Jetman - Green Eagle
 

As everyone may perhaps know, the end of Chojin Sentai Jetman saw the death of Gai Yuki, Black Condor. What you may not be aware of is that the series had a sequel in the form of a manga. This manga also featured a replacement for Black Condor, Green Eagle. Well I wound up with an extra S.H. Figuarts Black Condor and wanted to try my hand at shopping what Green Eagle would look like. There are no reference photos for his design other than this:

The manga diverges from the series in a couple of ways, including the odd visor like design of the helmets. Sort of like Gatchaman. Using Black Condor as a base, here's what I came up with in GIMP.

Nice, but I'm used to seeing Green Eagle as a lighter, more standard green.

How light exactly? I'm not aware of any official pictures of him other than the one I posted. At least not colored ones.

If I hadn't read the trope page for Jetman the other day, I'd be like "WTH is this?". Green Eagle looks pretty good.

Based on how dark the manga art was I just went a little dark myself.
Thanks! I'm actually trying to track down a decent customizer to paint my extra Black Condor in Green Eagle colors. Just trying to figure out what the best colors would really be for him.

I love it. I'm surprised that more "side" characters like this dont see releases. They could make such an awesome display!

Oh I know! I'd love to get guys like Green Ealge or X1 Mask.

I would SO buy a Green Eagle and X1 Mask. I'm sad that X1 Mask didn't get a ranger key.

I'd like to see (&buy) a Sentai Ranger Key of this guy.

X1 Mask does have a Ranger Key, but only in the Lost Edition Ranger Key Collection.

Given how little media there is of Green Eagle you did a good job with this custom Den-O.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll see a live action Green Eagle somewhere down the line?
