I just watched Kamen Rider Blade Episode 3, man I love this series. I love so many of them it is just way too hard to just try and get through one at this moment. I love the 3 Riders right now in this series, well two I'm not quite sure what Hajime is at the current moment.

I watched the Den-O & Decade Movie: The Onigashima Warship last night.

Holy crap, I loved it. Rather like Climax Deka (I think) was a Kiva crossover only in that they let Wataru and Kiva cameo for like 5 minutes in the entire film, The Onigashima Warship had Natsumi and Tsukasa for about 5 minutes. The rest was all Den-O and New Den-O. Oh yeah, and DiEnd showed up long enough to give one line, Henshin, and then summon 3 Riders to fight agains the Taros Imagins and then vanish. Yuusuke wasn't even in it.

But fun story, it was great seeing all the Imagins again, seems like the last movie I saw only had Momotaros in it, and hey, that Yuu kid was kinda cool. I do not care for young Ryutaro, but Kotaro has grown on me, and I finally got to see New Den-O's Vega Form, yay!

I really find myself wanting to get the two New Den-O SHFs even more now, as Strike Form has grown on me quite a bit as well.

I will definitely be making my wife watch the Den-O world arc as well as this movie in the coming days. Speaking of her, we watched the premier of Magnet States, and that's a fun set of episodes. We learn a little more about Ryusei, and see that Kengo really does appreciate Gentaro as a friend. Plus Gamou is starting to breath down Libra's neck more, which I like that he's slowly feeling less confident in his position.

I threw on an old episode of Den-O to check something, but man, that show really improves acting-wise as it goes on. I thought I just got used to it, but the performances are near insufferable at times, especially Ryoutaro. And people say Yuuto was bad when he started.

So I checked out the first episode of Kiva and I loved it! Also that KRDL site is amazing, I think I might just directly download each of the episodes rather than waiting for slow ass torrents.

About the only thing I disliked about the episode was I found the two timelines kinda confusing to follow at first but I'm assuming that'll become clearer as a I go.

And why does KR rely so heavily on such god awful CGI?

If you wanna watch a KR series without bad CG, you might want to check out the dreams of children.

I legitimately can't recall a series that doesn't have sub-par CG. While Pre-2005 series have the excuse of their technology, everything else is just them not trying. While some series' CG does improve (Kiva and Double's CG undergo a definite improvement as the series moves on), but for the most part, if meh CG will make or break a show, you might as well not watch Kamen Rider :lol

I'd like to reference Linkara's take on poor CG. If the story is good, then we can let a few bad effects slide.

Bad CGI doesn't break it for me at least not as much as it does in Blockbuster films, I recognise that they have don't have heaps of cash to chuck at this.

But I do wish they'd use less of it.

I'd rather have meh CGI if it means we have awesome fights. I just figure they don't have enough budget for good CG because it all went to great martial arts.

Besides, every now and then it'll suprise you. I remember thinking the bird/bug/tank/spider thing from W/Decade looked a hell of a lot better than, say, the garbage T-rex from the first episode.

Also Den-O's henshin never looked all that bad to me. Sometimes the visors were pretty glaring but they did a good job of making it not look totally out of place, even if it wasn't "convincing." Though I agree they could use less. Especially when you have scenes like in the early Den-O and W eps where the enemies turn into giant monsters and they have REALLy weird CG fights. Glad that concept didn't stick around in either, especially W. (then again we had the odd time of Accel turning into Bike mode and focusing on every polygon before his little weird tank guy showed up, but what can you do?) Wizard, from what I can tell, also loves big CGI things onc ein a while.

I do remember that Den-O used a lot of bad CG fights to sell the new train car toys for the Den-Liner. That was pretty terrible (Especially when you realize they only had like, 3 giant monster models)

Outside of the T-Rex dopant (And the Quetzacoatl Dopant, like, 20 episodes later), I really don't recall any giant monster fights in Double.

This is part of the reason I couldn't get into W, they basically used CGI at every single moment they could and everything just looked like shit.

I know you should be able to appreciate the story blahblah but it's also a visual medium and when over half of your episode looks like it was rendered on a playstation I can't get invested in anything because I'm too distracted by how poorly put together it is.

Watched Episode 4 of Blade, and damn this show just keeps you entertained. Things picked up and I am really enjoying the characters.

Man, if you think it's good now, wait until the show kicks into high gear around episode fifteen.

Still watching Kiva, I dunno how I'm feeling about it.

Like this show is slooow, I have no idea what is going on yet and I'm four episodes in already.

Even that aside the pacing in episode is really off as well with the show just kinda bumbling from one fight scene to another. AND the fights have gotten pretty bland since so far Kiva just kinda punches them for a bit then does the Rider Kick. I'm enjoying the girls fights more because at least there is style and variation...I thought this was the Riders show?

Also, what do they make the monster suits out of in this show? It's clearly very different to what they make the monster suits out of in Sentai and it doesn't provide nearly as much movement, some of these monsters are laughably stiff and rigid plus the designs in this show are uuuuugly and not even in the deliberate sense.

I can only imagine, and cannot wait till then.

I watched Episode 4 of Kuuga. Kuuga has been a show I've been bored with because the last two episodes put me to sleep. The fourth one really picked up and I enjoyed it a lot. I like Godai a lot so I kept pushing through it and happy I did.

So I am concurrently watching 7 Kamen Rider series at the moment.

What? Ugly? You crazy. Kiva has the best monster designs, hands down. Well, after the Greeed.

The rigidness of the monsters is attributed to one of their themes, stained glass.
Design aesthetic is a subjective point.
And most Riders are one man armies. The most variation is when they perform a form change, and most form changes are used sparingly, outside of their super form.

Yeah, I kind like the stain glass monsters myself. :/

Anyway, found an Arabic(?) dub of Megamax. I've always wanted to see it since OOO and W are in it, but I didn't think it was that good? Granted, much like Let's Go I couldn't follow the dialogue, worse since I know some Japanese but NO Arabic. But really, W only shows up a bit which really stunk, but granted he kicks ass almost the entire time. OOO also kicks major ass, especially at the end when he's going through combos every second. But Fourze... this was my second exposure to Fourze, (I've only seen half the first episode) and he's really not flattered by this movie. Poor guy gets some silly fights, mostly with his dumb jetpack and giant rubber add-ons futzing his kung-fu, then gets some pretty lame looking form changes. And I was rather intrigued to see a girl (!) rider. When she pulled out the driver I was legitimately shocked... until she actually transformed and did that moronic pose. Protip: don't have your new and exciting rider standing like a doofus after transforming. Really kills the moment, especially with the cringe-worthy girly pose following. I think that the suit having boobs is enough of a tipoff that she's a girl, TBH. Also Super TaToBa was super lame. That's one gaudy design, but I knew it existed before seeing the movie. Still, that suit is stink city.

I wish I knew what was going on, though, since there was some cool stuff. I bet I would have liked it more, too.

I found a subbed version of Megamax on YT, but Kamen Rider movies don't tend to get taken down rather quickly. It's really rather annoying.

Sorry if this seems rude but can't you guys just torrent Megamax? I mean I torrent pretty much any subbed or raw toku or anime I want to watch. If I don't want to keep it after I just delete it. There's are english subs of Megamax at OT and TVN.

I did torrent Megamax (And all my Toku needs).
However, some people just don't want to have the files clogging up their computer, or some people just find it easier to stream, or whatever reason.

As I said I didn't want that to come off wrong. It just makes sense to me to go ahead and have the physical file.

In my opinion, the Tomica Hero series has the most consistently good CG in any episodic Tokusatsu.

But what do you mean by trust? The fansubs groups that we have these days are reputable. Very much so, they've been around for years. I don't think they'll slip a virus in or anything like that on us if that's what you're afraid of.

It's fine if you don't use torrents or don't want to I've just always wanted to know why some people don't.

I'd never expect them to do anything shady. But you never know if they've been comprimised in some way they don't realise.

Well, I don't use say, TV Nihon, because 1, I have no clue how to find and download shows and 2...

So Diend is just the most unlikable Kamen Rider from what I gather? Maybe he doesn't mean to be a jerk, he's just frustrated that his face looks like a radiator?
