Wizard Episode 15: "After the Last Scene Is..." Discussion
1. Satoshi is Lizardman?! 2. Can Haruto keep Chizuru from learning the truth? 3. Will the finished film be what breaks Chizuru? 4. Water Dragon Debuts! 5. ~DISCUSS! PLEASE~ |
Did they show the complete Dragon form in the intro? Huh.
EDIT: Water Dragon's finisher. Oh my GOD. |
At first I wasn't enjoying the episode because of how Haruto and the others kept from Chizuru that Satoshi was the Phantom (Also, how the hell could she not tell it was him? Her eyes were covered for 2 seconds!). I did enjoy the second half, interesting how Haruto actively deceived her to make sure she didn't lose hope. It really shows how determined he is to keep people from becoming Phantoms.

Also I take it that the blonde guy in the next episode is the one rumors were floating around about. Which means he's Beast and he'll be fully appearing in the next episode after that. |
Man, this show just keeps getting better and better. Loved seeing Water Dragon in action - if the Dragon forms are this crazy I'm really anxious to see what Haruto's final form is like.

The Dragons Forms are the redeeming thing for me. I find most episodes to be Shinkenger levels of boring right now. But the Dragon Forms are far more awesome than the standard costumes and have ridiculous powers which I love. On that note I am so beyond glad that he didn't use that same damn copy trick on the sword this episode. Talk about a one-trick pony.

Haruto himself is growing on me a lot, too. He's reminding me more and more of the caring, collected, and competent Riders of the Showa era, which is a nice change from the less professional heroes we've had for the last several seasons. He's one of the rare Heisei Riders that I could see one of the classic guys hanging out with as a peer, not as a senior hanging out with a kid. That scene at the end with him and Rinko talking about Chizuru? That may be the moment that I'll look back on as the defining moment when Haruto clicked for me. |

The first half of the episode I didn't care for, usual boring Gate emotional back story stuff. Great fights in the last half though, along with some decent acting. Liked Haruto much more this episode than previously. Some real depth to him here.
Highlights of the episode for me were the hints at the Phantoms plan. Dying to know what Medusa told Lizardman that made him sign on board with them! And Wiseman... it's a bit silly that his plan seems to be to leave little magic nuggets on his bed for people to find, but I'm sure there's more to it than that. |
Man, Water Dragon is a beast! Definitely my favourite of his dragon styles so far.
This episode started off quite boring, but came together quite quickly and all in all was probably the strongest so far. The gate plight was really well done, the fight scenes great and Haruto's really beginning to feel like an actual character. More of this here on out please! |
What's this? Haruto deciding to sympathize with the gate and deciding to not tell her of Satoshi's fate, rather than trying (And failing) to be stoic and uncaring?
Is Haruto actually starting to become a character? Anyway, was a nice episode. I personally enjoyed it. The later half especially. Water Dragon was neat, Blizzard was pretty cool, and next episode is looking interesting (Odd, considering Christmas episodes tend to be the write-off and goofy ones). The only problem I have is that Medusa is still alive. She was more active these past two episodes, but it wasn't out of impatience or anything. Her actions were entirely to prevent Lizardman from berserking and killing the Gate, not out of her own self interest, meaning she'll be back to standing around, crossing her arms, and making threats to other Phantoms next episode... Oh, and getting a nice look at Wiseman, he looks terrible. I'm not going to beat around the bush. The Wiseman design looks awful. |
Solid episode. Water Dragon is awesome. Wiseman has a FORESHADOWING! moment. That's really about it. Not a special or all that important episode, just a solid one.

i love kr 000 's unwear sence in kr wizard 's opening

I'll echo both the statement of enjoying seeing an actual character in Haruto and the statement that Water Dragon is my favorite dragon style. I'm wondering how (or if, really) Land Dragon will top that without getting too ridiculous. Land has the claws of the dragon, IIRC.

I hope he fights in a more brutal manner with Land Dragon, at least. That would make his fighting style more interesting to watch. Haruto is flashy and all, but he tends to get repetitive (Dual wielding swordguns anyone?).

I'm still crossing my fingers and hoping the White Wizard is the actual antagonist... |
Come on now...everyone knows by now that the Dragon Phantom that Haruto has inside him will end up being the Grand Antagonist...
He'll come out near the end, leaving Haruto powerless, unable to change...then something "heartwarming" or "tearjerking" will happen, and he will discover that he truly is a Mage and can use the Wizard powers, but not the Dragon forms... Or something along those lines... |

Wiseman's design is subjective. I just find it ugly to look at. It's not horrible, it's not dumb, it's just ugly. |

If the Dragon form figuarts don't include their respective portion of the WizarDragon, then I'm not even buying (Besides, all you need to do is buy 2 Wizard Figuarts. They're all coming with the sword guns. But if the Dragon forms include two of each, that'd be hilarious :lol)

It could just be a fluke good episode. |

Ok I'll join the bandwagon, I thought Water Dragon looked badass.
Anyway, so Haruto didn't need to enter Chizuru's inner world to save her. Here's what I think: wouldn't she still be in danger from other phantoms since she's still a gate? Same with the pianist and the sweet shop owner? So I guess the logic is a gate can only be targeted by a specific phantom. Oh well... |

Anyway, while these two episodes were good, I'd still call the Kizaki episodes better in quality, but that's just me. |
