It doesn't make sense, as Marvel said "Nobody wants diverse characters which is why our comics aren't doing well" and Iron Fist JUST got a second season announced despite Iron Fist having a Mighty Whitey origin and got flak for being racist (Danny lecturing someone who studied Asian martial arts how to run her life and Danny wearing shoes in a dojo in a scene for example) alongside Daredevil's handling of Nobu.

Some of those I agree on. However I don't think the 2000's Spider-Man movies are never good and I didn't like them back when they were brand new. Spider-Man 2 is not bad, but far from the best comic book movie ever in my opinion. I still would not call it a good movie in my opinion.

I found Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk not to be as good as they use to be on another viewing. I like them when they came out and I found them to hold up poorly. I consider them to be average at best (Same goes with X2).

Well that's expected. The MCU has improved so much since it started that it would be weird if you found IM1 and TIH to be still perfect movies.

The same goes for the Raimi Spider-Man movies. They're not as fantastic as nostalgia leads people to believe, but they are still competently made movies and if it weren't for them, Homecoming would not be where it was in quality.

Yep. I didn't understand what the fuss was about when the source material is a caucasian martial artist why bring it up unless the show was set to be a prequel of sorts. Now if this was Shang-Chi then it would be up for debate cause Shang-Chi IS an Asian martial artist.

My biggest issue with the Raimi movies was that they had really bad acting and dialogue. I feel like those movies try to be like the Silver Age Spider-Man comics and it didn't work out well.

How did Raimi went from Evil Dead to his Spider-Man movies is beyond me. While I think Homecoming is not a bad movie, but it did suffer from the typical superhero movie tropes that I'm getting sick of.

So why do you continue watching Super hero films?
Marvel isn't going to change their style up anytime soon since they make bank, I have no idea what DC is trying to do, but it ain't working, and Fox has only really struck oil with their rated R hero flicks.

So if we all know that they're going to stick to the typical tropes (Unless an obvious indicator tells us otherwise, like with Logan), why do you continue to watch the movies?

They don't need to change up their style though. They're super hero movies. As long as they make them entertaining, it doesn't matter if they follow a set formula. Their comics have done just fine. Hell, Toku has had the same style since its inception too.

I don't mind Marvel not changing up their thing, either. I'm having more fun at the movies than ever.
I'm just asking since his key criticism is that all the super hero movies are just the same thing over and over and they're not doing anything special or different.

That's why I feel like the MCU has gone stale for a while now because these movies have been almost the same thing over and over again. Even if they are entertaining, they can be still dull.

Toku superhero shows are not the best example neither since I stop watching the newer Rider and Sentai shows because I feel like that they would rehash the same tropes over again. I feel like they need add more risk for the characters and stories in these movies.

We know that they will be alive by the end of the day, but they need more drama. I get bored when watching these movies now because I feel like nothing bad is going to happen by the end of the movie.

Did you like Winter Soldier and Civil War? Both are those changed up the super hero formula and are two of Marvel's best.

I gotta say: this is definitely a lot better than the initial teaser that came out. 2017's Spiderman cartoon does seem to have potential.

Looking at all the previews it looks like this is taking some cues from the Raimi movies.

Kamala Khan, Fantastic Four and She-Hulk for sure. Not really up on Moon Knight personally, and while I'd like the X-Men I do worry it would run the risk of getting too bloated with them involved.

Basically I'd be down for any though!

I'd love for Marvel to finally be able to use the Fantastic Four, though other than that I'm not too sure. The X-men would be great, but yeah it could get pretty bloated unless they were careful. Still, I'd be down for it.
Other than them? Uh.... Agent Venom maybe? Though I'm not sure how well that would work with the MCU.

I don't think a reboot will work for the MCU though.

Plus comics are far less constrained then movies because they release on a monthly basis and even then a big reason people are turned off from comic books is having to follow several titles to get the whole story.

Marvel Studios are kidding themselves if they expect people to follow all the movies plus their tv shows to keep up with the MCU indefinitely.

Eventually if they aren't careful and add too much they'll hit a breaking point with their audience.

You don't need to watch the TV shows to understand the movies though and you don't need to watch the movies to understand the TV shows.

I feel like the MCU should take a rest after the 4th Avengers movies. These movies have been on going for 9 years and we have made so many movies at a point that people will lose track on them. People would have to watch Movie A to watch Movie B to watch Movie C. It would be like reading the comics, but in movie form.

I've always found the "You need to watch/read X too" to be a really weird argument. Because you don't, it takes all of twenty seconds to google up a summary of the thing you didn't watch and bam you're caught up.

I really wouldn't like to see the MCU take a break. It's never been too overwhelming to keep up with the films, and only the Avengers films and Civil War needed the viewer to watch other films to properly follow them. The rest can basically just be enjoyed with little outside knowledge.

According to rumors atleast Infinity War is basically going to reboot/refresh the MCU with Black Panther and Captain Marvel headlining the next phase of films.

I'm just not sure the franchise can survive without RDJ. Kinda like POTC without Johnny Depp.

Like I've said before it'll be the test if the actors made the MCU or not.

I like Black Panther, with him being part of this "Second Generation" of marvel films then I'm all for Phase 3 and going forward.

Mostly a bias comment, but yea I love my Black Panther.

From what I've seen Black Panther's cool.

I just don't know if he'll be able to carry a movieverse but time will tell.

But also keep in mind these are just rumors so grain of salt and all that.
