Power Rangers Collectable Card Game Released at WalMart

The collectable Power Rangers card game has been released and purchased at a WalMart store in Kentucky. The starter deck (apx. $9.98) gives you 40 cards, a game mat, and two dice. The "booster" packs (apx. $3.98) contain 10 cards, with one secret holographic card included.

For those eager to call around and see if they have them in stock, use the following information, but be warned that some WalMart stores rely on vendors to stock any trading cards/card games, and just because the product is in the back, may not be able to get you that product without the vendor first stocking the product.

If these interact with the morpher I might be interested. I might still be interested if the art is good.

These cards should be able to interact with the morpher. Presumably, the boosters is where all the Ranger cards will come from. The ones included with toys will not be in booster packs so there isn't any overlap that way. It also forces completists to buy all the toys.

Or the toys will just have different art creating variants. They already have some.

1) Do you have a ranger in your hand?
Y: Then you win
N: Draw another card

I called a TRU here in NC and a TRU in LA, they found nothing. TRU checks all stores within like 1000 miles or more. They're very useful for this stuff. Checked Wal-Mart and none in my city. Nothing at Target. :(

now I must get these, yugioh, MtG, and Pokemon cards when I go out next

Well yeah, I'm sure there's way more than 180 cards. Even if there's only about that many sounds. Most being variants of each other. I kind of wonder how big the set is. Or if there will be cards that don't have bar codes at all. Like supports or something.

I will have to check it out. Hopefully the starter box has enough for two people to actually play. Would make a nice addition to my pile of "quick" games for when other, longer games have broken out.

Some more info I forgot to put out there is the rarity symbols.

Empty circle is for the commons.
Filled in circle are the rares.

I am assuming the following is true based on this. I only got one pack and it was Xandred for the holofoil.

The empty star means Super Rare.
Filled in star for Ultra Rare.


EDIT: Also each starter deck comes with two decks to play with.

Well, the obsession for me begins. As well as the bitching from people who won't like the game or idea of cards

I can't wait. I always have a hard time with card games though. I buy a bunch of packs, but don't know when to stop because I have most of a series. Hopefully someone could compose a list of every card in the first series once these are everywhere.

I hope the Megaforce line hits the UK soon.

Checked the Walmart near my house this morning, no sign of them yet.

I'd go check my Kmart, but they don't believe in restocking (The TF section has been empty (Sans 2 Botshots) since Christmas), so I doubt I'd see these cards anytime soon.

Walmart on Woodruff Rd in Greenville (SC) did not have the game. They were in the process of stocking up their M:TG cards, though, including the Gatecrash stuff (which isn't officially out until tomorrow)! So I got my Boros Legion Intro Deck! Wooo!

Seriously? Damn, thats ages away :(

Do we know if there are any rarity divisions, or is it just random cards plus one random foil?

The list is split between the toy card and the ACG cards at the bottom. Lots of RPM, Samurai, Megaforce, and MMPR clips, as well as in show clips.

so here in Vegas I picked up 1 deck and 5 packs, got mmpr red with dragon armor and mmps green, long story short I am already addicted.

Found the starter box and boosters. Picked up a box and 2 boosters, got some interesting cards -- 2 different MMPR White Rangers, an MMPR Green Ranger with the "Evil" Ability, and a foil MMPR Red Ranger wearing the Dragon Shield!

A question -- can you only play Villain cards in all-Villain decks? Or can a "Villain Deck" only have Villains in it, but a "Ranger deck" can have Villains? It's kinda confusing. I got a Dayu and a Loogie in my boosters, and if I can't use them in a Ranger deck then I am going to have to buy another booster to get to 30 cards in the two decks from the Starter box.

Also, I got a lot of RPM Rangers. Like, 3 of RPM Black and an RPM Green (appropriate combination I suppose). Just odd.

From looking at the cards I noticed an interesting trend -- the Samurai cards tend to be Aggro (forcing the opponent to discard from the Training area, thus taking more cards out of play) while the Megaforce cards seem to be denial/tempo (putting cards on the bottom of your deck instead of discarding). I wonder if each team of Rangers will have their own mechanical style?
