Super Sentai Artisan line
 

I have been away from the forum for awhile. I have been busy with work. Sorry if this topic has already been covered. I missed it if it had.

Anyway right now it looks like the Artisan line only incudes diecast megazords and megazord parts. And rumor has it ShinkenOh might be the next figure in the line. If that is true then is could be BoJ's answer to BoA's Legacy line, but without the zordbuilder ports. Could this lead to a re-release of many if not all of previous mechas made specifically for collectors?

Yes I interchanged Super Sentai terms with Power Ranger terms. Go-Busters did it so I don't care.

I wonder if the Daizyuzin will be apart of the Artisan line? If they don't have the old 1992 mold then they can just release the Legacy Megazord in Japan and give it a brand new Zyuranger box for it.

It's not BOJ's answer to anything. Chogokins have been produced by Bandai for 50+ years. The Sentai Artisan line of Choogokin robos is a so far very small line which releases previous DX sentai roobos with additional die cast content. The ToQ Oh was the first release and for now we have a teaser that implies Shinken Oh is next. We'll see if the line goes further but I highly doubt they'd release tons of past robos. After all until the early 2000's most initial sentai mecha had some degree of Diecast content anyway. This line appears to focus on transforming those figures which do not contain diecast from standard releases into premium ones.

The term Megazord was was generally used in Go-Busters to refer to the enemy machines in that series. Megazord Delta, Sigma, etc. The Buster Machines and their combinations were mostly referred to by their proper names. Go-Buster Oh, Go-Buster Ace, Go-Buster King, etc. Though it was a blanket term used for the Vagras machines and all mecha in the series as well. The stipulation of how it differs from the US version is that the PR one states it as "Megazord" whereas in Go-Busters it was "MegaZord".

If that ever were to happen I'd strongly hope they'd release the real DX toy. I'm sorry but I'll take the real one any day over the Legacy.

Pretty sure the molds are lost that is the only reason the legacy megazord was the 2010 version

I doubt it. They might just make a new mold.

Chogokins are a separate line from artisan. Artisans are diecast metal and hand painted DX megazords. Chogokins are miniature diecast figurines. Super Sentai Artisan are unique to Super Sentai. Chogokins are any Japanese robots from any series. Chogokins are like 1/3 the size of the DX versions and usually cannot transform.

Again I don't care about the megazord thing, you are overthinking it!

I agree, zordbuilder system sucks.

Artisan seems to be aiming to add diecast to previous mechs since that's popular amongst japanese collectors. If we ignore the likelyhood of the old molds being scrapped long ago we probably still wouldn't get any molds past Abaranger since most mecha before already used diecast in some way or another.

Yes they are a separate lines. But they ALL bear the Chogokin name. It has to do with the metal content of the figures, not just the toy subline. Chogokin figures, Soul of Chogokins, Super Robot Chogokins, and the related figures & lines amount to more than just some 1/3 sized figures, whatever it is you mean by that. They all fall into that category because of their metal content. Sentai Artisan is just the latest representation of Chogokin release. It still features the tagline for it on the box just like SOC's, SRC's, and the like.

Your just making an assumption about what qualifies as a Chogokin. Classic Chogokins were quite small but that set of characters for Chogokin (超合金) have been in use on most Bandai Japan toys products which featured metal content for the last 50+ years. Sentai Artisan is just the latest use of the term. In fact nearly all main sentai robos released up til Gaoranger still featured that logo on their box because of their metal content.

I think you are misunderstanding the use of the term Chogokin. You probably are thinking of SRCs for the most part which are smaller, but you might be hyping the artisan line up a bit too much as well. If anything, SOCs are Bandai’s premier collectors line. Even Gaoking was released as a DX Chogokin, plus the current Macross Frontier Valkyries are all released under the DX Chogokin brand as well.

This is exactly the point I've been trying to get across as well.
