Ultra-Act Thunder Gridman Armor Preview Gallery
3 Attachment(s)
Tamashii's main page has put up a brief preview gallery of recently-announced Ultra-Act figure "Thunder Gridman," recognizable to American audiences as "Samurai Synchro" form.
This photo gallery appears to confirm that Thunder will function as armor add-on parts for the recently released Gridman figure instead of as a stand-alone Ultra-Act. Stay tuned to this page for further details! |
Yes! Add-On! This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for!
|
So...do they do anything apart from attach to Gridman? Because that's a pretty expensive add-on kit, no matter how detailed it might be.
|
Oh hells yeah, I freaking love you Bandai!! There is nothing wrong here!
|
Man, I would have killed for this as a kid! It's a dream come true!

If so then this set is amazing, if not then I'm still scratching my head over the price. Don't let me down Bandai! |
They were individual vehicles that can also combine into their own robot!
Based on the translation though, doesn't look like it's going to transform into vehicle mode or robot mode, just an add on armor, I still want it though. Google Translated webpage |
Screw those then, get me the original toys that had play value running out the ears.
|
My brains just exploded. This is the best news Ive heard all day! Love that its a combining armor.

Translations of the page, and from some of the images shown like the magazine scan, indicate that Thunder Gridman comes with a dummy base body underneath the armor. You'll be able to display him on his own, but the body underneath isn't fully-painted, maybe not painted at all, and what articulation it has if any is unknown. You can see the dummy body by looking at the unpainted red knees in the Thunder Gridman magazine scan.
Basically, this is a lot like a separate, expensive version of the Souchaku Henshin Kuuga or Kabuto figures. |
Wow, this is pretty cool! And I'm already planning to get the standalone Gridman, so it'll be nice to have this guy! And it's nice to know if Baltan II is correct, then I'm glad that they're including a way to display the armor so that you can play with Gridman without it! : D
|
I wonder if we'll be able to make Zenon then? I had the toy when I was little, and I vaguely remember that they combined in a very similar manner
Course this means we'll need to buy ANOTHER Thunder Armor and another Gridman to have a full Gridman display…*Sigh* I hate Bandai marketing... |
