As much as I love those two (Vinyl more so than Octavia) I'd like to try and focus on ponies that don't get much attention in the fandom. Vinyl and Octavia have enough fanfiction that does the two a lot better than I could and I don't feel like I have much to add to them.

I love Octavia, but the comics did reveal a side of her rarely explored by fanfiction and other such works :p

Yeah... Plus, I'm trying to keep this mostly in Ponyville. So having Octavia as a main character might prove... problematic.

Well for me, it's like, anything I can get from Walmart, I can easily get from Target or elsewhere. I'm not saying you're a bad person for shopping there, or anything. If that's the closest store to you, it's completely understandable.

So. Here's the basics of how I see the first chapter of Heart Song playing out. It would basically follow the events of the first episode of MLP only from Lyra's perspective with a few interactions between her and the mane six, mainly Twilight. I'd kind of like to go into the panic that Nightmare Moon caused with her eternal night as well as show Lyra and Sparkler meeting up with the Roseluck, Bon Bon and Cloudchaser.

Of course, I also understand, theres reasons I dont go to places. So we'll this here.

So I guess I should say I hate what the fandom has turned her into. And people who call her their favorite character and cite all of these fan works as reasoning.

She has no character. She doesn't even register in my mind when thinking of favorite ponies.
