I really love this design, considering it's what got me back into Toku. I love how it looks with the sword on its back.

That will always be my second favorite mech of all time. (With Gosei Ground being the first)

Such a beautiful mecha. Fantastic gallery as always Den-O!

great gallary and it could of been easly shruken down for mega force like it is now and include zord builder pegs along with the sword for mega force

Awesome looking mech , the dragon is easily one of the coolest dragonzords we have gotten.
|
This design makes me wish for a SOC version, the scene when the dragon docks with the snake is just awesome
|
Gorgeous gallery sir. Kind of makes me want to get this release over the BoA one...

Wow, there's a nice sense of heft that I think the Megaforce version lacks. This is not surprising, usually Bandai of America opts for a sleeker styling. While sleeker aesthetics look nicer for some mecha, like the Samurai Megazord, I'm thinking I like the beefier look of the Gosei Great over the Gosei Great Megazord.

I really prefer this one to the US version. Just from the pictures I've seen it looks like a pale imitation of the actual Gosei Great. This thing is a very fun figure that I think alot of people over look becaused of a show that's perceived badly. The show itself is quite enjoyable and the DX mecha from it are very affordable, and fun to boot! When I get to the Headder Brother galleries this week you'll all see what I mean.

yea i saw a review of the megaforce verstion and red dragonzord is different the neck does not come off like the BOJ one to be come part of the sword it gets pushed in instead.
|
I think it looks bad.
Individually it's like they couldn't make up their mind between machines and animals so they slapped animal heads on random machines and so we ended up with a decent snake, a pretty lame dragon in comparison to ones we got in the past, and a dull everything else. The transformation is too simple for my tastes. It makes the Ninja Megazord look complicated. The dragon barely transforms at all. You just pull off a bunch of parts, flip the head around, and then reassemble. Combine it starts to look a little better, but it's a bummer not more can be done with the wings. The changes they made for the US release are all good ones, IMO. |

Wasn't the Gosei Great badly reviewed by some prominent reviewers? This always puzzled me because I was very attracted to its design. It also helps that a dragon forms the base of the combination.
I'm wondering if I should get the BoJ DX version over the American Megaforce version. I guess I'll wait for more reviews of the American version first. |

Eh, I'll make do with the minipla kits just ordered on Mandarake.

I don't know about Gosei Great; it's one of those few mecha that I can't quite make up my mind on. On one hand, it's a nice colorful design with animals we haven't seen in the same place before, and it gets major props for not being quite as much of a Voltron-Oh as many other mecha of it's time. But on the other, it's too blockedy block all around, it uses the exact same animals with the exact same color in the exact same position that previous mecha used(blue shark arm from Gao King, yellow tiger leg from Daizyujin, black rarely used animal legs from... Kakure Daishogun, I guess?), and that sword is just too big.
But I liked the design enough to buy the Minipla versions of Gosei Great, Datas Hyper, and Gosei Grand, and I'd be lying if I said I regret those purchases. |
