Definitely going with "meh". Every time I think it's getting good, it manages to dash my hopes :(

Meh, the plot interests me but the actors need to learn how to act better. Especially Erika Fong, but that's probably because I think she's kinda cute.

I'm finding the later episodes of season one are (IMO) a step up from the early shows. If only since they have diverged from Shinkenger with Decker/Daiyuu's back-stories and not throwing in the Super mode when it was in japan.

I also liked the RPM crossover, despite the lack of other rangers from RPM and the non-existence of Scott's unmorphed scenes. I like that they put the Movie and Vs. special together and made something that was half-way entertaining.

I have high hopes for season 2.

This is it for me. There are some other reasons I do not really like it, but this isn't really a fitting place to discuss them. I don't think just diverging from Shinkenger makes it worth a watch, though I guess it wouldn't bother me so much if most of the acting was kind of eh. I only really pay attention for Gold anymore just because I love Genta too much and Antonio doesn't suck 100% for me. I'll keep watching just to compare with Shinkenger, but my sisters (12) prefer Shinkenger, and they've watched both with me. So I guess, eh.

Samurai manages to be REALLY good sometimes - but then it always seems to freak it outself out by being TOO different from Shinkenger, and thus the episode will 180 itself in to being a true Shinkenger adaption, thus ruining the show (in a sense) because it fails to make a lot of sense.

I think the acting has improved, but I'm wary for "the second season" to start.

Remember when Samurai first started, all the actors made it a point to state how their characters and the Shinkenger characters are "very different" ... and yet, they've been nearly identical.

Now they're saying the second season is "so much better" but I just ... don't think that's going to happen. I wish I could love Samurai - I've seen almost every episode (the Halloween and Christmas one I did not watch). It's just continually falling short for me ... and I didn't watch Shinkenger.

I'm gonna go into the second season hopeful but I really wish they had gone with an alternative for the Shinkenger super modes. I want to see something more akin to the red ranger battlizer figure.

Has there been any confirmation on when Samurai will resume? I would like to know whats gonna happen next....

The coats have grown on me, personally. Plus the PRS Super mode figures actually make it kinda cool looking IMO. I think if they had changed that up too much then they'd have to shoot too much footage, which I understand.

I just hope the Battlizer won't end up being cockpit only though, even if I don't really care for it, it'd be a waste of a cool design then.

Oh, don't get me wrong I like the coats - I would have liked to have seen something a little different in Samurai. I agree that going back and changing it would result in a lot of new footage (and by the sounds of it Saban have their work cut out for them with the Gokaiger adaptation so no wonder they want to keep it low for Samurai) but after making (IMO) awesome mega mode costumes and have them only used for cockpit scenes, using the coats is a little disappointing.

I think the megamodes are alright, though the helmets kinda missed the mark for me (I know what they were trying to do, but it doesn't quite work for me) Which is why I like Gold's the best (I might be biased because I'm a shinkengold whore, but goddamn his Megamode is sexy)

Disappointed he didn't get a robotic version of the Sakanamaru though. That would've been even more epic than the Mega Blade toy.

At least having the Mega Mode suits and using them means they weren't a total waste to make though. Maybe they'll find another use for them when they need more American footage.

I like the Megamodes with the exception of the helmets, I just don't feel molded mouths work well with the Shinkenger/Samurai helmet design.

Yeah, the mouth's the problem. Otherwise the general idea of the helmet is pretty good, just the mouth area is...yeah.

Oh I absolutely LOVE Gold's MegaMode. The black and no blue ... sexy. Have to say it.

Dat shine too. (Speaking of that, the American footage loves to use the SUPER SHINY HELMET even more than the Japanese footage. They used it times after his introduction in Shinkenger, but I swear every American shot footage of Gold likes to use the shiny helmet for some reason)

I gave up on the show after about 5-6 episodes. And considering I was willing to sit through all of Wild Force and Operation Overdrive, that is saying a lot.

Yeah, Gold is definitely especially shiny in Samurai.

Samurai is on a good note with me only because they got Eka (though credited with a screen name to not piss off the unions) to voice RPM Ranger Red in the "movie". Skipped the Christmas episode on purpose.

Whilst I don't like RPM as much as I do Go-Onger, I was glad to hear Eka's voice again. Even if it's under a Pseudonym.

I watched the first few, it didn't grab me. But I'm only just getting back into PR thanks to Linkara and Netflix. Whether or not it's a good show by recent standards is totally unknown to me.

I'm mostly just disappointed in how they seem to be using Bulk. They guy got more character development than anyone and he's doing the same gags he did back in MMPR Season 1. When I first heard about the show I thought they were making him the new Rangers' MENTOR. THAT would get me watching. Seeing something thrown in his face again was literally only funny the first time.

Jason Narvy ("Skull" from MMPR) was apparently in talks with Saban to do an episode or two of Samurai for the second season. At a convention appearance he basically said "There's talk of" and wouldn't go in to any more detail.

Having "Skull" return ... might be Samurai's saving grace :lol

As long as he doesn't return only to accidentally throw a cake in Bulk's face or something :lol

About two months ago, I realised the single perfect word to describe Samurai and it is: POINTLESS.

For anyone that knows Shinkenger exists, watch that instead. Same story, but told better with better actors. A ton of good stuff is taken away in Samurai with little to nothing in it's part other then Bulk and Spike. If Bulk and Spike (not Skull) are the only thing good about the show, then there's a problem. And don't get me started on the RPM crossover.

However, I do enjoy the toys as a cheap substitute to Shinkenger toys (also helps I'm a 4" scale collector).

PS For the record, I use to defend Samurai before I watched Shinkenger, but I can't anymore.

Just feels like they hit a reset button on the progress they had made MMPR to Wild Force. I'm sure they'll get better as they go onto other seasons.

Consider this my first post on this site, yay. As for Samurai, I'm sorry but the whole ordeal with this show so far has been rather meh for me, especially the acting feeling so bad and even cringe worthy at times. Heck I just started watching Season 1 and 2 of MMPR from Netflix and even the acting from those shows were miles better and this is MMPR we're talking about here. Oh well, if anything this show, as terrible as it may seem, has produced one hell of a toyline. If only distribution hasn't been so terrible here I'd be able to appreciate it more and from the looks of it, I'm stuck with either Toys'R Us (which still has mostly Wave 1 stuff) or hunting for the figures online, which is something I never expected to occur with Power Ranger items.

I like aspects of Samurai, but so far I've only seen the first episode. I'm more looking forward to the next PR project.

Wow, I'm the first person to vote yay. Weird.

I'll be honest and say I don't find Samurai a particularly good show, but my vote for yay is due to the fact that it has made Power Rangers bigger than it has been since the old Saban era days. Somehow it gets the job done, thrilling kids despite its poor dialogue and acting.

It also delivers great toys that keep throwing surprises here and there. From the action figures, to a great looking Zords, to the surprisingly awesome DX Mega Blade, to the TRU imports of SH Figuarts Shinkenger, Samurai has been the source of many good toys.

Plus, in a way, Samurai grew on me after a while and I came to like these guys. You get to see improvements in the acting of some such as Alex Heartman (Jayden) and even Britanny Pirtle, who, while still not stellar, has shown marked improvements since the first few episodes.

The visual effects are also fantastic, with details that will boggle the mind. I can confidently say that this remains the most seamless splicing of Sentai and American footage that Power Rangers has had yet. It is certainly the best looking Power Rangers has been in terms of video presentation.

In addition, this may be a weird thought, but considering how badly it started, the only way Samurai can go is up, and this is evidenced by the improvements made as the season progresses. There are many surprises such as new combos, new powers, new suits (the Mega suits), and even story alterations (Deker and Dayu). The fact that the next season is called Super Samurai is at least intriguing.

Finally, the greatest thing about Samurai, for me, is that it brings hope. It brought life back to Power Rangers for the public audience, and who knows, given the extra resources at their disposal due to its success, future Power Rangers may be better scripted, casted and directed. The success of any future Power Rangers series might possibly be owed to the success of Samurai.

In a way, for me, Samurai is like (forgive me fans) the Transformers film series. I'm not a huge fan of them, but they grew on me, were charming, and were the economic powerhouses for the Transformers franchise. As such, like with them, I'm grateful to have Samurai.

Just wishing that they would release two versions of the Sentai shows. The Americanized ones, and the original versions.

I just don't get it... why are these people Samurai in the first place?

not sure on this ver of american power ranger team although my 5 year old daughter loves watching it and has me play with her it just seems a little 2 campy ,plus what is bulk doing back in the series with out skull,why is there a new nuckle head for him to boss around

Toys are yay, show is nay, overall average is meh.

Some episodes were good, such as the "movie", and the introductory episodes for the auxiliary Zords, but that's about it. The bride one made me want to punch a hole in my soul.

Acting's horrible, too.

I'm more in the middle of meh and nay, the plot is meh, the acting is bad by power rangers standards, the addition of bulk and spike, while funny at times they really serve zero purpose on the show.also the puns, yes power rangers are known for them but for some reason the puns in this season have been awful. I do like the megamode suits though.
