Maybe it's beacause I'm not familiar with his work, or maybe it's an air of doubt towards the way certain comedic characters have been treated in the past, I dunno, I can't seem to get excited.

Please let part of this be true. Andrew Garfield is an awful Spider-Man & I for one want the world to be rid of him.

Even though I like Garfield alot in the role this wouldnt be a bad idea. By the time Avengers 3 or heck even by the time Spider-Man 3.2 comes out he will be way to old to play the role. He was already oushing it but it still kinda sorta worked.

Was reminded by a podcast of the recent Wolverine stuff.

Has his death happened yet and if so, how did it go down?
