The boob thing is constantly treated as massive tongue-in-cheek joke. It hasn't even COME UP writingwise in the New 52, so if anything it's been toned down. The character herself is an incredibly intelligent woman who's the head of her own company. So a considerably stronger written character than Catwoman has EVER been as far as I'm concerned. So yeah, she's not the "hormone driven slut-monkey" you're making every DC character out to be.

I know this isn't what you're discussing but I need to step in to this from another angle. I HATE this argument, I'm sorry but I do. Every male in the DC universe is gorgeous, he is ripped as fuck, parades around in a skin tight outfit, he is usually charismatic, heroic, moral paladin, has a fantastic job or career, his faults are usually he cares too much or wants to save everyone. It may not be as deliberately sexualised (but that is largely because comic writers still seem to be under the assumption that the majority of readers are males) but they are still fantasy figures, they are still exploited and made into an unrealistic perfection that no man can ever imitate. I don't understand why people complain so much about Power Girl's boob window, which was a joke WAY before New 52 when... all the men are just as bad and not played as a joke at all, because for some reason no one cares when it is done to men.

Hal Jordan annoyed me, not just because he was pointless, but as a HUGE GL fan I was disappointed that his story was so brief because it was so fascinating. What a cool concept, Hal Jordan, ace pilot - DOESN'T get the Ring but instead gets the alien spaceship instead. That could be a whole story in itself, here it was barely a blip.

Power Girl is geniunely fun and interesting character on her own, and she has also had some really good books and stories.

The boob thing is only a running gag, not her defining character trait.
