Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger revealed!
 

Bandai's Tamashii Nations website has revealed the heroes from the forthcoming Hikōnin Sentai Akibaranger (Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger)!

The series is set to premier in April and follows three people who live in Akihabara's Electric Town among other otaku. When they learn that a malevolent entity plans to annihilate their neighborhood, they become warriors to wipe out evil — with the help of super gear created by a beautiful and brilliant genius.

Costumes are really unorthodox and unique. Definitely something interesting to look out for.

Two girls and one guy, that's a first. Designs are interesting, very anime inspired.

I'm really digging the design. I swore this was supposed to be an anime and not a live action show. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this.

i dig it. They all look pretty cool but red looks awesome. Guess this explains why people thought it could be part live action part anime, what with the hair styles built into the helmet. Its a clever fusion of Super Sentai and the nerd culture its supposed to feature... and thats just in the suits, can't wait to see the rest.

Go-busters is the next "official" Super Sentai, aka Super Sentai #36. Akibaranger is an "unofficial" Sentai, a spin-off that happens outside the boundaries of the actual Super Sentai.

Well, those designs are certainly... a thing.

Funny thing is we thought the Go-busters had weird designs. Then the Akibarangers come along and completely mess up the traditional formula for a Sentai suit. Go-busters look utterly conformist by comparison!

It'll definitely take some getting used to. Is this show geared to adults?

Remember Battle Fever also has hair helmetsm Miss America had actual hair!

Since it's an "unofficial" series I'm down with whatever they want to do with the suits/whatever. It's an awesome extra thing we're getting this year, and I'll treat it as such :D

That being said, I do really like the anime-inspired designs.

I like the look. Is this even legal, though? I mean this is a knock off for all intents and purposes, right?

Oh... They're like the Kamen Rider G in the Sentai world.

I don't like the red guy's helmet. The pig-tails on yellow are kinda neat though.

Looks more like Den-O Rangers than a Sentai series.

You can hardly see them. Also there is a rule that should be expressed in this fandom:

Don't judge suits and such before seeing them in action

I say that because I see people say how much they hate suits or mecha before a show starts, and then after they see them in action it changes to COOOOL. Just a thought.

Absolutely loving the Red's design the most. Nice to see Sentai series is getting some of the imaginative suit designs often reserved for Kamen Rider.

Their helmet hair weirds me out. Has a fan art feel.
