Awesome one-shot ring, that was. :)

The fight with Phoenix was bad-ass, especially Haruto running up the wall to transform.

And guess who's showing up episode after this? Thought for sure Land Dragon woulda shown up first . . . :)

I really liked this episode. Overall I think the show's dramatically improved over the last few episodes. Haruto has been conspicuously more emotive.

Preview for the next episode(is there going to be a break or is it next week?) looks great, of course.

Yeah, there's a week's break for both Super Hero Time shows.

Hey look, Rinko's actually doing her job for once....kinda :lol

Pretty good episode though, Toei have delivered some good Christmas episodes this year. The standard Wizard plot works quite nice condensed into one episode, and having Haruto face off against Phoenix again was better than cramming in a random Phantom. And finally good sprinkle of Christmas wackiness right and the end to top it all off.

Haruto's personality is beginning to shine through, but I thought it felt a little forced in this episode.

Yeah, yeah, we ALL knew it was gonna be Decade. ;)

So looking forward to Beast showing up. The next person who does the topic for his debut has to do the bullet points in Beast's colors.

What was... why... Santa's white? Not a beardless Japanese man?

Oh look, Haruto is finally doing some creative stuff with his rings. Awesome.

It looks like they're trying to make Haruto actually emote, it's not perfect (He stood around and just stared a lot, but at least they're trying. Him laughing at Rinko's costume was a good, if forced, start).

Honestly, that was probably everyone's reaction :lol

Seriously. I loved this week's episode. I like how they crammed everything into one episode, but it didn't feel squished. It was nicely paced.

Finally got to sit down and watch this. Really liked this one. There was alot more depth to the Gate of the week than usual. And Phoenix keeps on being awesome. Certainly one of the better riderd Christmas episodes I've seen.

Fun episode, even if the Santa thing was the most halfassed deus ex machina I've ever seen. That said, awesome wall running henshin is awesome. It made the episode for me.

On a side note, for a while now I've been thinking many of the episodes should've been one shots rather than 2-parters. It just never feels like there's enough happening to warrant the 2-part format. This episode makes me really lean toward wanting more one shots. I don't want all one shots, just more in the mix.


PS I spy W and OOOs Riders untransformed in the intro. Ultimatum may have just gotten even more interesting if they aren't faking us out on returning actors.

Well, for lots of movies they get the actors to return for their transformation sequence and they just voice for the rest of the movie.

I'm pretty sure Shotaro's actor is perfectly okay doing this each year :p

At first I thought the gift Santa gave to Haruto would be the Land Dragon ring but I guess the one he got made sense. I actually like Haruto laughing at Rinko in a Santa suit and his surprised reaction seeing Santa was actually funny. Excited for Beast's debut next episode.

The one to the left of Philip. Is that Terui or Wataru? I'm assuming Terui, but I'm just now noticing that those two have the same fashion sense :lol

That was a good single shot episode. I like Phoenix's gimmick of how he comes back stronger and how you essentially can't kill him the same way twice, Haruto will have to get creative. Rinko was also looking good in that Santa outfit :) And of course Santa showing up was pretty awesome. Now bring on Beast!

Is this a two parter or am I safe watching this episode on Sat?

DECADE! What is he?

I loved the entire episode except for the bit with Santa Claus. Seemed totally ridiculous and out of place, even for a show about bugmen riding motorcycles. Like I said though, I liked it aside from that, especially Haruto's showdown with Phoenix. That wall-running henshin and creative use of his rings (especially that quick move using Connect) made the episode for me.

I don't know, but it's all his fault.

Watched it today. It was a nice stand alone episode. I liked how it gave more insight towards Phoenix's resurrection ability. I'm expecting that in the 40s Haruto will have to find an item that allows him to remove Phoenix's ability from him.

OK so. My thoughts on the episode:

the Gate's motivation was quite heartwarming and the battle in his Underworld was awesome, but I thought the resolution was REALLY out of left field.

Also Phoenix's resurrection gimmick makes him a pretty legit villain, even if he and Medusa haven't been able to make a new Phantom in 16 eps.

Considering how critical I am towards Wizard, I'm finding that I'm a lot more accepting towards the Merry Christmas ring and the gifts all magically being restored...

I'm pretty sure the Merry Christmas ring creates Christmas presents instead of restoring destroyed ones. Which makes a lot more sense.

That does make far more sense to me. You can't recreate something entirety as it was before, Wizard's powers be damned!

The fact that he's saving people with evil monsters in them is still bugging me. What purpose do these 'Gates' have? Why is it that Earth needs people who can cast magic if they fall down hard into the villain hole when they give in to despair?

Nothing's really adding up for me here.

The Gates are the people with the potential to spawn more Phantoms. Thus, the possible number of new Phantoms is instantly limited, since there are only so many Gates in the world. The monster inside them that Wizard fights are their Phantoms (Wizard's is Dragon).

I don't see how it's confusing.
