Megaforce 'Retrofire' Gosei Great
16 Attachment(s)
Bandai of America's line of articulated, 6-inch Megazords continues into 2013 with the release of the Gosei Great and Gosei Grand Megazords. While not officially packaged as 'Retrofire' figures, these two possess the stylized design and high articulation of previous releases in the line. The Gosei Great Megazord stands about 6 inches tall and has 20 points of articulation including 5 in each arm, 4 in each leg, a waist that can turn 360 degrees, and a ball-jointed head. There is a lot of sculpted detail on the figure and only some parts lack paint applications. Gosei Great comes with it's signature sword that can be held in either hand. Overall, this mini Gosei Great is a grand figure that takes the retrofire formula from figures past and improves upon it.

Omg... they finally did the Retrofires right!
This figure looks like tons of fun. |
I have to keep an eye out for these. I like them a lot.
I'm still waiting for Retrofires of The 'In Space' Mecha and Super Zeo Megazord.....
Retrofire GekiTouja/Jungle Pride Megazord would be nice. Yadda yadda some old spiel.
Anyway, this one looks pretty nice. It's using some exaggerated proportions, but they're not overexaggerated to the point of ridiculousness like the MMPR one was. |
I want to see how it looks next to godzilla vinyl figures or a size comparison with another figure line. I want this real bad. I used to love the smaller Megazord action figures when I was a kid.
Surprisingly, it looks kinda good. If only the paint weren't dreadful.

Guess I know what I'm tracking down this month. |

Though the proportions of these figures don't generally do it for me, that's certainly one of the best Retrofires I've seen,
God yes give me one of those o-o ... So pretty....
I wonder if/when the SRC Gosei Great gets released if everyone will start calling "Trash" on this toy, too...
Meh. I really dont like the redesigns on this zords. Some look good, but, doesnt really call my attention. The only one that I liked was the ZEO and Jungle Pride megazords. Other than that, i could really care less for the others.

Wow, that picture with the MMPR villain has me sold! Beyond sold! I like the size, and it definitely reminds me of my old action figures. It'd be cool if they made a villain or two in scale with it so they could have zord battles. I guess fighting the mighty minotaur, and pudgy pig will have to suffice, lol |

Honestly, this seems of good quality. Maybe it's just me, but if I had this, and the SRC version came out, I'd probably pass on the Chogokin. Why pay so much extra for something when I can get something just as good (to me) for 12.99?
Again, that's purely me, personally. |

For all of the other series/Megazords I don't care as much about, I'm fine with picking up a retrofire for a fraction of the cost. And, like you, I use to love the 5 inch 'action zords' they used to make. I see the retrofires as just a continuation of that scaled down megazord line. |
Holy Crap I want this. Anybody know the MRSP?
The only SRC I want to get is Magiking, just cause it's perfection. That and the fact the wings add to the emotion/personality of the figure. If they start making the rest of the retrofires like this, then I'm sticking with retrofire.Way cheaper and the only difference is poseability. It's like choosing between SHF and SiC.
I love the retrofire gosei megazords. They finally stopped half assing the articulation on them. I like the previous ones but fully posable ones are amazing.
Wait is that consistent articulation I see?
Those shoulder mounted wings look terrible, i cant stand anything with that design.
Do want this guy, at least until there's any indication of an SRC coming. It looks like one of the best Retrofires yet.
If they continue having this level of articulation, I will probably pick these up.
Now those look bad ass.
Whoever asked, Amazon has them up for 12.99, so it can be assumed that that'll be the retail price, since that's Amazon's retail price.
Here is another design I want to see become a Super Robot Chogokin

You really must remember price point though, considering you're arguing the merits of a $15 toy vs. a $40 one.
Will SRC Gosei Great be superior to Retrofire Gosei Great? Undoubtedly. Do I want to do what I can to make sure a line like Retrofire (Or whatever it's called nowadays) stays around and steadily improves and not get axed because Japan put out a better one? Of course. Sometimes you have to take a step back. The Dragon Knight toys were crap. The Retrofire MM Megazord is not, regardless of the quality difference between it and the SRC Daizyujin. |
Are the shoulders ball jointed?
My local K-Mart has a few of these left. Is it worth picking up?
