Legend War Issues with Power Rangers
 

I assume all pre-Zyuranger (MMPR) teams from Japan will have a backstory or removed altogether. So now we focus on the MMPR forward and the issues that we will have with them.

Now some ideas on how to fix things.

Tommy.

We know there's a "White Stranger" and the "Tommy Clone" from "Return of the Green Ranger" storyarch. That in theory could easily take care of the MMPR side of things. That still leaves Zeo, Turbo, and DT. Those issues unfortunately are too tough to fix.

Adam.

Obviously Zack would be the MMPR Black, leaving Adam only to be Zeo Green or Turbo Green. My preference is to have him be Zeo Green.

Katherine.

Same with Zack but with Kimberly. Throw out Turbo, she's Zeo Pink.

Tonya.

Throw out Turbo, she's Zeo Yellow.

Rocky.

Zeo Blue, because Jason will always be MMPR Red.

Jason.

MMPR Red, as Zeo Gold could be done using Trey, the original holder of the power.

The "In Space" Rangers I feel should remain "In Space". That pretty much means Turbo, with the exception of Justin and the Blue Centurion, is just left out all together. I don't think a lot of people have realized that if you want Turbo, you either lose Zeo or In Space, and both those seasons are viewed as much better than Turbo ever was.

What do you think should happen?

I think you're overthinking this. They'll come back, if they come back, as what people best know them for.

Tommy - White Ranger
Adam - MMPR Black
Kat (Because no chance in Hell Kim comes back) - MMPR Pink

And so on.

If it is just suit actors then mmpr is the classic 5, tommy would be white. Zeo would only consist of rocky , Adam , tonya and kat. Turbo would be just Justin, phantom and blue certurion. And everything from in space forward is fine. Minus Dino thunder black. If toei and Saban are sticklers for accuracy on a reshot legend war. That's wishful thinking thou.

I'd hate it if she came back as MMPR Pink. Kat is much better than Kim, but her time as MMPR Pink really didn't feel right. The fact she was simply wearing someone else's clothes stuck out far worse than it did with Rocky, Adam or Aisha. I'd rather see her come back as Zeo I, not just because I love Zeo but because that was her role.

also if it just team then secound turbo ranger would have both power due to first turbo passed there turbo powers to the second turbo team so in thory tommys only 4 colours and part of 4 teams

As I've come to see from the ancient aliens guy its probably gonna be every ranger with no regard to the same charecter being multiple colors because logic be damned we will see mmpr white, DT black, and zeo red fight together because aliens.

But I really like kickbacks idea.

I've also considered some triforians taking over the zeo powers because Trey also happens to be zeo powered so its possible the zeo powers were theirs to begin with and is even supported by the fact that Trey left them the super zeo megazord.

I'd prefer the idea that the time force just traveled to different eras and the legend war is just time displaced teams. Allowing multiple Tommy's to be accounted for.

Didn't you hear? Sentai doesn't like Time Force as much as most everyone else.

While I didn't say it was THE best its miles above Goseiger and stands toe to toe with RPM.

I see a major problem with the Legend War. Aside from I don't want it right now, Gosei deserves a full season, and Saban screwed me once again. ... Ahem. It's, to put it simply, the actors.

Alot of them got old. And not in the dignafied japanese way. More in the "OMFG Have you seen Andros?!" way. And alot of them, for whatever reason, just won't come back. Power Rangers isn't seem as in the same light here as Sentai is in Japan. And that's a shame.
Who was the actress in Lost Galaxy that did that movie that's softcore porn without being softcore porn? I doubt she's coming back. Amy Jo Johnson pretty much distanced herself from anything MMPR since the Turbo movie. Jason David Frank'll come back again and again, and we love him for that.
But what about the rest of the original MMPR cast? Johnny Young Bosch'll come back. I believe he will, Ichigo wouldn't let me down. We tragically lost Trini's actress. And I don't think we need the bland blah of Aisha.

That's what I think is going to drag the Legend War down alot. It's limited by how many past actors they can get to return for what they need storywise. And that's going to be a serious uphill battle.

I think they can make that an advantage. Story wise years have passed since the rangers first appeared. They retire because they're old but what could make them come out of retirement ?

That's the problem. The characters might want back, but the actors playing them have all moved on.

Not necessarily. The Legend War was to show the teams once more, not the actors themselves. During the Legend War, I think only one character actually spoke a line (Akaranger).

That, and they don't need all the actors coming back anyway. Even so, there are ways around the issues. For Andros, make up and digital touch ups can do wonders for appearances, Maya doesn't need to come back anyway (Then again, getting Leo back would be a miracle...), and Amy Jo Johnson could change her mind...Maybe...

Leo is a lawyer now, and, kai has a steady spot on csi last I knew. But the rest? How many would like any sort of payday? Crap that takes the best of lost galaxy from us. Unless Magna defender Comes back...and only Magna...no Mike please

Yeah, there's no problem with actors for the Legend War. They didn't matter in it.

Now the fact that some Rangers were on multiple teams is a legitimate problem. I don't really know how that could be explained except for some wacky time travel.


Oh, and what's this about Andros' actor? I just did a Google search and couldn't find recent pictures of him.

Supposedly he's gotten fat but the pic I saw he looked like a regular middle aged guy rather than a beanpole

Look at the Time Force cast ... mainly the big three ... Jason Faunt looks his age (30s), Erin Cahill is still gorgeous but will never be able to pull off the "early 20's heart-throb" she did in Time Force, and the Quantum Ranger is balding (it's true! I saw it on a video from Power Morphicon).

The actors I'm pretty sure will never return...

Austin St. John - from all accounts, he'd do it for $$ and nothing more
David Yost - didn't end on a good note, with Saban in control again, they'd all have to bury the hatchet
Amy Jo Johnson - moved on and wants to forget it, even made fun of it at one point (I believe it was a MTV interview way back in the early 2000's).
Most of the Alien Rangers - Maybe the two that showed up to this year's Power Morphicon, but the rest...?
Christopher Kaymen Lee - he's an amateur film director, plus I think he gained a lot of weight, grew a beard, etc.
The guy that played Zhane - Justin Nimo? Who even knows where he is?
The guy that played Titanium Ranger, Ryan something - who knows where he is?
Leo, Maya, Kai, Mike from Lost Galaxy - again, all put in the past
The RPM cast - excluding Eka and Mike Ginn (Eka did the voiceover in Samurai under a stage name, I'll bet anyone $$ on this and Mike showed up to Power Morphicon) ... Mike said his fellow castmates are "reluctant" to come to Power Morphicon, like they don't want to be a part of it, probably from the fall out of Eddie and Judd Lynn

That's a lot of history that doesn't want to be included in the history. I wish they'd change their minds but eh what can you do?

That's a shame, By my reckoning RPM is one of the most popular modern rangers shows and the fans would love the actors at power morphicon
