Power Rangers Action Card Game Thread!
 

Figured I'd start a thread for this awesome new game, but I'm a sucker for card games (huge fan of Yu-Gi-Oh to this day) and you add collectable card games along side my love of Power Rangers/Super Sentai, well, you got me hooked.

So far I've bought the starter deck and 6 packs, here are my super rares I've gotten so far:

I'm all in for this game, gonna work on getting a complete set, only 3 ultra rares and 6 super rares to get for a full set of those, then I'd just have to get all the commons and rares

now I just need someone to play with :lol

I was waiting for someone to make a thread like this. So I (along with many other members I'm sure) am excited to get my hands on some card packs. But unfortunately for those not situated in the US of A (like me) they're probably not gonna see this stuff in stores until at least mid-2013. So that sucks, but Bandai has this cool demo of the game on their site:

It only has Samurai, Megaforce & RPM decks but it's still pretty neat.

Are the cards that come with the various figures/zords available in the booster packs too?

My understanding is that those cards are exclusives.

Finished my Megaforce and Samurai decks last night. Well on my to having playable Mighty Morphin' and RPM decks as well. By the way, it is a little tight but you can fit two 30 card decks, the dice, and paperwork in the Starter deck box.

DaiRiderRX: How did you manage to pull two ultra rares from only 6 packs? Those ones are like 1:6 odds :lol

But anyways, I finally managed to complete my set. I just wish I had actually had someone to play it with. It seems like it could be fun.

Edit: And is anyone else terrified of putting cards in the gosei morpher? I tried it with a few commons and no matter how delicate you are, you will always slightly bend the bottom edge of the card when pulling it out from underneath the tab. Maybe I'm just inept, but that's what I found.

I really want those MMPR cards but I can't allow myself to be suckered into yet another card game…my spending habits are expensive enough.:lol

I'll probably buy one or two packs every now and then.

I want to collect the Shinkenger cards, so far I only have 2 :lol

Wait, the first wave pack have hyper shinken red? Damn now I gotta start buying packs :lol

I'm in Canada and I saw them in stores yesterday.

I just have luck when it comes to card game blind packs, no matter if it yu-gi-oh, pokemon, or now power rangers, I always seem to get rare cards when I buy packs :lol my dad has even better luck, I bet if I had him pick 3 packs I'd get the remaining ultra rares :lol

and to me, taking cards out of the morpher is scary, but I just grab the bottom two corners of the card and gently bend them just enough to free the card, but not to severely bend the card

I'm not sure whether its a good or bad thing, but that's reduced my interest in going all out on these cards. Since I'll probably have no one to ever play the game with, it was mainly about the collecting side for me.

even though they are toy exclusive, there are variants of at least some of the cards in the booster packs I've seen

this may not be the most appropriate thread for this but does the gosei morpher have some sort of tab blocming the phrases in package. i brought some of my zord cards to walmart and tried a morpher on the shelf and the cards i used just said go go megaforce when inserted.

since im guessing this also become a trade card thread, I have an extra dino megazord card if anyone needs one :lol

the only ones im really needing are dragonzord battle mode and white and green mmpr super rares

There's a 'demo' mode that the morpher is stuck on in the package.

drat, twas afraid of that. it would have been an awesome selling point to bring your card in to try it out

i see its not hard getting the ultra rares from the packs at all.i brought 3 yesterday at target and got 2 ultras out of 3 packs its all random

To answer everyone's questions about the toy and booster packs, there are two avenues to receive cards: Toys and Card Packs.

The toys come with cards which are numbers P-xxx, the p meaning Promo. These are specific cards exclusive to the toys.

The starter packs and booster packs come with cards numbered for their respective series. Series 1 is the only one out now, so they are labeled 1-xxx, and only come with the Series 1 Starter Pack and Booster Packs.

Series 2 will consist of only booster packs labeled 2-xxx. Series 2 will come with 115 cards consisting of S.P.D., Ninja Storm, Lightspeed Rescue, Lost Galaxy, In Space, and Mystic Force, RPM, Super Samurai and Megaforce. It also will have villain cards for Rita, Ecliptor, and Diabolico.

The Series cards that come with the packs will span the entire franchise and will give you a chance to get cards for the rangers that are included in the toys, such as the 5 red rangers that come with the Gosei Morpher, although different cards.

The Gosei Morpher has 3 modes it can go into: Try Me, On, and TCG.

Try Me plays Go Go Megaforce when any card is used, and is the default mode in the package.

On plays the phrases from the cards.

TCG reads power levels and special effects from cards for the TCG.

nothing is stopping people from using this thread to do so, I made this thread so we can have a discussion about the card game, and trading falls into that

I was wondering, what is the ratio for ultra rares? because ive bought 6 packs in the last couple weeks, only packs ive bought, and every other one is the dino megazord :lol so ive got a super mmpr red, super samurai tiger megazord, super samurai megazord, and three ultra dino megazords... if anyone has an extra dragonzord battelmode i will trade the two extra... seriously :lol

Seriously? Man. That's one of the cards I want. I don't buy too many packs. I got rid of most of my extras. None of them were that great anyways.

See that's exactly what i'm afraid of…I have terrible luck when it comes to booster packs it seems. I can never pull what I want:lol

according to this thread ids 1:6 chance for an ultra rare, guess you got even better luck than me :lol

I guess I do have good luck but it will suck b/c it will prob turn on me next series an I wont get crap :lol but I might go back to walamrt soon just to see if I can pull a Drgnzrd :lol

word of warning, there is no actual Dragonzord card yet. just the dragonzord battle mode

That is entirely possible; "Exclusive" in this context may just mean "exclusive art" like Wizards does with cards that they pack into their comics and other promotions.

I have a small pile of "quickie" card games which I have obtained over the last few months, including this one, so I need to organize a games weekend and get them played!

I still can't beleive how much I lucked out with this and got the green ranger card I wanted on my first try.

Woot! I was excited when I pulled both green mmprs from the same pack. I thought that missing bit of foil was a defect at first but it seems every card has it.

Yeah I usually have bad luck when it comes to these blind pack card game thingies. I can never get the bloody cards that I need for the decks I want to run.

But to get the card I was going to go after without even trying? It's a bloody good feeling.

BOA did not really think when making the cards for the first wave they have 20 season all could be mixed up in every pack to say diffrent card art verstions of the same card.

That's because there is going to be subsequent waves... The whole point of collectable cards is to stretch it out so people keep buying them.

well I finally got super rare green and samurai gold, now is anyone has the hyper samurai red card to buy or trade thatd be great lol
