Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Poll #1 - Green Ranger or White Ranger?
 

This is the first in an upcoming set of Power Rangers polls for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!

Who was the better 6th Ranger (granted they were both Tommy, but which was your favorite?)

Rita Repulsa kidnapped a young teenager named Tommy and with the Sword of Evil's influence, created the evil Green Ranger who successfully managed to defeat the Power Rangers. It wasn't until Zordon returned that the Power Rangers were able to destroy the Sword of Evil and free Tommy from Rita's brainwashing. Tommy and his Dragonzord joined the team and helped defeat Rita time and time again.

But it wasn't meant to be - Rita used the Green Candle to drain Tommy of his Green Ranger powers, and he passed the coin and remaining power to Jason, the Red Ranger. But when all seemed lost, Zordon infused Tommy with part of his own powers to bring the Green Ranger back, bolstering their ranks to stop Rita.

Lord Zedd appeared and made it his short-term goal to eliminate the Green Ranger. He succeeded but at the cost of Tommy defeating his "evil Rangers" plan. Tommy left Angel Grove. Lord Zedd created a new monster that defeated the Power Rangers ... and Zordon and Alpha-5 created the White Ranger, who turned out to be Tommy, who became leader of the Power Rangers and defeated Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, Master Vile, and eventually went on to help defeat the Machine Empire and Mesagog.

So which is it? Go Green Ranger Go, or White Ranger Tiger Power?

I'm a bigger fan of Green's design. It's a lot more iconic for one thing, and the armor seems a lot more cluttered on White.

Not dissing White , because i loved Tommy no matter what color he wore. Green just has a bad ass feel to it.

I voted Green. It was the beginning of the Tommy Legacy, and in my opinion, the best looking suit in the entire franchise (minus, of course, the King Ranger/Gold Ranger from OhRanger/Zeo).

As usual with my indecisive nature, I'll have to go back and forth on this.

I think that's why I'd say I'd go with White. I like the more angular designs on White's costume compared to Green, and as a kid, I never got over the image of Green as an anti-hero, compared to white who was to me more of a lawful good hero (I'm a sucker for lawful good heroes).

I also prefer Saba as a weapon compared to the Dagger, and the White Tigerzord is definitely superior to the Dragonzord for me. So, by a small margin, White is my pick.

White Ranger. There was more of a build-up onscreen for him. Tommy lost his powers, the Rangers were being beat-down on a daily basis, something needed to change. Zordon and Alpha were being secretive, what were they building? Who was this new Ranger? Would he even be Human? And then they reveal him, Kimberly faints.. and it goes to freaking comercial!

Green Ranger? It was a big Meh. He wore Green the entire time they were asking "Who's The Green Ranger?" And it's like "Hey, Dumbasses! Try asking the new kid who only wears Green!".

Kiba's suit is better, Saba is better. The only thing I won't agree with Comicguy with is Dragonzord. I loved Dragonzord, Dragonzord was what I wish MehcaGodzilla was. Not that mecha isn't awesome too. Just saying DZ is more... Awesomer.

So I voted White.

White ranger. No contest.

The Green Ranger is only really cool when he's evil. Once he's good he spends half the time turning up late, and the other half being rubbish because the powers are fading.

Good point, Green Ranger didn't do that much due to footage restrictions. White Ranger had a stronger presence due to his position as leader, and his appearance in the movie only made him more prominent in my mind.

Green Ranger, he's evil, he's reformed, he only shows up in a pinch, he loses his powers, he gets his powers back, he's targeted as the weakest link and has to fight for his powers.

White Ranger? Even as a 12 year old kid I couldn't get past how the show just kept TELLING you that Tommy was still cool....and I didn't buy it at all. I think when he jumped out of a plane "with the cool skyboard" that was the last straw for me, now you hop to ZEO and Tommy being Zeo Ranger V..... well now you had a cool character again.

Dragonranger. You could tell when white ranger was introduced that the kibaranger must have been such a drastically different character and the green suit was just far more intriguing and fit better with the other rangers due to being from the same Japanese series.
