Anyone have stand recommendations? Also need help tightening a loose joint.
 

So I've started collecting S.H. Figuarts, I've currently got Kamen Rider Black RX, Kamen Rider Fourze Base States, Scorpion Zodiarts, and I have Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Styles preordered.

Wizard, apparently, comes with a stand (if the listing on Amazon is accurate), which is awesome.

None of my other Figuarts came with stands though, and as such I'm a bit limited in the manner in which I can pose and display them. This is especially true of Fourze, where I can't get him to perform his limit break without a stand (and I don't have plans on getting the effect part and stand set for him, at least not at this time).

So what kinda stands should I look into getting? Are they relatively inexpensive? Do they only sell them individually?

Also, my Fourze has a bit of a loose shoulder, his right arm of all things too unfortunately. It holds itself alright, but if I have his rocket module attached I can't get it to stay up over a certain point at all, which really sucks considering it's a pretty crucial joint for posing that module. How do I go about tightening it?

You're going to want to look into Tamashii Stages, specifically Act 4s (Act 2 or 5 will also work - the former is opaque, the latter designed more for mech figures - avoid Act 3, they're really loose). You can get a three-pack for around $20 on Amazon.

Tamashii stages are the type that come with figures usually. I would recommend getting more of those. I've bought 3 sets so far of Tamashii Stage Act 4(clear) so far. I'm not sure about the other types, but I know the act 4 sets come with 3 stands each. And at regular price, only run about $15 per set. I also recently got Tamashii Stage Act W, but that's specifically for Kamen Rider W.

Now how about tightening up that shoulder joint? Any way to do that?

You don't want Stage Act 4s for Figuarts in jumping poses. The clear plastic joints of the hand (the thing that holds the figure) and base will eventually crack. This will cause the hand to become loose or even break fully. You will have better luck with the solid colored stands. I suggest that instead. It's the same, but solid black or blue or some such color.

If a figuart comes with a stand, it will be an Act 4. I recommend waiting if one of your preorders has one so you can try out a stand without having to buy them alone.

PS This could be easily fixed if Figuarts would adopt SIC KT's belt plugs.

For aerial poses the act 5 is awesome. 4s of course are great for general standing poses...on some site I possibly may have written about the 5s..

Looking at the shoulder, there are a few joints there. Are you talking about the swivel that lets him raise his arms or the ball joint that connects deep into his torso?

For the swivel joint, perhaps a dab of Future Floor polish in certain areas might work. First, let's hear what the other Figuarts enthusiasts have to say.

For your shoulder problem, I think there's a few possible solutions:

Try rubbing the joint with a clean cloth or (if possible) with warm, soapy water. This can get rid of any residual mold-release on the joint that can make it floppy.

If that doesn't work, you can try using some clear nail polish or nail harder to give the joint more friction. Super Glue is another alternative.

I've never owned a Figuart so I'm not entirely sure how to get to the joint but these methods have worked for me before on Transformer figures.

Yeah I'd recommend these but I was hoping we could get other opinions, because Figuarts joints are a lot more complex than Transformers and I was afraid that Transformers methods might not be applicable.

I'll have to see if I can get a good look at the shoulder to pinpoint where the problem is. Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated.

Edit: So feeling out the figure a bit, pretty confident that it's the joint inside of the shoulder, and I think his other arm may be similarly loose.

I completely agree. I took a look at the figure he's talking about and I'm really not sure how to get to the joint without dismantling the figure.

Yeah, I don't think it'll pop off like a ball joint on a TF, guess I'll just have to deal with it. Not the end of the world I suppose.

I can't believe no one has recommended Max Factory's di:stages. They are built for Figmas, but look great with Figuarts. The build quality is actually way better than the Tamashii Stages. The bases are larger and they offer more variety in how you pose your figures. Plus, each stage is only around 500 yen a pop.

That's the clear version. They also have a version with a black base. I say get a couple of these and you'll be golden. I can't recommend them enough.
