Seems like every bit of "Please, just take my money now!" news on the DVD front is from Shout! Factory. They have been so good to us! ;_;

Shout! Factory is awesome! Power Rangers couldn't be in better hands! :D This is awesome news! I just picked up the TF: Prime Season 1 from Target and it was a great package as all their releases are.

Sweet! RPM is a day one purchase, and after that, seasons like Time Force and In Space.

Interesting. Depending on the price, I will buy series sets of those that I own the Sentai versions to.

I'll be picking these sets up no doubt. So glad Shout got the rights to PR. This is great.

Finallly! Awesome!! I wish we could get Masked Rider, too, as terrible as it was. Shame Saban doesn't want to remember it existed.

The wait is finally almost over. Even with the ability to watch the Power Rangers episodes on Netflix, I will probably be picking up all or most of these releases. Great news.

I wonder if this means we can finally get Transformers: Robots In Disguise release on DVD here.

Indeed. Power Rangers on DVD is awesome, but I NEED RiD on DVD.

It really depends on who holds the rights - Saban or Disney.

Saban sold all their library to Disney. The press release regarding Saban's buy-back of a "majority" of their library did not mention Robots in Disguise. So does that mean Saban owns it, or does Disney?

And even then - Saban may own the rights to the show (audio and visual), but they do not own the name "TRANSFORMERS" or "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE". So only a few things could happen:

- Saban buys the licensing rights to "TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE" to use to put on the DVD packaging (highly unlikely)
- Hasbro buys back the show (audio and visual) from Saban at a higher-than-desired expense (highly unlikely)

Why would Saban want to sell the rights to something related to one of their top competitors? And why would Hasbro want to shell out a ton of money for a show and series that they do not consider important to their fictional franchise universe?

With Shout! Factory being in the middle, it goes from "never will happen" to "highly unlikely" ... but still a far ways to go.

Definitely looking forward to picking up a few seasons, especially season 2 where Zedd was at his prime. Also going to pick up RPM and see how this often praised series plays out.

But all of this is on Netflix... Unless these are all HD encodes and available on BluRay, count me out.

I'm hoping for Sexy DVD extras.

Streamling quality will never touch DVD quality.

I would love HD upconversions though, and they could easlily fit all 60 episodes onto 3 BD discs if they just kept them in SD.

Ill probably buy spd and see if its as good as i remember it and i heard rpm was good so i might get that too

I watched the entire season of SPD for the 1st time recently via Netflix and i thought it was very awesome! It immediately has become one of my favorite PR seasons. I hope you enjoy it as much as you remember it. It's on my list of PR seasons to own once available. :)

More power to you. I could not watch more than 5 episodes to SPD. Disco Skeletor, the rangers having super powers, the acting, Doggie was a lizard, not a dog, and they changed the bullets to lasers.

Great news. I will definitely be partaking of these. The 3 seasons of MMPR, Zeo, and Lightspeed Rescue for sure.

I do wonder what the deal with Masked Rider is, though. Its the only one of these shows not available on Netflix, either!

Pretty excited about this, as others said it's all on Netflix, but there's a few seasons I wouldn't mind owning. And, probably have to grab Beetleborgs as well.

But, would be better if we could get some real Sentai released on DVD/BD here!

I would scoop that up faster than you can say "uncle", but I think it's really unlikely. It creates brand confusion for Power Rangers, supposedly. A more experienced member here might elaborate a bit.

Sentai would more likily be released subtitled, in which case it wouldn't be sold in Walmart or Target and only in places FANs would look. It's no more confusing than say, GoLion vs Voltron or Macross vs Robotech (Heck, Macross even got a dub) both of which I've seen on the same shelf as the other. On top of that Shout's been known to release more niche items in the past. I doubt we'll ever get such things, but it's not completely outside the realm of possibilities.

Well of course it would be subtitled only, why waste time making a craptastic dub that nobody will care about?

However, if they release Sentai on DVD or BD subbed, I will buy every series even the ones I do not like just to support the show.
