I dunno why but I feel like I'm getting 'toku fatigue' or something recently. I might skip Revice next year, despite how cool I think the design is. I'll decide once Saber ends.
I'll still hang around this forum because I love y'all, but yeah I think I need a break from toku for a while. |
I took one of those. Hit me around Drive. Had no drive (Hah) to watch it or the currently airing Sentai after cramming in so much the years before.
My only real regret was that after having burnt myself out around Drive and not being interested in Ghost, I ended up not watching Ex-Aid until about 2 years after it's run. |
Burnout is a very real thing, I'm 20 episodes behind on Kiramager, only at episode 5 of Saber and I haven't started Zenkaiger. I also haven't been on here since fucking April
|
I've actually recently got out of burnout. Saber has been really holding my interest, and zenkaiger looks really interesting.
|
I'm up to date on Saber but I haven't really been paying attention to it. I've definitely fallen off from it, but the fights and suits are cool! I couldn't really tell you much about the story or characters themselves.
There's been a lot of good shows all around recently (Falcon Winter Soldier and Dynazenon come to mind) so it's easy to be overwhelmed. Take a break, and know that the shows will be here when you're ready. As much as I enjoy these forums too, I think a little break from them is also nice. There's a lot of spoilers and speculation and upcoming teases and spinoffs and hot new toys, sometimes its just nice to watch a show without any pretense at all. |

I haven't watch much Rider since Ghost. I try to get into Build in 2018 and the show didn't do much for me. Ghost broke me and I'm thinking about trying out Zero-One. I do miss when I was super into Kamen Rider from 2012-2014.
|
Yeah it's hitting me too, I mean when I think about Saber and Zenkaiger I always think how much I've been enjoying them and that I want to see what happens next, and when I can manage to push through the feelings of bleh and actually sit down to watch an episode I always enjoy it, but that moment of deciding to watch one is just... so hard for some reason.

Happy first day of summer to my fellow Northern Hemispherers, and first day of winter to my Southern Hemisphere friends! :)

It won't surprise me if 2B shows up in Fortnite at this rate. |
I mean given Yoko Taro's motto is "I'll do it if you give me money, I want money", I'm sure we'll end up seeing 2B and related NieR characters in a lot of things for years to come.

The new episode of Rick and Morty was fun. The show has 5 seasons and it’s still fresh in my opinion.

Yay.....the solstice. *says with no energy, knowing it's longest day of the year* :lolol

Started Ultraman Ginga this mornin'
Thinking about doing a thread where I talk about just, whatever Ultraman I'm working through, since they're shorter seasons compared to Rider or Sentai. |

I'm not a huge GI Joe fan, but this movie looks fun. Also, more Asian representation is nice. |
Maybe it depends on where you are, but I was always told Summer started on June 1st. Same for the other months.

*slowly freezes down here while everyone talks about summer*

So as soon as the weather turns "Goddamned hot", it is summer. Hence, for me, summer started in April. |

But... as I say that, I remind myself that strict adherence to The Old Ways is part of what's been dragging Joe down since the JvC days. I'm willing to see where this goes at least. |

I wish I could move further north. My blood's too thick for about 70% of the US. |
I got through last summer with no air conditioning. It's made me much more tolerable towards heat, it seems. After last summer, I actually feel somewhat chilly in 90 degrees Fahrenheit with a t-shirt on and long sweat pants. I'm really pleased with this, to be honest. I'd like to travel more eventually, and I know in other countries it can easily exceed 90 degrees on top of the humidity. Hopefully this will help me a bit.

Someone asked a while back to see some art of mine, but I never could figure out how to downsize images, so I guess here we go.
Was playing around earlier gathering different drawings of a character of mine over the years, and I guess it shows some of how I've gotten better (even if I'm still bad lol) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...84/unknown.png Please don't come out super huge. |

I love the progress you're showing! The newest one is a big improvement in line-weight, in proportions, and in shading. The body language is good, too, and it's something you've had a handle on from the start. My one suggestion would be to add a little more work to your faces. They're a little undefined, relative to the rest of the drawing. Some more time spent on that part could really elevate your work. Thanks so much for sharing! |

Also no problem. |

Looking at them all, I guess there isn't a huge amount of variance within the faces, so... definitely something I need to work on. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...59/unknown.png |
After seeing the news regarding the next Transformers movie (and the resulting back and forth between fans), I think it’s safe for me to say that I’m done with Transformers as a whole. Not going to explain why, just feel like it’s time for me to move on.

Have fun~

TL;DR Looks nice, keep at it. |

Never checked out anatomy books because... yeah idk, all that immense detail tends to scare me off. Not that I've thought about checking one out in a while, so maybe it'll be less intimidating now. Finally, thank you! 2020-2021 was the time when I started referencing other art, so that probably helped with improvement. |
Perhaps one of the methods I use for reference might help. Since we're all familiar with Tokusatsu, and being live-action is even better, looking at Sentai, Ultraman, anything that gives you a good look at the basic outline of a human body helps. I'm told drawing from real-life is the best way to draw, and as someone working to improve my own art, also upgrading from an old cartoony style, this is something that has helped me out.
