Well that was a solid episode. Nothing special in particular, but I felt the way they handled Kizaki's development was well done. Seems like he'll be trusting Wizard but not necessarily actively working with him.

Haruto is so boring.
|
Good episode. I really like seeing the police trying to fight the Phantoms. It brings back fond memories of Kuuga and Agito. It's always nice seeing the giant dragon foot, too.
Next week's episode looks like it features a lot of Shunpei. Fuck. :( |
Another good episode. Great action scenes, just the right element of drama to make them interesting. Would be better if it moved the plot along a bit further, but oh well. There's still a long way to go on the series.
Since this is the first Kamen Rider show I'm watching as it comes out, it's a bit hard to judge, but I think this would have been a bit more of a slog watching a bunch of episodes at once. With OOO and Fourze I liked the characters and setting a lot more than I do currently in Wizard. Having the main setting be the ring shop wasn't a great choice since it doesn't exactly help generate plots. We wouldn't be missing much if we never even saw the shop. Liked that those of who guessed the stone was for Hurricane Dragon are probably right, due to the preview |

Good episode if a bit boring in the middle. Even if Kizaki does trust Haruto and the others it just seems absurd to me that he'd just let Wajima have the Hurricane stone. It seems a little too easy but whatever, TV show logic. Glad to see Gargoyle go too, that was a piss poor design. |
Pretty good episode, if a little laggy in places. Very much enjoyed the police taking on the phantoms and Kenzaki in general. Was hoping the conflict between him and Haruto would last a bit longer but oh well. Hopefully he'll still stick around.
Looking forward to Hurricane Dragon. Three episodes in and I'm already bored of flame. Quote:

Hey, evil monster hand! I was wondering when one of those would turn up.
OK-ish episode, still setting up stuff. I dug Wizard rapid-firing Gargoyle's shell off, but . . .ehh, something felt off. Not sure what. Hurricane Dragon next week--good. Shunpei getting time to do more comedy--bad. |
Next episode being a Shunpei episode is probably the only reason why I'm gonna watch.
Beast better show up before the movie, because my interest in Wizard is waning fast. |

Overall I felt the episode was better than episode 10, and not bad by any means, but I will echo the statement that Haruto is a bit boring. I wish he would show a bit more emotion like in episode 9. I don't expect him to be an emotional wreck all the time, but something beyond saying "Pretty much" or "I will protect the gate no matter what" or whatever would be nice.
|
It's like Haruto is trying to pull off Tendou's disinterest and utterly failing.
|
I know this is awful to write, but I'm really hoping Wizard fails to save a Gate. If you're going to do a darker series, at least have your hero fail at least ONCE.
@ Den-O: I'll admit I was wrong about Dragon this episode. But until the series ends, I'm keeping my eye on him. |

Unless you're just comparing it to Fourze, because stubbing your toe would be dark compared to Fourze. Anyway, no form of redemption for the Phantoms (Since all of them sans Cait Sith only want to further Medusa's/Wiseman's plans), no real personalities for them (Once again, beyond Cait Sith and Phoenix), and none of them are really noteworthy (AGAIN. Except Cait Sith. I swear, I'm going to hold his death against this series), Haruto is as dull as a plank, Shunpei only gets to be silly in the background (Except for next episode), once Rinko and what's her name (Forgot it, the doll chick) got over their little rivalry, they both just kinda stand around, and Wajima's only purpose is to make the plot devices. Neither group of characters is interesting. I'm blaming the Phantom's lack of interest on Medusa (Who makes Kai look like an interesting and astounding character), so I hope she's the one to bite it during the late teens, early twenties... |
I don't really want it to be darker than dark. Like you stated, I just want these guys to have personalities. Haruto is dangerously close to Gary Stu territory.
Part of why I liked Double, OOO, Fourze and Kuuga is because the characters did stuff. Not as much as a Star Trek character, but enough to the point where I can care about what goes down with them. But Wizard is just like a bad Vegas show: All flash, no soul. |

After all, these failures will result in the deaths of the gates. It's not a simple corruption. |

Since he's tapping into the Dragon for his tier-2 form changes, doesn't that mean he could go bad or something, like Eiji did from using PuToTyra too much?
|
I'm still hoping Kizaki will become Beast.
As for Haruto failing to save gates, I predict that only happening for when they add a new general. |
I think Kizaki being Beast is a long shot but I do hope he become a recurring character.

So y'all, what's the over/under on how many forms you think Wizard will end with total? We've got the 4 base forms, the 4 dragon forms (and, I would imagine, a combined version) and . . .how many more, you reckon? |
