I never really payed attention to the theme up until now. and, its really good!

Gekiranger has always had a pretty wicked song, I'll give it that. But in all honesty? The Goseiger theme is my absolute favorite :D It's such an epic, powerful, uplifting song. It fits a good fight so well and it was the perfect back drop for the Legend War.

I actually watched a handful of episodes. The fight scenes do not bore. The whole theme and the mecha and the music just work. I also saw the one where they team up with Go Onger.

I made a top 5 list about this a while ago, but those were what I thought were the overall best that everyone enjoys, not my personal favorite. For me, there are always two themes that I can listen to over and over again and they are Shinkenger and Goseiger. Funny how they're side by side in sentai cannon.

I have a few I really liked (and I bought all these on iTunes), namely Kakuranger, Magiranger, Dekaranger, Gekiranger, Go-onger, Goseiger and Gokaiger.

I'm really surprised at how much I like Goseiger, really. I haven't even watched it:

God, I hate Gokaiger's opening. Most overrated opening of this century, possibly most overrated since forever.

I don't know, there's enough hate for it that I actually think it's pretty underrated. For instance, nobody has posted a Youtube link to it in this thread yet. It's not that popular.

No, the most overrated theme of the century is "Journey Through the Decade."

I wasn't talking about this thread, but in general. I remember a lot of people calling Gokaiger one of the best openings in the past. Also, them not posting Youtube links could be due to it being one of the harder openings to come across.

I was talking about Super Sentai, but yeah, that song's pretty awful too.

I don't like Gokaiger because it's too cheery and generic.

I don't like Journey Through the Decade because it's too slow and boring.

I actually love the Gokaiger theme too, the cheeriness is what hooksme. But Goseiger is still the most epic and best.

But as long as we're talking overrated, that Shinkenger theme is the most overrated sentai theme of the decade.

Nope, anything Psychic Lover related deserves every bit of praise it gets.

I'll respectfully disagree when it comes to that song.

Man if we're talking overrated, the Dekaranger theme is one for me. I like it a lot, but I still think it gets far more praise than it deserves.

Shinkenger is one of the most awesome Super Sentai themes of all time. It's just so kinetically energetic.

Okay, fair enough. I personally never found Journey Through the Decade boring, but I can see how people can. Now for Gokaiger being too cheery, I don't get that. Do you mean too upbeat and happy-go-lucky, or the fact that part of the chorus is literally "Let's go, let's Gokaiger!"? Because if it's the latter, then aren't all Super Sentai themes like that? Therefor making your point moot.

I find the contrast in our opinions to be somewhat perturbing. Are you sure you do not live in a universe that mirrors (one of) mine?

Goseiger's theme isn't nearly on the same level as Shinkenger's. I'll admit, I haven't watched Goseiger, so I don't know how fitting of a theme it is, but... there's just something about it that doesn't click with my idea of Sentai. Furthermore, the "TENSOU!" just kills it for me, as do some of the stylistic choices they made for the song.

Now, I watched Shinkenger. I adored almost everything about it. I will admit, I am really biased towards Shinkenger. But that does not mean the series is the only reason I like the theme. Whenever I hear "Chan chanbara, chan-bara! Chanbara bara, chan-bara!" I immediately begin singing along. Everytime I heard that theme, I got pumped for the episode. I have put this theme on a loop, full volume during parties (everyone else either didn't pay attention or were annoyed that they couldn't understand a word). To put it simply, I think the theme is appare.

I meant the first one. If it was the second, than I would also have a problem with Go-Onger's "3, 2, 1, Let's Go! OooonJaaaa!".

And I'll freely admit that I hated almost every single thing to do with Shinkenger. Barring that, I also still think the song is overrated.

Okay, let me see if I understand this. From what I gather, your main problem with the song is that it doesn't fit the series that it's meant to build up, right?
