Why was the Sentai team that made up “Blitz” featured anyway? I read Saban had been wanting to use the core Dairanger team back in the original Saban era, so I get why they were featured.

Editing around Sentai teams is hard work, and the directorial team is sure that the fans will love these non-Power Ranger teams in a Power Rangers anniversary season!

Power Rangers is still a popular kids show.

But not like in the 90's.

That's because it came out at the right time. Even if Saban owned the series through the Disney Era, I doubt it's popularity would be any different. The only big difference I can think of is a different type of fuckery they would have to deal with like they did with Disney.

Pretty much this. Power Rangers came out during the early 90s and it was a kids show that people never really saw before. You had giant robots, people fighting monsters in rubber suits while having High School stuff in the mix of it. Power Rangers will never reach the same level of popularity that it once had. However, the show is still popular with kids. Saban in 2011 did help bring it back to the mainstream eye again. I remember during the Disney era, the show had bad time slots and little-to-no marketing.
