could get into in the same way. However since I know jack shit about KR lore or legacy, I never knew where to start.
I was told W was a good place to start but I gave it the first ten episodes and it really did nothing for me, so I thought, fuck it Wizard is the latest KR iteration I'll just jump in there. And I thought the opening episode was...okay. I'm a sucker for Urban Fantasy so I thought the concept was awesome and I thought the fight sequences were awesome as well, even if the CGI is still awful and it looked so very cluttered with him constantly changing rings and doing stuff with his Driver. On the other hand I'm not a big fan of Wizard's suit design and fucking Christ that belt is annoying as shit. |
Sounds like you might like Kiva, honestly.
