Pretty much. They're about the price of a SHF, but usually comes with more stuff and is moreso because they use just about the same plastic, too. POM, ABS, and what not. Tho, build quality won't be as smooth as Bandai plamo.

I saw someone making the Ryuki Figurise Standard being at the same size as the current Figuarts line.

Has anyone tried to make it a similar size to the figuarts line?

Yeah the abdomen is the only safe place you can really pull it off. I think it ends up looking pretty weird, especially right next to a SHF.
