This week's Try went EXACTLY how I thought it went down. I've made my complaints about this show very clear by now so I'll just say I was underwhelmed.

I got panicky during the end credits because I realised that with only 4 teams left (Try Fighters, Build Busters, Gunpla Academy and Lucas Nemesis) that Try Fighters might not even end up fighting Build Busters in the tourney. Then the preview surprised me by having the next ep be the Academy vs Lucas.

Interesting twist, but now the show's either built up a rivalry thats not going to be settled in the tournament or introduced a strong character for no real reason.

Yet Lucas has been such a non character so far that I find it insanely hard to care about anything involving him. The original series was crafted so that Sei/Reiji fought EVERYONE that mattered in the show. Try on the other hand has now written itself into a corner in that regard.

Better than last week's episode that's for sure. We finally get a shining finger reference our of build burning. Next week looks interesting but also really predictable. The Gunpla academy is going to have a hard time up to the end of the episode and then in the episode after they rally and beat lucas. Insert moral here and we're done

So Sekai's new technique allows him to make his own Sentai team eh?

I don't think the Academy will win. I think Lucas will. If he doesn't, THEN it makes no sense whatsoever and then I'll admit he was poorly written.

So theory: Build Burning has an Arista Gem built into it. The abdomen had that circle that shined the most.

That could be cool. Though that would beg the question of where it came from. Unless Sei managed to recover a fragment 7 years ago.

I guess. But even if you take Build Burning vs Transient into account that still leaves Yuuma's grudge against Saga unresolved and Shia/Portent having never fought the Try Fighters.

This is all theoretically staying within the confines of the tournament, but with only five episodes left the show is running out of time to move outside of that. Especially since it's stretched a fair few fights into two episodes so far.

Lucas will most certainly lose. I have no doubt that the academy will advance to the finals or the foreshadowing of their rivalry with Try Fighters, and by association Yuuma's entire character history, would be pointless. Lucas will be the reality check the Academy needs but he will lose.

Or Lucas will win and the final episode will feature an unofficial match between the Academy and Team Try Fighters harkening back to the last episode of the original series.

Yeah, honestly the writers wrote themselves into a wall.
On the positive side, Sekai's finisher was just.....

I'll give BFT one thing, it certaintly looks beautiful

Well, it's not surprising that happened. Not only does he get ANOTHER OP attack, Fumina and Yuuki don't try to fight Junya, nooooo... they just "keep him from runing away". This isn't the story of Team Try Fighters, it's the story Sekai Kamiki and those two other people who are there sometimes. Such a shame, they could've done so much with the 3-man-team mechanic if they actually treated them as a team.

I still say Lucas will win after his teammates get defeated easily. This not only keeps him in the story but adds a sense of worry for Team Try Fighters. The people they saw as their biggest threats, all three of them, get beat by this one guy. And I do believe it'll come down to him vs all three of them because they haven't once introduced Lucas' teammates or said what their mecha are.

If Lucas loses, then there was absolutely no reason to introduce him in the first place. They've spent too much time building him up as this legitimate threat for him to just lose.

There is too much evidence pointing to Lucas winning by himself and facing Sekai in the finals then there is of the Academy making it through. Just think of it this way. Ever since he said he was Sekai's rival, how many times have they run into Wilfred and the rest?

If Lucas does lose, then consider me shocked, but I think we'll see him win.

The manga does pronounce the skulls a bit more at times, but the way it's done here follows the lineart and MG design.

I don't think it's a difference more than it is a reason for them to release a HG Full Cloth (Which I'm totally ok with for obvious reasons). I'm ok with them leaving out the screw whips too because judging by the MG version, leaving them out is a good idea. Seems they also left out the knives, which is good too. The reason why both those decisions are good is because then they won't add the extra storage on the calves and back skirts for the whips and knife handles, making the build more solid.

I'm not only excited for that, but also that Denial Gundam....*wipes mouth*

Neither the X-1 nor Maoh had calf storage despite including the knives, they just were loose. But the whip ain't a huge deal.

This marks the first time in my life I've looked at an HG and thought "wow, that kinda looks like crap."

Oh I know. They could have easily released it in a regular line, but this gets the notice out there. I agree that the whip isn't that big of a deal either, but it might not also be included because maybe he just never uses it.

I have no idea, I'm just happy they're releasing an HG Full Cloth.

I'm not a fan of the Honoo's art, it looks like the crest has some weird fan going across it. I think it's just part of the wing, but it's really odd-looking.

I don't think they look terrible, they just don't look "Gundam". There are some suits I like from the series, and some I despise. I think the biggest problem is the story and how all-over-the-place it is
