Kamen Rider Xtreme
 

I got the idea to post this here from OOO posting his Shizen Sentai Mushinger work on the forum. So now here we go. Kamen Rider Xtreme is a story that I've working on for a while now and it's taken about a year or so to get it to this state where I have actual character designs as well as something that resembles an overarching story line.

The story follows Alex Darwin, an orphan who's mother died when he was a child and his father abandoned him years later. Druing a run in with a Dopant (the same kind of Dopant from W) he obtains the X driver (Based on the W Driver) and becomes Kamen Rider Xtreme. He then sets out to take down Dopants wherever they emerge, and uncover the source of the beasts.

Now that the plot is out of the way, let's take a look at the riders. I do have designs of them in Civilian form as well as rider form, but to show the identities of them all would be spoiling the story so I'll just show the rider forms. First up, Xtreme himself.

Here are the three main forms of Xtreme from left to right: Star Runner, Blade Kicker and Blast Diver. He works the same way as W with the format of OOO. Put simply any of the top halves can be paired with any of bottom halves. His catch phrase is "If you call me an idiot for having hope, I'll just say that your wrong." and his finisher cry is "Your rampage has gone on long enough."

Now here's where things get interesting, the secondary Riders. There four of them which makes five in total. Each secondary rider is based on one of the four elements with ice replacing water. I can't say what order they appear in, but I will show each rider in the order that they were designed.

First, the rider of ice: Kamen Rider Yuki

Yuki is a little special, for she was what made me start this project. One day I thought to myself "Why aren't there that many female riders?" So instead of complaining about it, I decided to make one. However, she wasn't really main character material and that's when I made Xtreme. The name of her sword "Toketsu Seishin" translates to "Frozen Spirit" and the name of her kunai "Roge" translates to "Wolf's Fang"

Next, the rider of fire: Kamen Rider Ryu-O

The third rider to be designed. I created him while I was in a Kiva mood but couldn't find an episodes online for some reason. Basically, he's a fire breathing bad ass with a sword that becomes a gun. And as Linkara put it "Guns that become swords are awesome!"

Third, the rider of air: Kamen Rider Gale

The only asymmetrical design and the only rider out of the bunch to use a brace instead of a belt, her design is pretty much a female Ratoratah from OOO. Come to think of it that's probably because I had Ride on Right Time stuck in my head for about a month, boy what a month. Anyway, don't get used to that weapon because I have a much better one for her but haven't gotten it down yet.

And finally, we have the rider of earth: Kamen Rider Rock (Very original right?)

Out of all of them, Rock is probably the most outdated of the bunch. I do have a newer version that includes his driver but before I could export it from illustrator, my subscription expired so it's currently in AI format only. Anyway he's earth, he's green and has a hammer that becomes an axe.

Now great heroes are only as great as the villains they fight, right? Well unfortunately I don't have any of them finished just yet so I'll end things here.

Did you do all your drawings on a computer? They look sweet! :)

I sketched them all by hand and then scanned them into a computer and colorized them in Illustrator. It took me about month to get done... and that's just for Xtreme.

Taking a break from studying for exams so I decided to put this together. Took about five minutes to make, but I think it's pretty solid.

This is the teaser poster for Kamen Rider Xtreme. It showcases the four secondary riders as silhouettes to avoid spoilers as well as to keep them a mystery. I've also included the main rider being represented by the letter 'x' in the center. The silhouettes from left to right are air, earth, ice and fire.

Nice designs. However, Kamen Rider Yuki already exists.

That one is spelled with two 'u's mine has only one. Kamen Rider "Yuuki" already exists but Kamen Rider "Yuki" does not... YEAH LOOPHOLE!

It can also be spelled with an accented u, or the single, non-accented u.

Well regardless, they're both completely different. Besides if I used only names that haven't been used before I wouldn't get anywhere at all. Just look at it as an homage I guess.

Bio:
Always charging into battle with the intent to make the biggest bang possible, Tara often has a tendency to get a little carried away both on and off the battle field. She's highly artistic and is seemingly able to fly on rollar blades. With the help her best friend Kree, a small mechanical bird, she is gifted with the power of the wind and is sure to see her foes off with a graceful demise.

Really love the clothing design on her. It's honestly better looking then the original one with the yellow jacket.

Also, just a little note/question, is it really a good idea to give away a spoiler about a character? :lol

Spoiler? What exactly do you mean? The only things I see being spoilers are Alex being an orphan, which is revealed in the first episode, and Tara's first appearance.

Edit: Also Tara's jacket was blue not yellow.

The appearance is what I was talking about. I don't know, I think that would be something you'd want to keep under wraps.

Ah, okay well when you put it that way I guess you're right. I'll fix that now.

Time for a little bit of Kamen Rider Xtreme behind the scenes trivia! These are just a couple of interesting facts that I thought I would share with those who were interested.

-Back in planning, Xtreme was originally a sports based rider with the default forms of Runner (base), Blader (rollerblades) Kicker, and Diver with a belt that consisted of different keys relating to each sport that split apart and formed an 'X' shape when activated. This idea was scrapped when the concept of the elemental riders was put in place and the sports theme just didn't fit anymore.

-The Gaia Memories were originally going to be entirely new devices named "Soul Keys" that unlocked a persons hidden strength and slowly corrupted them during the time they used it. This was scrapped when I couldn't come up with a could design for how the keys should look.

-The Dopants that Xtreme was originally meant to fight in episode 1-3 were not Spite and Gorge but a T-Rex named Tyranno (replaced by Spite) and a black beast named Feral (replaced by Gorge). The commanders were then meant to have their first appearance later on in episode 4.

-In the original version of the pilot episode, Sarah Gardner was not present and Alex's teacher Ms. Foster took her place as the pain in Alex's behind.

-Alex's meeting with Sampson and Marcoh (originally named Fouler and Taylor) occurred near the end of episode 2 under different circumstances and did not result in Alex receiving the X Driver.

-Alex originally found the X Driver in his father's study after being attacked by the Tyranno Dopant, Tyranno later being replaced by Spite and attacking Alex in the park late at night with Alex already being in possession of the X Driver.

-Shiore's name was originally going to be Yuki Takahashi. The Yuki part was then made her rider name and she was renamed Mizore (sleet) Fubuki (snowstorm)... Then I started to lean more to the first name Shiori (bookmark, or guide) when the name Mizore just didn't fit. Then I just decided to merge them both together and thus, Shiore Fubuki was born.

-Due to Shiore having multiple names throughout the project I can still find files of her being referred to by said names. I have managed to work this into her character, but I'm not giving it away here.

-Madison's evolution into a minor to recurring character was a complete accident. In her first appearance in episode 4, I just picked a name at random and ran with it. Her existence in the story was not intended to go farther then that, but I kept her around because I thought a nice down to earth character would be helpful.

Hope you've enjoyed this little look into the production of the series. Will have some more fun trivia as the story progresses.

Finally, I managed to get a design for Shiore's rider form that I like. It took three attempts, but I finally got it right! :D

I'm really loving that new Yuki design man. It's like a mix of Go-Busters, and sci fi samurai armor. Which I love (the samurai and sci fi part, only saw one episode of Busters).

Ryu-O is fairly nice as well. He has that basic KR feel and make it work. And.... lol at the buster sword :lol

Glad to hear it! I get the sci fi samurai look but... not seeing the Go-Buster bit. Could you elaborate on that a bit?

What's so funny about a buster blade? :lol Also, hope you don't mind but I kind of borrow a bit of your {Classified Information} in making the helmet for Ryu-O.

The best way I could describe it is if you looked at Den-O's current avatar, you'd probably get where I'm going with it.

Nothing's funny about them. I just never pictured a Kamen Rider using a buster blade. I almost expect him to have a blonde hair on his helmet XD

I guess she does kind of look like Stag Buster a bit. Mainly in the color scheme, but I guess the resemblance is there.

Now I just need to make some adjustments on Xtreme's Star Runner form and I'll be all set.

I like Gale's design quite a bit (although me being me I think it would look bossier in black, red, and purple :lol). Rock's design is pretty good as well. Although I have to ask, what's that tube thing on his rider belt that's attached to his side?

I'm curious to know which parts would be which color in that variation... I might just make it. :lol

It's supposed to be a lever like on the Fourze Driver, only it flips all the way to the other side like the Kabuto Zector when he transforms.

Make the white parts black, the yellow parts red, and the blue and gray parts purple.

Awww. I just looked at it at first and though "Why the hell does he have a tub in his side? Does he think he's Bane or something?" :lol

What about the orange marks on her left arm guard?
