Wizard Episode 22: "The Phoenix's Rampage" Discussion
1. Rinko's ID has been found? But it's covered in blood?! 2. Not wanting to follow Wiseman's orders, Phoenix rampages! 3. Rinko's been taken hostage by Phoenix! 4. Medusa VS Phoenix! Then Phoenix VS Haruto! 5. Can Haruto save Rinko? ~DISCUSS! PLEASE~ |
Spoiler: Haruto is a wizard.
|
Further spoiler: Rinko is kinda useless.
|
This was a pretty awesome episode. :) Can't wait for the sub.
|
Phoenix is way too fking op. Regenerate in 5 secs. WTF ?
|
It was nice to get away from the standard Wizard formula in this episode. Sora/Fedora Phantom was also fun as usual, I hope he sticks around for a while.
|
Its funny i always thought the drago timers dragon looked kinda fragile and prone to breaking.Who knew they would make an actual plot point of it.

Oh, hey Sora.
Gee. I wonder who's going to end up being the final villain, the current baddies, the guy with an anger issues, or the guy working every faction like puppets. It's like this show is super original with it's villains. In all honesty, the biggest twist they could throw at us would be Sora dying before episode 48. Anyway, Phoenix is awesome, I hope he sticks around. |
Wizard vs. Phoenix: Round 3 was a pretty great fight. Though I wonder how Haruto didn't run out of mana during it, considering he used four transformations (three of which tapped into WizarDragon's power) and three finishers during it.
Also that ending can be pretty scary if you're a kid. |
... The entire fight, I couldn't help but think:
"Okay, cool. Wizard is going to finish off Phoneix once and for all. Okay yeah, dude is just going to come back... OH THANK GOD, it didn't take an episode. Ohhhkay, Haruto? Buddy... you have a new toy to use... No? Oh, you want to drag this into the next episode? Yeah? =/ Bleh." Other wise, it was refreshing not to have another Gate episode, but overall I'd give this episode of 7.3/ 10 |
Man that was another really good episode. It feels like the stakes have risen crazy high. I figured Medusa wouldn't have a power great enough to stop Phoenix either. Glad to see her get knocked down a peg or 2. on top of this the fight between Phoenix and Wizard was really great.

If the reason he didn't pull out the DragoTimer is because Shunpei broke it, I would be really... unimpressed. A magical item that can survive the heat of battle apparently can't survive a grown man's curiosity to fiddle with it. Although that quality should make it interesting for reviewers who cover the DX Drago Timer :lol
Anyways, aside from the odd absence of the DragoTimer in the final fight of the episode, I loved everything. After seeing Kosuke get curious, I'm wondering if Beast will be the one to finish off Phoenix for good. After all, Phoenix may not be able to reincarnate himself if his mana gets absorbed before he has a chance. Whatever the case, I'm really liking how this show has picked up. Haruto is actually, you know, showing emotion, and the plot is going somewhere. |
Another great episode. The fight between Wizard and Phoenix was fantastic. Sora is a really fun character, though I hope there's more to him than "secretly is the big bad" or some such.
|
Loved the episode, really disappointed when it ended... when Haruto uses the Gravity ring on Phoenix, that was probably the coolest bit since the giant dragon foot kick.
I wonder what will finally destroy Phoenix, the DragoTimer or Beast? |

A possible story would be Beast eating Phoenix, but resurrecting inside his underworld.
That'd be pretty neat. |
Last week when Rinko told Yugo to just do what he wants I thought that's really a bad thing to say to this guy and true enough Rinko kinda paid for it.
And we have a Kizaki sighting this episode I thought he would be more relevant in the show than he has so far. Fedora Phantom really is an interesting character. You don't know which side he really is on. Is he following Wiseman's orders? Is he working on his own? You just don't know his agenda right now. And I liked how Mayonnaise practically mooched food off of Haruto and Shunpei. Well he is kind of a hobo so I guess that's his only way to get food. |
I think that Fadora might not be a ohantom, but an evil wizard, because in the episode when Haruto meet fadora, Fadora did not say if he was a phantom or not

Also love the beginning. The face on Haruto when Shunpei snapped off the Dragon on the Dragon Timer.lol |
Chimera is an ancient Phantom, so his biology is different?
There's a reason why none of the current Phantoms (Dragon included) aren't fighting each other for food and survival. |
Another super awesome episode. I am now 100% committed into getting Pheonix as figuart. That character is the most diabolical and badass villain to come along in a long time. I hope he sticks around a bit more or comes back as the final boss.
As for Fedora, I am thinking he's a lot more powerful than he's letting on. He reminds of me of the Naruto character Tobi, who didn't look all that threatening but was revealed to be this powerful ninja who started Fourth Great Ninja War. |

Chimera, however, was linked to the belt Mayonnaise found, which was pretty rusted when he got his hands on it. Note that I might be entirely wrong, since I'm basing my thoughts on the fact that Chimera came from the belt, and not Mayo's inner Phantom. |

That does explain it, since Mayonnaise can't produce his own natural mana to feed Chimera.
It does beg the question as to why no other Gate has access to mana when the Phantom still lived on inside them, but I guess it might be a voluntary act. |

Hey Kizaki, it was nice to see you even if it was only for 30 seconds.
Pretty good episode though, it was nice to see things move away from the usual Wizard formula again. It would be nice to see Phoenix stick around as a loose cannon for a little while longer but what can you do. |
DAT CLIFFHANGER
Was watching the OP, and when I saw "He'll dig into the roots of you memories," I thought memories was mayonnaise... |
Overall I liked this episode. When Medusa turned Phoenix to stone, I thought "seriously? So what was the point of making him go rouge?" But then he broke free, so yeah. I do wish that Nitou did more, but they did focus more one The Fedora Phantom/Sora and that is only a good thing.
