Go-Busters Mission 49 "Preparation and Selection" Discussion
The Go-Busters begin to lose hope in the fight against Enter, who keeps coming back stronger than ever and now with his own Go-Buster powers. With Hiromu still determined to sacrifice himself to save the world, can Jin come up with an alternative in time?

Considering all the fake season finale episodes Gobuster had throughout it's run, I think it's safe to say that a lot of us were expecting a lot from the REAL season finale of the show.
And so far, all I can say is…wow, just…wow, this is one hellofa way to send the series off. I'm surprised that Enter's still using his Metaroid form. I mean, I'm glad they haven't forgotten it, but his Ranger form seems much much more powerful. |
Were they planning all this the entire time?

My god, these past few episodes have been utterly amazing, god now I am sad to see gobusters go
|
YES. YES. YES.
Though I'm sad we won't be seeing Beet Buster Powered Custom. |
I am really going to miss this show. Its been one HELL of a ride.
Next week can't come soon enough, even if it is the last one :( |
Good lord this was another stellar episode. This show just continues to pull out all the stops on the way to it's finale. The other Busters promising to kill Hiromu when the time comes, Enter assimilating half of Japan for Data, that awesome battle in side the base, that other awesome battle with Aku No Red Buster.
I had this discussion with ZeoRangerV and DaiRiderRX on facebook earlier but I'll say it again. Week after week this show gets better. Every sentai has it's average filler episodes that are boring, EVERY one of them. We got the special treat of Go-Busters dispensing with the filler episodes at the beginning of the series. And it's been nothing but rewarding plot ever since. In the beginning I never thought I'd say this but I will truly miss this show. |
Yeah I really liked that little speech Ryuji gave Hiromu saying "Hey if the time comes that you have to be deleted, I'll do it." Seems like they're setting up for Jin to bite it the finale, but we'll see. And the fight scenes were awesome, fitting a penultimate episode.

I noticed that too. If they let Jin die then this show will really be cemented as a favorite of mine. Not because I hate Jin, I love him. But that risk of killing a character is always something I appreciate. If they Black Condor Jin then manly tears will be shed.

Yeah; man, I remember when it was a struggle to keep watching.
And now, I can't wait for each episode. It's just been so damn good. Heck - I love how Enter was figuring out what they were up to - even if he wasn't quite able to stop them, I liked the fact that he's no fool and he's collected about it. The whole bit with them trying to keep him in the hangar, for instance - he's just all "Yeah, I see what you're doing and I'm not gonna fall for it." Only reason he didn't just hightail it, really, was that he was pinned by three giant mechs with all their might, and even then he pretty much totaled the base in the process. One thing to bring up though - if Messiah was made by assimilating everyone's parents, and if Jin's data is also recoverable, is it possible that the parental data is also recoverable? |

As someone who has enjoyed the show from the start, seeing people coming around with these recent episodes is putting a smile on my face.

The parents have been completely lost at this point and almost any way that they could bring them back would feel completely tacked on and insulting. That is spoiling the hero's sacrifice. Now, the best ending that they could do that brings back the parents is to bring it to the hero's choice (either Jin's or the other GoBusters' choice). Either save Jin OR the parents. That would be a strong ending that doesn't spoil the sacrifice of the GoBusters because a sacrifice has to be made. |
Dark Red Buster is a cool bit of design, having elements of Enter's Unite look in amongst all the Buster elements.
Enter is just a great villain period. I find myself wishing the show had been more worthy of the character. I wish the show hadn't waited so long to get its act together, but it should end on a strong-ish sort of note, depending on how next week plays out. |

Finally got around to watching the episode and really enjoyed it. I haven't seen a penultimate episode this strong since Gekiranger.
