Epic 27.
Great, another comic relief monster and a goofy ass plot. What happened to this episodes that involved the whole planet being in danger? They were so fun. At least the episode focused on Agri, who could really use more focus. He's a likeable guy, and cool as hell when he transforms, but has been pretty much overshadowed by the two other guys in the group and often feels awkwardly tacked on. Plus it actually had good action this time, it was so epic when Kingugon got involved. It really reminded me of the good old Warstar days. It's just a shame his suit grants him such limited movement. |
Brave 29, just awesome fun and great story progression
|
Epic 28. Last episode before bed. Please don't suck.
Watching this episode made me realise how much of a wasted opportunity the professor was. With Datas just being in his observatory, and the 'by chance' aspect of the Goseiger's turning up their and finding it, rather than Gosei Knight it would have been awesome if the Professor turned out to be a Gosei Angel and one of the most powerful ones and it turns out Buredoran was the one who killed his wife. In a sort of twist akin to that if Isshin's in Bleach with Grandfisher. It was a good episode either way. |
Gokaiger 9-12
Nine was pretty interesting with them getting the Gaoranger powers. Another case of Doc and Ahim finding the past ranger who holds the key to unlocking new powers ad just like last time, it's a red ranger with a jungle cat mecha. Luka even points this out! But it's not a problem, I kinda like how this played out. Got to see GaoRed too! He seemed pretty cool. What is his origin in comparison/contrast to Cole's since I heard Gaoranger and Wild Force were fairly similar? Episode 10 was pretty much just a filler. No real character development or powers, just...cards. Not a fan of this one really. Episode 11-12 were more like it though! Joe backstory ad how he got recruited to join the Gokaigers. Plus! some character development for Barizorg, who I feel at first glance wouldn't be a character I'd think would receive any. His history with Joe was pretty awesome though. Warz Gill is one of those 'my father never even hit me!" type villains, eh? Also interesting to note that Zangyack royalty apparently bleed Tide bleach. I wonder what his dad thinks of him, seeing as the top general he sent called him pathetic. Also, that general was pretty good challenge for the group so far. I was definitely caught by surprise when Marvelous took the hit for Joe like that. Fight scenes in these two eps were great too. Had some of my favorite instances of Gokai Change. The unmorphed fight between Joe and ShinkedRed was pretty great too. I would ask a question about ShikenRed since I seem to with every sentai character I come across, but I wonder if there's really any point in this case. She was a pretty cool cameo nevertheless though. |
Episode 10 of Jetman.
I...I...I can't :lolol |
So my brother and I are watching MagiRanger, it has been really good! There is a feel of Kyoryuger that almost every episode matters and the team (and actors) jell together nicely.
|
I gotta be up early, but I thought I'd wind down with a little Goseiger before bed.
So, Epic 29. Just so I don't get my soul crushed, spoil it for me, does this episode go anywhere? The idea of the Tower of Heaven raining down Gosei Angels just sounds so friggin' awesome! It is always nice to have the generals fight directly, but I really don't like Buredoran's Yuuma form. Those flimsy claws are almost as naff as Wolverine's claws in Origins. Plus it all lead to a Giant battle, I'd rather it ended with Kingugon throwing Buredoran into the Super Finisher, that was badass. The rest of the action was just epic though, I love how they gave an excuse for the Goseiger's to fight without those crappy super forms, and I love how it just went all out with all three Generals fighting at once. And my God so many epic twists and turns! I guess the Yuuma beasts are pretty badass after all. |
Epic 30. AKA The Zero episode of Kamen Rider Wizard.
Great an Eri focused episode... At least they finally found a context for Eri's personality, screwing the world to make cake was dumb, but here Eri works very well and for the first time in the entire show, I admired her. Although her acting is noticeably bad when she has to carry a scene with only a bunch of extras and some dry ice. She's so cute though, it's a shame about those giant ears. It was also a great episode for Gosei Knight, the fact he questioned himself and battled with morals and ethics shows how much he's grown as a character. Back when he was introduced, he wouldn't have thought twice about killing people to protect the planet. It's just a shame most of this character arc has played off screen. God that Dream Yuuma had the most annoying voice I've ever heard, it didn't even sound like he was speaking Japanese. I much preferred the voice they gave him in Megaforce. That said, I much prefer suits like his that give him the maximum frame of movement. Like Kingugon is meant to be this super strong dude, but his suit means he can't even lift up his arms. DO YOU EVEN LIFT BRO. |
Epic 31.
When Dereputa went down, you felt it. He destroyed the Tower of Heaven - something the Angels are still recovering from this late in the series. He is the first thing you see. He is badass. They spent time on his and Alata's rivalry and they even gave him a surprise return when they (the showrunners) realised Drake was never really important. He was a great villain. But here we are, same show, new big bads and the show just doesn't seem to have any of that prior magic. The Yuuma Beasts have never really achieved anything, they've not really got any goals and they haven't really got much personality. They are just sort of there. And as the Angels slammed them with artificial greenscreened special attacks that leave you feeling utterly detached from everything as none of the attacks play out in real time and also utterly underwhelmed whenever you're reminded they're fighting in a car park, you just kinda realise how artificial this all is. At least Makuin's departing speech was pretty cool, if not totally generic. |
Rewatching Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (It's been 18 years since I watched the whole thing from start to finish.) and Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.
|
Epic 32.
The Yuuma arc may have largely sucked, but this was an epic highnote for their existance. It was epic, high stakes and utterly badass, what a great final episode of 2013. The trip into Yuuma Hall was like being in a 60s B-Movie in the best possible way, although you have to ask why their powers still work in that pocket dimension, since its been proven you can block their powers, so why wouldn't Makuin? Gosei Ultimate is like the coolest thing...ever. It combines the Tower of Heaven, Master Headder and all the Gosei power in the world to turn into a giant spaceship that can turn into a giant robot. All of my yes! |
Been watching Battle Fever for a while. Up to ep 19. Its a pretty ok show. The actions are good the characters are likable and I really like the mecha fights, its so cheesy and awesome at the same time.
The good thing I think Toei did with BFJ was cast a good set of cast members. That was my problem watching JAKQ. It was Goranger with uninteresting cast. Not even Big One was good. The only one I kinda liked there was Clover King since he was a Zombie-Cyborg-Playboy-Manchild with a serious case of ghost phobia who just happens to be a superhero. Another thing about BFJ I liked was that they didn't make Diane wear those ridiculously short shorts. I mean in JAKQ, a part of Queens butt cheeks were showing due to the shortness of those hot pants. Though I really didn't mind Momo Ranger wearing those since she looked good in them. He he. |
Super Hero Taisen Z or GoBuster Yellow and Friends. The entire movie was about GoBuster Yellow and her little golden Birdie Ball, to the point where I'm not accepting the arguement anymore about how there needs to be more GoBuster in GoBuster v Kyoryuger. You had your GoBuster team movie, and here it was.
That aside :lol There wasn't enough Kyoryuger. Needed so much more Kyoryuger. And more of the duel between Haruto and Daigo before Gai decided to butt-in. And more Gavan. It had alot of Gavan, but not much of that shiney beauty suit. That was what this movie was for me. Good but I wanted more. The absolute best part was Kyoryuzin merging with WizarDragon and having the Spirits of every T-Rex Mech of the past appear for that sweet Final Kick thing. That.. that was just everything I ever wanted. |
Epic 33.
Yay new villains, good riddance to the Yuuma! Not sure how I feel about these whole robotic Alantians who are futuristic but also from the past business but we'll see. It was a strong character episode. I loved the way the episode used each characters reactions to the events of last episode to convey their personalities to the audience. Moune and Agri especially really have grown a lot over the course of the series, even if Agri rarely gets any character focus specifically on him. Alata continues to be my favourite character, and favourite Red. I'm not sure about Hyde's obsession with smiles but I did like that they brought Magis up, too often sentai will use those kind of episodes but never reference them again despite them being a crucial part of someone's character. About the only one I can't comment on is Eri, as she sucks. |
I just starting watching Carranger, and I have to say so much makes sense now. I'm on episode 14 seen Singleman and the Bowzock are different from the pirates from turbo. I can see why Saban had such a hard time adapting this for Turbo.

Epic 34.
Matoroids? Sounds awfully like the Metaroids knocked off the name. Either way, considering they found an excuse to basically use the same villain for two episodes, I can't really hate them. The fighting has just been epic since the Aquaman robots arrived, seeing them all scramble out of suit refusing to give up, AWESOME! I love Alata so much. Although props to Metal Alice and her boob rockets, and iPad sword. This...twist (is that what you call it?) with Robogog would be more impressive if it felt...thought out. Obviously the whole show must be penned in order for it to be filmed (or at least large chunks as they can do reshoots I suppose) so as much as we joke about shows pulling stuff from their asses, that can't actually happen, right? So if they knew that Robogog was going to appear, couldn't they have hinted at him earlier in the show? Had the Goseiger's mention an ancient but advanced civilization consumed by the sea? Or something? Because suddenly turning around and going 'grr, we've been watching all along!' sounds like Aizen levels of asspull. Even the Yuuma's entrance into the show was better handled than this. Neither deep, nor particularly well handled, I still appreciate Gosei Knight's character arc a lot. Which really just proves how much of a wasted opportunity he was. Didn't he already declare to fight with the Goseiger's like twenty episodes ago? I'm sorry you got so shafted, my glorious Headder. |
Epic 35.
So they introduced the epic Mach, the action exploded into high speed awesomeness and then...really, they're doing a teamwork episode...AGAIN?! And after everything?! Fuuuuuuuuck. I can't count the amount of times you've stated the strengths of both the members of this team, and their power as a unit and how their differences make them stronger as a whole. I've always kinda appreciated that Alata is Red but the actual team hierarchy is never specifically stated, it makes the team stand out. But oh well, fuck that, time for the show to come to EXACTLY the same point as it has done in all these episodes while also making all the heroes look unnecessarily stupid. Luckily then, the action was incredible. The special effects were stunning, the choreography was mind blowing and it was just so incredibly stylised, this is what made me fall in love with this show in the first place and so many of the battles with the Yuuma were so dull until the end, so I'm glad to see the show back on form - at least where action is concerned. I also have two points about 'secret' identities. Firstly, their jackets give them away, but secondly it shows they use cards to both make themselves invisible and they can wipe peoples memories, so I don't see why it's a big deal? |

Found a thing on YouTube to watch Go-Busters so I guess Ill try to finish it :lol
Watched 10 and 11, good episodes. Cool characterization for Red and then Gorisaki |
Dairanger 40-43
I still can't really warm up with it. The story was pretty boring so far (expect for KibaRanger's arc and the Shishiranger/Kujaku-thing) and even though the current episodes have some interesting plot, it just feels somewhat chaotic to have three major storylines run together. I still couldn't warm up to the cast either. Goseiger 41-43 Still love the show, even now. 41 is one of my fav eps and the build-up for the final arc is just amazing. Kyoryuger may be awesome, but it seems Goseiger will still remain my number one Sentai ^^ |
Go-Busters 12
Good episode, focused on Yoko and I can see how some like her. |
Finished Dairanger. I wonder why everyone says it is a great show, because it's pretty average to me, I even prefer Gaoranger, which was slightly cliché and boring as well.
I couldn't really warm up with the characters throughout the show and the story felt rather chaotic. The finale was also... weird and the last fight was kinda boring. It's okay, but faaar from being a good show. |
Shinkenger 01
Okay. How in the name of Hell did someone take this and make it into Samurai?! Shinkenger so much better. Takuru can do things Jayden can't. Like act, and show emotions. Ryunosuke makes Kevin look like the emotionless robot he was. Though I understand why they changed Kabuki theater to Swimming. Mako better then Emma. That's what her name translates to. I love her pouty attitude, and I'm a sucker for a girl in a turtleneck sweater. I am. Taki isn't my favorite. But then I think punk characters are overdone in Sentai. And things in general. But still like him. I think though he's going to try and impress Mako. They seem alike in some ways. Kotoha. Is perfectionly-awesome a word? Is now. I absolutely love her, I love everything about her. Figures though they turned Douku's Sake into Medicine, that doesn't bother me. Kids show. What does bother me is Saban cutting off everything good about Shinkenger and turning into that. The characters are devoloped, the acting is great, the fights are somehow just better. And the voice acting! Tayu especially. Though changing her name from Tayu to Dayu is just inexcusably lazy. For an opening episode I think Shinkenger did everything right. Introduced the Sentai, the Villians, didn't over-confuse the plot. Proved Samurai truely is a horrible peice of garbage on the level of Operation Overdrive but without the redeeming Once a Ranger. I do love watching this team Henshin. Watching the StageHands rush our with the banners, them in their kimonos, and then BAM awesome happens! And.. Yea, I have a crush on Kotoha. Why is it always a Yellow Sentai/Ranger :lol |
Shinkenger rocks until the last twenties, early thirties, then it's boring as all shit until the climactic arc.

Oh, Sentai, the names x,D
It's Takeru, not Takuru xD And Chiaki, not Taki, lol As for Tayu or Dayu, I think Nihon changed it at some point and they called her Dayuu later. Wait, since when is Kotoha a "plucky tomboy"? Kotoha is nothing like Moune or Luka... |

Kotoha was one of my first sentai crushes. Something about ultra cute Japanese chicks just does it for me.
