Samuraicast: Elie Dekel and Power Rangers Megaforce at MIPCOM

In theory this sounds promising. Here's hoping it shows in the finished product.

Does all the money mean we'll be getting a good plot to go with all the loud booms and pretty colors, or will it just be flash and noise?

I'm not so sure what Saban has planed, after Samurai turned out to be a train wreak, (to me, at least)

I'm kinda doubtful about how this will play out, but maybe it'll turn out great. Still, I'll save judgement until I see a episode, then I can add more thoughtout opinions about this series. Right now, it's too early for me to judge.

Hopefully they put some of that budget towards decent writers, but that's probably a long shot.

I read that as "The Anniversary will make long-time fans happy", and in regards to the show, that it is "the most expensive we've done and longtime fans will appreciate how far the show has come with Megaforce".

Meaning - anniversary merchandise for fans, and maybe a nod or two in the show.

I hope I'm wrong - I'd love to have an awesome anniversary season.

Well, I would say the entire season counts as an anniversary.

This is good news. I always had a good feeling about Megaforce, and I'm hoping Saban doesn't disappoint. Again, I keep telling myself than Samurai's problems were due to its rushed nature, and also due to Jonathan Tzachor being not so good at Power Rangers anymore as well as being obsessed with near-identical translations.

Does anyone know if Tzachor is doing Megaforce?

Oh Saban. You stole half a season from me. You stole Gosei Knight and made him RoboKnight, cause yer Lazy. So much work to do before you make me happy again. Sooooooooooo much woooooooooooooooork.

I can't confirm either way, but I think it's safe to assume that Tzachor will continue to be EP for many more seasons to come.

I suppose at the very least half-seasons mean we can't really get a near-identical translation. Goseiger's story very much relied on all 50 episodes.

So in other words someone needs to lock him up in their basement.

Unless they're bringing back every Ranger ever to voice over the Legend War, I don't see how it can be THAT expensive...

If by expensive they mean they're bringing older Megazords into their modular line, then sure.

If they were to get to many actors back for just voices, I'd be pissed. The actors need to appear.

PS I do hope some of the cost went to better actors.

It would be pretty cool to see them all on screen again, but how often would it result in the actor just standing around until it's time to morph?

Man, I have to watch out before I overhype myself. It's been a good many years before I was this excited about a Power Rangers series.

If they're really doing both Goseiger and Gokaiger as one show, I highly doubt they'll run out of footage anytime soon.

Plus they have the option to make their own footage.

Ever seen Stephen Spielbergs "War of the Worlds"? Was billed as "The most expensive film ever made" at the time it came out....I dare you to explain to me where the money was in that POS film.

Let's not forget Saban has access to the crossover movies and both the goseiger and gokaiger movies.

Makes sense, that guy is not cheap to hire. I don't think exorbitant cast members' salaries will be a problem with Megaforce.

I agree with the public, If we don't get every ranger ever (I would settle for their voices) I will be a very unhappy fan come 2014.

There is no way we get every Ranger ever. We'll be lucky to see Atleast one guy from Mighty Morphin and that will be Tommy. If for nothing else , because he is willing and the face of MMPR.

The only thing is though, would he be MMPR Green Or White? Also how would they explain him still having his powers? The Green Ranger Powers were theoretically left with tom in the distant past, and the white ranger powers are gone for good. If anything, he could become Zeo Ranger 5 Red because those powers were never "destroyed" they were simply discarded in favor of the turbo powers.

If they bring back past rangers, i would love to see a new forever red/ once a ranger but with less crap XD

Your missing the Black Dino Rangers as well, but those did get burned away...I don't know in my opinion just for Tommy, I feel like as if he should be the only ranger to...Ranger change at least in the Legends War Movie? Pretty much like Gokai change, but just for Tommy since he has a legacy for being 4 different ranger 5 if you want to count Turbo.

Remember that time Tommy returned for the SPD/Dino Thunder crossover?

Tommy was only mentioned in "Once a Ranger".

I now they already said that Rangers won't return to be substitute teachers. But I still hold out hope JDF comes back as one. Or somehow.

This is gonna sound totally lame to folks here and I know that, but I know very little about Rangers, etc. I am extremely interested in them though. Throughout the years I have purchased them in the stores when I saw something that I liked, but I can't honestly say I've ever sat through and watched an episode. I've run across alot of cool stuff in Japan, and I think it sort of provoked a stronger desire to get a little more involved with the PR series as a whole. So here I am.

Learned about the series from seeing the toys in the store. ((Purchased a few of the Rangers. Black and Pink.)) I honestly believe I am going to sit back and watch the series.

I have looked at alot of it on Wiki, etc, and am failing to 'really' understand what's going on. But I am excited to figure it out over time. So yeah, looks cool to me.

Thuy Trang died years ago. So definitely not going to see every Ranger.
