Not at all. In fact, the burden of responsibility when it comes to being an ally... well, I don't envy you! It's so important for allies to champion LGBTQIA+ rights, to stand up and be counted when push comes to shove, that you are almost obliged to celebrate, Jello, attendance is mandatory!

I'm personally quite happy to sit Pride out, I'm not... a huge fan of parties, and for me, the season amounts to little more than taking time to listen again to Plague Mass by Diamanda Galás, but I appreciate that for a lot of others, this is a really important platform for taking about the need for greater equality, greater diversity, and for being very visible when discussion those issues, so whatever you do, don't let anyone tell you that you are not an important part of making the world better for us all.

So go forth, have a drink for me, make out with your best friends or something and then feel embarrassed about it in the morning. :p

What a coincidence, I too have a birthday this month. However, I was unaware of Pride Month and what it entails, as I don't follow politics or modern trends, unless it bleeds into my life and fuels my depression, hence why I don't. (I too am straight, though I'll probably live my life as a bachelor. I'll probably still celebrate, because that's what I've done all my life)

Now I don't mean to offend anyone, but I think people should never be judged for having different tastes or styles, as I have only ever seen people as people. Race, gender, nationality, doesn't matter, you're all humans who live on the same planet as me and everybody else, and I don't think equality and diversity are the same thing (I lean towards the former). Again, I don't listen to all that's going on in social media (Don't have nor want to be on Twitter or Facebook) so there's a lot that I don't look into, but let me just say, you are all unique in your own way, and don't let anyone tell you you have to be like them, or anything about your heritage or background doesn't matter, we're all in this together.

Didn't mean to go on that tangent, but I felt like I had to say something, so people don't think I don't care about others. But hopefully everyone's having a good day.

Yep, tried with and without a VPN. Not a huge deal for me, but it certainly is interesting. I assumed it was just an error that would blow over, but I've now seen reports of this from other Verizon users as well. Could just be the website, still. Might start using Tor if the issue bothers me enough.

I dealt with some bad gatekeeping after coming out. You will have people say that if you like one gender over the other, you are not a real bisexual or pansexual. Heteromantic people are still a part of the LGBTQ community too. I find all genders attractive, but I would prefer to be with a woman when it comes to romance.

Yeah I know, still kinda bogs it down. It's part of why I gave up on most social medias, they can be very unforgiving with this kinda stuff.

All this talk about Pride Month and folks feeling unwelcome at the celebrations... In Chicago, Pride Month is so constant and all-encompassing that I was not aware people could opt out or wonder if they'd be allowed to attend. Not being able to celebrate Pride, it's like asking if it's okay to exhale. The alternative sounds positively inhumane.

Long story short, if you're a person who wants to celebrate the exceptional diversity of human identity and sexuality, you absolutely should go and celebrate Pride Month. No one's going to be carding you for your backstory. Just go, be supportive, and have fun. It's Pride Month, y'all, not Shame Month.

Ha ha, no, sorry, didn't mean to be confusing! I was just trying to say that Pride is so widespread and inclusive here that it was eye-opening to read from people who were curious if they'd be welcomed. Just some flowery language. Pride's fun, everyone who wants to support others and be supported should go.

I had to check on American Made, and I assume so. Firstly, having Miguel Gallardo go from being Diego Luna (who does bear a resemblance to the real Gallardo) to being played by... someone who looks nothing like either of them was a bit of a shock, though there are a number of shared personalities played by very different actors, some of which bear stronger resemblance to the actual people than others, broadly speaking. More to the point is that El Chapo covers most of the B- and C-plots of N:M S2 from a very different perspective with a very different order of events, though it's also much clearer about the timeline of everything.
