Saturday, November 26th - Power Rangers Samurai vs. Power Rangers RPM on Nick
Yup.
Airs on Saturday. Written by Amit (who wrote "Forever Red" and "Reinforcements from the Future" during the "Power Rangers Wild Force" season) is the writer for this episode. Story: The remnants of the machines from the RPM dimension cross-over in to the Samurai dimension, leading to the Samurai Rangers meeting the RPM Ranger Red. When the two Red Rangers are hit with hypnobolts, they turn on each other, and the fate of the entire Universe is at stake. No one will confirm or deny the appearance of any of the cast from RPM Rangers. Though it was tweeted that the actor "Mike" from Power Rangers Samurai and "Tenaya 7" from Power Rangers RPM recently had lunch together, but Eka (the RPM Red Ranger) has been long gone from New Zealand due to Terra Nova shooting (on FOX). |
Ah, so that's how they'll work in the fighting scene from Shinkenger vs Go-Onger.
Well I certainly hope this crossover goes well. I'm a bit scared of how it may turn out
I'm actually gonna watch this, so curious as to how it turns out
While its not looking good for the episode, "Reinforcements from the Future" my favourite PR crossover so I do have some hope for it.
someone needs to provide me a download link for when it becomes availible, i don't have cable or satillite
From what I've read so far, Samurai has done yet another massive time jump and introduced new things without any sort of explanation.
get used to it, Gokaiger is coming :D
It was an ok crossover. I did like how they brought back Eka to voice Scott/Ranger Red but they kind of butchured the character for the sake of the plot/footage from Go-Onger vs Shinkneger. I also don't think it was a good idea to use footage from both that and the first Shinkenger movie since the plot really suffered from trying to have two different story lines going on at once, plus the ending felt really rushed. Also, it may have just been me, but the acting from the Samurai Rangers seemed better than usual in this movie.

I'll just repost what I said over in the TFW Samurai thread...

well downloading it now, will give it a watch after work tomarrow
I heard they did a hatchet job, combining first and second Shinkenger movies together
I saw it, honestly it wasn't that bad, i enjoyed it for what it was
if boredom ever over take me, i will probably check it out
i just remember my dad called samurai gold a twerp XD
it's hard for me to see anyone else do that role of Genta
i think you still see the back of genta's head in this lol
No, they are not using the Japanese footage of the civilian actors are they?
Antonio is the best character in it. He's no Genta, but he's got a whole lot more personality (and acting talent) than the other five of them.
Somehow I missed the second part of it. But just watching the first part got me interested in RPM enough to track down the megazords to build G12
I missed this!
it was boering - no other rpm rangers in movie
This exceeded my expectations of a Power Rangers Samurai episode. I was half expecting them to mess up the RPM Rangers, but the backstories were faithfully kept, if a little vague.
The team-up for what it was in all honesty wasn't that great, nor was it a team-up ... a "in the suit the whole time" Scott Truman with not even a cameo of the other RPM Rangers (in suit at least) was a let-down. Big let-down. But the first part where we hear Eka's voice as he saves the Samurai Rangers ... and calls out some of the weapons ... awesome.

I was thinking that considering the seemingly horrific rumors and news we got regarding this team-up, what we ended up getting was surprisingly better. The initial news and details lowered my expectations a lot. |
Just finished wathing it thanks to netflix launching in the uk. I thought it was really well done personally. I'd imagine there were legal issues or just the fact that toei don't own the Scott character or something as to the main reason he didn't de-morph. Frankly though it wasn't needed, it was just a really good episode of samurai and blending the shinkenger movie with the team up movie was genius.

Ahh cheers man, I wasn't sure what had gone down with Saban requiring the franchise. At least they didn't just try and pass someone else off as Scott. Still i enjoyed it and I have hope for the future =]
Just finished it, and aside from some dumb one-liners (and Antonio) it wasn't too bad. They combined the two movies better than I expected, and while not seeing demorphed Scott was disappointing, it didn't seem... forced. The Samurai cast also had some decent acting in this one. 8 out of 10.
