Shinkenger Act 4
The feels! Is what this episode should've been called. Shinkenger Act 04 "The Feels!". Or I'm just a sentimental Old Man. This episode was handled so much better than Samurai. But I understand why you can't have a kid leap off a roof on American television, cause dumbass American parenting. And Mako >_< *Just Hugs* This was a very good episode. Ryuunsuke and Mako, the tender moment beneath the blanket when he woke up (Behave people!), and them both confessing their dreams. Here's hoping the rest of Shinkenger is just this good to. |

One of the things I love about Kyoryuger is how it appropriates the best elements of past sentai series. It's like a sentai greatest hits. |
Gokaiger 13
Another filler. One muuuch more tolerable than the card game one too. Not much to say about it other than I was entertained. It does sort of show more of how Ahim can hold her own without the use of weapons, after being trained a bit by Gekired. Best part was how the other Gokaiger's bust in the warehouse to save Ahim, literally guns a'blazin' as they busted in and wildly shot in random directions as they called out Ahim's name. Space pirates are just weird. EDIT: Gokaiger 14 and 15 14 was...wow. What was that?! I really want to watch Carranger now if this insanity is any indication of what I can expect from it. I'm not even sure if this was real? There was a scene where two monster had a high school flashback complete with uniforms. How do...where do you go off from that. Also this is the best great Power ever. I'm not even sure what it is. Is it the pose? Bringing joy to safety-challenged children? Now 15....is where things get interesting. I've heard a lot about this Basco guy before and all of it sounded awesome. This episode didn't disappoint. What a smarmy ass villain, this guy is. It's pretty great. The monkey was weird, but at least it can fight? Kinda. And man the Gokaiger fight choreography is always fun to watch. But it was kinda painful seeing all those mindless sixth rangers just beat the shit out of 'em. So should I just go to the next ep...or should I watch 199 Heroes first? |
199 Heroes is placed between ep 16 and 17, but I watched it earlier myself, so it's up to you.
|
Yeah, 199 starts straight after Episode 16, because a plot point of the movie is the Gokaigers not knowing the sixth rangers because they've never used them yet (they got them Episode 16) and the movie ends with Gokai Silver watching them fly off (he introduces himself to them Episode 17).

Epic 36.
One of the biggest disappointments with Goseiger is how little the mythology is explored. What exactly is a Gosei Angel? Agri is described as having super strength, and is constantly training, yet he is so skinny he is basically lank and is able to be outrun by regular humans. He claims at one point that he doen't want to "cheat" by using Tensou Techniques, but surely his implied physiology means he's always cheating?? What exactly sets them apart? Is it because they can use the Tensouder? What is the Tensouder? Where does it come from? How does it work? Why cards? This is episode thirty six, these seem like basic questions that should have been answered in the first episode! Eh either way it was just a filler episode, and not a particularly good one. |
Samurai Sentai Shinkeger Act 05
Takeru doesn't need to do everything alone, even I can see the disc slots on the back of that bigass sword! I'd comment more but I couldn't see the whole episode. The Sub I watched broke midway through the Megazord battle -_- |
On ep 24 of Abaranger. My love for Abarepink grows more and more. That plan she hatched to cross-dress Abablue was hilarious.

Epic 37, great more filler... To be fair, it was a little less in your face than the last episode, I mean at least this episode had actual tension, and stakes and drama. Even if none of it was particularly good, although as ever the action was pretty great, even if the budget seems a lot tighter in these later episodes than it did in the earlier ones.
What does Desu Wa mean, and why did no one translate it? |

I was under the impression the term Desu Wa was a sort of "good thing happening slash victory" like saying Yippee or something.

Epic 38.
Finally an episode that isn't filler. Although it is never specifically stated, the connections between the Matorintis and the Nazis are kinda scary. As they go on terrorist rampages, as they believe humans are beneath them and well... http://i.imgur.com/4dW5AWy.jpg. Metal Alice is as terrifying as she is badass. Other aspects of the episode were a little undercooked, sadly. The idea of Gosei Knight reading children's books to learn more about humanity was great, but it was reduced to a five second scene exactly like what they did with the hugging scene. Seeing the Wonder Headers make a bridge was so cool. Wonder Gosei Great is so awesome. |

Anyway, Epic 39. Although it only cropped up right at the very end of the episode, the idea of Alata being flung backwards to a time before the show started was really cool. Can't wait to see where they take it next episode. That will also mean I'm on the final stretch, I can't believe it, I dunno what to watch next! Maybe I'll go back and finish Liveman. Also Buredoran's return was much more epic than Vrak's in Megaforce but I'm still not a big fan of the suit. Warstar form all the way. |
Epic 40.
Such a great episode! It's just a shame the trip to the past wasn't used better. I mean sure it was a lot of fun but it ultimately served little purpose, especially considering it was a two parter. Luckily in the present Robogog is an utter badarse. The Matorintis are close seconds to the Warstar now, with the Yuuma being the worst of the bunch. |
Gokaiger 16
Basco really doesn't fuck around. I was surprised when he walked up and kicked Joe as hard as he did. We finally get some more backstory on Marvelous ad the Red pirates too. I like his idea of a pirate doesn't give anything up to gain something, he just takes what he wants. The fight against all the sixth rangers was cool, as usual for this series. Gotta wonder how Basco found out about the ranger keys, but Marvelous never did. Ah well. But now he's got all the other powered Heroes' keys too?! Guess he figured the Gokaigers haven't had their ass kicked enough... 199 Heroes Yeah that opening fight with all the sentai was pretty awesome. Not much else to say about it really other than that. Looking forward to seeing the Super Megaforce version. And being the team just last year all of the Goseigers get to cameo. They're a weird bunch of angels buttery seem pretty cool. Are Luka and GoseiYellow really that alike, though? Interestign to see the two teams so at odds at first though. The Gokaiger's ARE pretty belligerent. Best part was the Megazord vs Megazord battle though. So the main villain is the main villain of the first sentai, revived? Cool idea. And he bring's back the Sentai Counterparts of Vrak, Venjix, and...The fish guy form Magiranger/Mystic Force? They can't use a villain from Shinkenger or Boukenger? At any rate, cool to see them. I liked how when they split up the group, they sent Goseiblue with Doc since Goseiblack's attitude seems more similar to Joe. We see a bit more of Marvelous' heroism when he protects that woman and her children. The battle at the end with all the megazords was pretty awesome. All in all, pretty fun movie. Probably more than I can comment on, but eh, it slipped my mind. Gokaiger 17 Aha, I really like Gokaisilver, and to be honest, I really wasn't sure I would at first. But yeah his attitude's pretty funny. I really like how he clashes with the rest of the team...except maybe Ahim. His whole dream version of the team had me rollin. How the hell DID he build his own morpher though?! I have a feeling that'll be just sorta glossed over though...Anyway, Gokaisilver's version of final wave looks pretty awesome. Can't wait until he gets into some antics with the Gokaigers over how they should act. so yeah I know how the Gokaigers are pretty much not that bad at all, but are they the most bad attituded team among the Sentai. I haven't see much Sentai, but form what I had, Gai's version isn't too off the mark it seems. |

Hakase usually teams up with Ahim, while Eri and Hyde have a tendency to fight together (though Eri's actually Alata's partner). Both Hakase and Hyde are the brains in their team, so that would be the most fitting. Well Marvelous can be a hero if he wants to, but I hate how he always plays cool and says he isn't. The true heroic red of the two is still Alata. And he's also more of a badass. Quote:

Epic 41.
I guess we aren't on the final stretch after all? What a dumb episode. |
Battle Fever J eps. 24-26.
Basically just the first 3 episodes of Maria as the new Miss A. And she gets a focus ep on her third episode something Diane never had, poor girl. And we're back to girls in short shorts. The Japanese must have really loved them during the 70's though I have to say that Maria's wasn't as short as Heart Queen's but just as tight. Not complaining though since Maria is quite pretty. I just thought that Maria was an odd choice of name for the character since I don't think its a common Japanese name. The only Japanese woman I know of named Maria is Maria Oza... ahem I meant I don't know any other Japanese woman named Maria. |

Anyway Epic 42. Although the show has never been better than that first arc with the Warstars, this episode still made me appreciate how good this show is as a whole. It has much more character focus than any other sentai I've watched, creating much more fleshed out and complex protagonists even if I don't think it's handled as well as Kamen Rider usually handles this stuff. And the action is easily some of the best I've ever seen from sentai so far. Sure the giant stuff is as poop as ever, but in terms of the Henshin Hero stuff, Goseiger is a hard act to beat even if the Super Upgrades leave a lot to be desired. |
Epic 43.
So I finally got what I wanted and it...kinda sucked. Don't get me wrong, this was all out epicness. Robogog is a great villain combining Hitler and killer robots, where the only thing sharper than his smarts is his sword arm but it's hard to appreciate a final battle when it takes place on a nondescript beach completely detached from the wider world bar a few shots of exploding cardboard buildings. Gosei Knight! :'( |

How about we all just leave any comparison to anything 'Nazi" related off the site, completely. Okay, Guys?
|
Even if they're trying to relate it in the show? I don't get why you guys are getting offended when its clearly the intention of the writers.

Locke, please stop the comparisons.

So you say Suzu and now I'm getting shut down for no reason.
