Figma (Non-Toku) Discussion
 

Since I am not about to be outdone by those other guys, here is a thread for figmas.

The only Figma I have is Torque/Zolda and I generally like it. I'd like to get more of the line but they're just not as accessible as & tend to be more expensive than Figuarts. I've got an anime convention in March so I'll probably get another while I'm there if I see one I like for a good price.

Yeah my figma collection started this past february with the figma of vocaloid luka, and its been all downhill since, cause you know, i am obsessed with luka :p

How do these compare to Revoltech?

Yeah, figma all the way when it comes to humanoid characters. I love Revoltech, but they just don't pull it off quite as well as figma.

I've only got the Evangelion ones, but I have Ika Musume preordered for March. I managed to get my girlfriend into figmas too so I enjoy messing around with hers too :D

From my experience, it seems that Figma and Revoltech both embrace the "universal joint system" concept, but with Figma there are no ratchets in the joint.

OK, they have my attention.

I only have Yui Hirasawa, but glorious Yui Hirasawa is. I've got my sights set on eventually grabbing some anime staples like Haruhi Suzumiya, but Ika Musume, Sun Red and the Nintendo characters coming out might keep that on hold.

I can tell you from the ones I own that their just as detailed and poseable as any Figuarts,

Nah, I've got the three Eva girls too. I love the line, but in the grand scale of collecting I decided this line was the one I could most do without. Having a girlfriend that avidly collects them helped that decision ;)

I'm getting Samus and Link though, no doubts about it.

Ordered figma Aigis and Metis from Person 3 FES off of Mandarake, can't wait for them to get here, they'll be my first figmas.

Also, couldn't this thread be in the Toys and Collectibles instead of General Discussion, since there are the Dragon Knight figmas, and that's a Tokusatsu technically?

It's an adaption of Ryuki...so why wouldn't it be?

I got figma aegis on the way from mandarake, and i am working out a deal to get my hands on the race queen miku figma that rare has heck. she's the main figma i have been after for a long time

the non anime girl figmas are really impressive considering they went from anime girls to bad ass robots/armour. Really looking forward to Tekkaman Blade.

Anyone here own the K-ON figmas? I seriously really want to get all of the members of HTT. :cool:

Normally, I don't have any interest in this type of figure, but I've been seeing reviews of them, and they look amazing.

I personally don't, but my girlfriend owns all 7 of them so I've played around with them a lot. All really good figures :D

Yeah? I can all of them for a reasonable price, so I might. Plus the accessories they all come with are awesome.

Looking good, although I'm holding out for the Accel World ones now I've seen the first few episodes of the show. They are looking really cool.

The Samus will be my first dive into figma, is there and QC or other "qurks" common to figmas I should know about?

How do these compare to both Revoltech and SH Figuarts? I figure they are like a rival to Revoltech. I ask for a SH Figuarts comparison because for Ryuki, there are both Figuarts and Figmas available.

Figmas are pretty good. They are really good at capturing the essence of character and have a good ammount of accessories.

Next member in the Nintendo lineup is PIT!

Aside from Pit, I see another Guts figure and the lead girl from Gunslinger Girls...the rest I don't know.

PS The final image is sure to cause many "WTF JAPAN?!" reactions.

Eh, I've seen worse. So uh... well Google "Takashi Murakami sculpture" if you want a real "WTF JAPAN?!" moment, I'd rather not describe them here. (And I'll note images of them were thrown at us randomly in the middle of class. It was pretty inappropriate of the teacher.)

And the Marvel Figmas... Look right below the poster. You can see an unpainted prototype of Iron Man and a painted Spider-Man... They're super deformed styles. And I'm pretty sure that's all the poster is referring to. I got reeeeally excited until I scrolled down and saw that. :(

No, those are Nendoroids which had already been announced. It's saying Figma on those posters. Nendoroid/=/Figma.

I know it says Figma. Not knowing what the heck Nendoroids are, though, you have to admit the juxtaposition is pretty confusing/misleading. ;)

Upon learning that, though, my excitement levels went just about sky high.
