Kyoryuger Toy thread
Surprised I haven't seen a thread yet. Anyway the first Review of Kyoryujin is up. Gabutyra is a massive dino!

Wow he's bigger than I'd imagined. Disappointed that Kyoryujin's feet doesn't fall completely flat on the ground but besides that I'm loving everything else . Can't wait for mine's to come in from AmiAmi! Really can't wait to see what those extra joint/peg parts will be used for on Gabutyra. If they do have a cluster-mech, I hope it's a good one.
|
As soon as we start getting the Kyoryuger stuff in, Sentai Tamashii and I will be doing reviews of the weapons and accessories as well as all of the mecha :D So look forward to some official galleries and videos in the coming weeks!
|
Ugh, dollars to pesos when that Pteradactyl attaches to the back of the mecha, the cape will be a leftover piece.
It's a shame too, because that would make a great shield. |
The mecha line looks great, particularly Gabutyra. I wonder why he has so many connectors? The Pterodactyl mecha doesn't seem to attach in any significant way, so there must be a lot more in store down the line.

I guess its OK, but for my money the Dinos were done well enough in Abaranger. I don't feel tempted by these new Mechs at all.

For my dino mecha fix, I've switched from Abaranger to Kyoryuger. Funny how Abaranger's mecha were rather organic looking while Kyoryuger's are actually quite mechanical. Does anyone else get this impression? |

Kyoryujin is at the top of my must get list right now. The Gaburevolver and Gaburecalibre are just below him.
|
I might be more interested in some of the Kyoryuger stuff if the other Dinos were stuff other than just arms.
If it can form multiple Megazords and end up with one big one like the Engines, I might eventually cave. |
totally in for this line, but worried about my order with HLJ, theyre showing March restock on the listing and my preorder hasnt changed.
Wish id caught it on amiami this morning |

I got a feeling this is going to be another line that I'll dislike all the way through, and then once the final combination is shown/annouced, I'll have to pick them all up.

That's why I stopped using HLJ. Its a luck of the draw anymore when it comes to their preorders. I waited over a month with the mobilerates and they never got a restock. I ended up getting it from amiami while staying up late one night.
|
got sick of waiting for HLJ and ordered the combiner from CStoys
|
How much was HLJ charging for shipping? Because I read CStoys was charging $70 to ship him and that's crazy! AmiAmi charged me $54 for ems.
|
man I cant wait to get Choryujin and the Kyoryrevelovler/Gabrucalibur
gonna wait until they hype dies down though so im not paying hundreds for both of them, unless someone here can get em for me for retail lol |

I didnt think any site would still have them lol, dammit man I hope they still have them in 2 weeks

Their also charging more shipping! $63 for ems and $70 for airmail (yes you read that right)! Just be patient and wait for amiami to get him back in stock!
|
dammit, i thought it was the best i was going to get given how quick amiami sold out, ive given up with HLJ and shipped the last of the items i had in my private warehouse.
proves how bad ive been screwed over by ebay retailers that i thought i was getting a decent enough deal. Picked up DX Daivoyager and Zuuban last week and the EMS ended up about 8600 yen, about 1000 yen more than the figures cost in total! on plus side, i'll have it by end of the week |

Got my Kyoryujin today! When this set was first revealed I hated it. I thought they looked like something fisher price would put out. However as better scans and pictures came out I started to warm up to them. Then after watching a demo of the figure in action I liked what I saw and pre ordered him. Now having him in my hands I'm really glad I did! No picture or scan can do him justice he looks soooo much better in person.
This is our 3rd T-rex robo and I have to say he's the best yet IMHO. With his massive size and bulk Gabutrya is a beast! He might not looks as intimidating as Tyranno from Abaranger/Dinothunder but his bulk makes up for that. Though Stegotchi and Dricera aren't as impressive as Gabutrya they both have their own charm and its nice to get a stegosaurus to change things up a little bit. While the battery gimmick is neat I think its a little tedious. Like we saw in episode two for the gimmick to work Gabutyra must first chomp on the batteries to recognize them. Because the there's nothing in the shoulder connectors to tell it what battery is being inserted its all in Gabutrya's mouth. So everytime to watch to switch dino's your going to have to take the battery out of the dino insert it into Gybu's mouth take back out and then put in back into the dino and combine. Instead of doing all that they should have just had the pin readers in the shoulders or in all three places. But I guess that's what makes the gimmick unique and add more play value for the kids. Who I guess have more patience than me. The only real complaint I have is the sound is very loud. After doing it two times trying different things my ears were ringing. I feel sorry for Japanese parents having to put up with that. Anyway Kyoryujin is a solid purchase and one you shouldn't miss out on if your liking what you see of the show so far. Best of all he's enjoyable as is with out waiting for future upgrades or collecting every singe battery! |
90% Of my animosity with Gabutyra is that ridiculous gap in his back that could've easily been filled by a flip away panel or by having his head be able to lower.
The derpy face, the dumb feet, they could all be forgiven, but I cannot get past that huge and unsightly gap. |
Pre-ordered mine's from Ami Ami, should be here any day now. I'm so excited after seeing all of these pictures!!
|
I gotta say, Kyoryujin is one beautiful bot!
|
Like I said pics do not do him any Justice. When you see him in person the size of bulk of the figure do a good job of hiding that gap and the feet look well portioned in T-rex mode. In robot mode its not that bad but its not the best I agree.
|
the anticipation of getting mine is making me giddy, trying to decide whether on the basis of initial impressions of kyoryujin to go all in on the mecha

I don't get it, which gap exactly are you guys talking about? I don't see any gap.
|
We're talking about the slope on Gabutryas back. Where the head pops up in the middle.

I just don't understand how it's a "gap" if it's intended to be that way. It's not like somethings missing, it's designed that way. And it does not look as bad as some are saying it does.
|
It's hard to be distracted by the back stuff for me; it's just so minor. I'd like to think he found some black thrash and decided to lug it around.

This talk about Gabutyra's back gave me an idea I couldn't resist trying.
|
Why can't we have a Green T-rex ranger named Yoshi?
