Ultra Act Thunder Gridman Pictorial Review
 

Courtesy of Gamu-Toys we bring you an extensive pictorial review of the recently released Ultra Act Thunder Gridman figure, also known as Synchro from Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad!

This review includes images of the figure using both the previously released Ultra Act Gridman figure, and the unpainted dummy body included with this release. In order to accommodate Ultra Act Gridman's head under the armour, a larger helmet is also included.

That is pretty cool... but I am concerned with getting Gridman because of the fragility issues I have read about. But I would hate to just get the Thunder Gridman set and not have the regular Gridman. Hrrn.

I wonder if they will make the robot that is formed from just this upgrade? I forget his name, but the three vehicles could combine into their own robo as well as the upgrade. Very Godbomber.

Agreed, but I was talking in concept if not execution -- armored upgrade for main hero which turns into a robo itself, but rarely shows up in robo form on it's own on the show. That's like the definition of Godbomber. :D

I am tempted to just buy this one because he does look so fantastic... the sad thing is for the price of this I could get a whole lot of Playmates SSSS toys to just stand on the shelf, :lol

Well, these kinds of figures are designed to exist solely as a combined whole. Playability sacrificed for detail and articulation. It's interactivity with the standalone Gridman is nothing more than a novelty, born from keeping continuity of scale.

I didn't have any problem with the wrists on mine.

Doesn't help that the robot looks a lot like Optimus Prime.

The more I look at this image on the frontpage the more I desire to own it and Gridman. It's just a really strong design even if you discount the "armor up" aspect. The same with Gridman himself -- always a great design.

I still would love to get at least one Virus for the different Gridmen to fight. Doesn't have to be Khan Digifer, though that would be awesome!

I wouldn't think villains from Gridman are too far behind; Ultra-Act seems pretty active in releasing villains/kaiju.

I would call being "active" if Ultra-Act had been releasing multiple villains a year like they once did. There was over a year gap between Alien Magma and finally getting Red King months back, with another eight months between him and Ace Killer. Even as exclusives, Kamen Rider Figuarts have had a better track record with villains than that.

Well, at one point it seemed like there was a villain for every Ultraman... But you're probably right.

Yeah when I saw that I was like WTF?! Grrrr.

After seeing this gallery I know for sure, I will not enjoy this figure on its own, I need to have Gridman too, that dummy doesn't cut it.

I don't mind so much because the Ultra Kaiju are very well represented in vinyl and generally scale with the Ultra-Act. There are some monsters I'd shell out the money for, but if you want someone for an Ultra-Act to fight with on the shelf you can do alright with a vinyl.

Now if my damned Bemular would just show up in the mail...
